Shandien LaRance hoop dancing at the Plaza in Santa Fe

Native American hoop dancer Shandien LaRance performs at the Plaza in Santa Fe in April of 2022. LaRance is a part of the Lightning Boy Foundation run be her father, Steve. The non-profit organization teaches Native American youth to value their traditional heritage by celebrating aspects of it such as hoop dancing.
Hoop dancing originated in the Pueblos of northern New Mexico.
Lightning Boy Foundation dancers can regularly be found giving free performances at the Plaza Saturdays at 3:00.
