- Peter Cardwell reveals the shocking news of a BBC Radio 4 programme attacking Keir Starmer's late mother, who suffered from Still's disease, with the words 'your mother sucks c**ks in hell' taken from a clip of the Exorcist film.
Former Ofcom non-executive director Barnie Choudhury says a BBC programme attacking Keir Starmer's dead mother, reminds him of Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross prank-calling Andrew Sachs.
"They have failed abjectly to even think about what the outcome of this is going to be."
Barnie adds "there is no way on earth that you can defend this", and calls for Ofcom to investigate.
Broadcaster and journalist Michael Crick has also accused the BBC of "gross stupidity" after a Radio 4 programme made a sick attack on Keir Starmer's dead mother.

Under what legal statute? Being offended isn't actionable at law. What the BBC broadcast was utterly despicable, but it isn't grounds for any form of legal action.

Not sure that's an avenue open to him and his family, but he has the majority in Parliament to push to defund the BBC, let's hope he has the inclination to do so, it would be a popular outcome for the country, an easy win to get people on side, he will need that with all that's ahead.

I don't pay my licence fee...it's not my licence fee...it's demanding money with menaces, whether you use their service or not. They make the assumption that those who don't pay their licence fee are still continuing to watch their content, hence the threats and coercion, they just don't seem to be able to understand that a majority of people in the Uk don't watch either them, or the others of their ilk and would like to see them closed down. The BBC has outlived it's time, it's no longer fit for purpose and as you rightly say, should be closed down.

The caller made a fair point about how there shouldn't be censorship of comedy and that people should be allowed to listen to whatever they find funny- which is fair enough.
