You're not the first to say she's a top tier vocalist, in fact a number of reactors, vocal coaches and singers who reacted to her videos stated she's in the league of superstars like Mariah, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and so many other legendary great vocalists and two even boldly said that "it's a tragedy for the music history if Morissette's name will not be a household name".
Who were those two who claimed that it would be a tragedy? I'm interested to see those reactions, Mori is clearly one of the legends of modern singing.

Morissette is not a regular singer with a beautiful voice. She is an extraordinary singer who travels with her voice, internalizes the song and is happy to share this journey with us. Sometimes I think how much we would be missing if we didn't know her. And her whistling tone is truly dreamy.

The last belt with run was in one breath lasting so long, I love it, this is a original written for Mori by a good friend Kiko Salazar back in 2015, he has a newish song for Mori called POWER which she sang at the MISS Universe contest then later in her studio after being ill for some time, you see her husband Dave Lamar on the monitor checking everything and he cannot believe how great she is singing, even better than the miss contest now that's saying something she is just brilliant, brave, beautiful and so happy to be able to sing, just watch Dave's face, did I forget to say it was the FIRST TAKE as well, this song show cases Mori's voice. She truly is one of a kind. During her EP release she said that her whistle is not her “signature” (name of her EP) and she no longer uses or indulges in her whistle tone much anymore for voice longevity. She’s a humble, sweet and hardworking individual. I love everything she puts her hands on.
Side note, after the first reaction you did of Mori I watched a few videos of yours. You can REALLY SING! This is a big compliment but you sound a lot like Jesse J who Morissette also idolizes and actually had the chance to sing with when Jesse J invited her on the stage to sing with her after Mori interviewed her backstage. It was very impromptu.
She sounds like Mariah in some parts, and in some parts like Christina Aguilera, etc. In some songs, like Whitney, Beyonce, etc. Combine all those artists... that's Morissette Amon. She sings in all genres, in several languages and for all ages. ❤❤❤
More like she used their technique or styles to make a new style ,cz she never actually sound like (tone wise) any other singers that i've heard .

I have heard many vocal coaches say that her squeaks ( or sizzle as you call it) are in her whistle tone. If you watch videos of her just laughing and goofing around you will see that she easily and naturally accesses her whistle register.
There was an interview of hers where they asked about the Mori "squeak" sound & she described it herself where she gets 2 a pitch where she's at the edge of her whistle register and when it starts, she cuts it off. She then notices that it happens 2 her voice quite a bit so she just let's it & is now her signature sound. We love it!!! And she is the only singer in the world with it.
The way she hold that high notes then swtich to her whistle effortless watta a great talent!

They are one of the reasons she is incredible and no doubt one of the most talented singer worldwide. You can appreciate her multi-level talent with the one take video of "Could be Messiah". She was joining tv singing competitions at age 9. She just turned 27 early this month. She has been singing all her life, or to put it in another way, she was born to sing. And we are blessed to have witnessed this amazing talent. 🥰 I think one of the reasons she is one of the top-tier vocalists is, as you have mentioned, she's got a lot of "tools" in her arsenal, she's capable of squeaks, growls, and whistle tones, she has a wide vocal range, she can go from low, sweet, dreamy tones, to mid-range, and to high belting notes which are rich, full and not strained nor sound shrilly. its a high compliment from her, I watched a lot of reviews from this coach, she has a lot of respect and appreciation to the uniqueness of all the singer she watched, but she also believes that great vocalist must have their inspiration from other great vocalist. she will always be curious about their inspiration and points out what she heard. Sounds like fake news to me 🤪 In all seriousness, growing up my music nerd buddies and I would talk from time to time about what our "perfect" singer would be like if we could build them from scratch. I rattled off my favorite qualities of some of the all-time greats. Imagine my shock to later discover this singer actually existed. I don't need to indulge in the "frankenstein singer" exercises any more because now I just point to Morissette. She is my ideal singer in the contemporary music realm.

Most singers now, abandoning the old style chest voice. Back when someone saying to me,if you want to be able to sing properly. Then go for a swim but before that, get your body soaked slowly until neck high, then do a ( do re me ) from low to high kind of backlash lol 😅

Get the foundation right first, then you can experiment on the new techniques. Mori, imo, has such a great foundation. Her vocal issues are tiny, minor issues of refinement only.

Regine Velasquez once stated that Mori is "fearless". I often wondered why Regine specifically chose that word to describe her. 'Fearless' is the norm for these types of vocalists. But Mori is 'next level' fearless. That signature "squeak" at 2:52 is like the quadruple axel jump in figure skating. It's a jump that's nearly impossible to land. Mori does this "squeak" on command, and more impressively, within the flow the performance. It's not a gimmick. It's an artform. An artform that only she can do. It's basically a whistle register onset (at the start of the pitch) for a split second, then shifting right into her chest voice register, with no gaps in the vocal compression. It's not only a unique tonal shift, It's an extreme vocal register shift, from the whistle register (requiring a most precise thinning of the vocal folds), right into the chest voice register (thick vocal folds). Also, it's the way she uses vocal compression. She often uses extreme levels of compression to intentionally create drama/tension within the song, which most casuals/haters MISINTERPRET. They think she's having a hard time singing, but in reality, she's actually choosing to use insane levels of compression - more than most singers!!! And Mori is that RARE singer who can use extreme levels of compression, because her tone is so full and rich; she has lots of room to manipulate her tone. She can compress it so much, without sacrificing much of the quality of her tone. It's actually legendary, but casuals/haters have no idea. Unbelievable how she can shape her vocal tract and produce different formants and different tones. LEGEND is the only word to describe her. It's so 'next level', that it's going to take awhile for casuals in her own country to catch up to the legendary things she is doing with her voice. Casuals who are so attuned to hearing 'plain vanilla' tones and formants.
Stripped down like this it's even MORE freaking amazing! Can hear everything more clearly. Without the pauses it's even more amazing cuz of how long she holds the notes! Great feedback though.

Oh you did it. Hahaha this is my favourite. I think this was also the video where she was actually not feeling well. Rnb was huge in the Philippines and still is. Katrina Velarde has good Boyz two men songs with awesome Filipino male singers. You should watch it! Also, if you think she is top tier and among the very, very best, can't wait till you discover Regine Velasquez, even Morissette and Katrina and all recognize her as THE TOP TIER in Philippine female singers.
Many reactors have mentioned it is a tragedy that Morissette Amon is an example where Talent, Skill and quality for one reason or another can be overlooked and/or intentionally ignored by those in the industry (cruel and unfair). Essentially unknown when compared to others that have way less yet are more internationally recognised.
Whistle is that super weapon if you use it in right moment it does something i sound like shit but when i whistle its always good to hear its also about controling the runs up there
