During the pandemic, I went through a 1-year period where I worked 20-hour days for months on end in public service. It was deeply fulfilling, but also bitter work and dark times. During that time, I think I spent hundreds of hours working to nothing but this song on loop. It is hard to put into words how much I love it. Like most of Yiruma's songs, the interplay between major and minor effortlessly takes you to a place of nostalgia, warming you and chilling you at once. The motif from 0:58 to 1:23 is a perfect example of this - wistful, longing, and making you anticipate the happiness that's coming with the next part. But this piece is also undeniably happy! The main motif (the one you hear from 0:00 to 0:17, 0:42 to 0:58, etc) is nothing but joy, and I especially love the iteration from 1:23 to 1:55, which is played lower and a teensy bit faster than all the rest - it makes my pulse race and my heart sing with pure happiness, and I'm pretty sure that I am anticipating those 30 seconds when I listen to it on loop (which I do a lot). To me, this piece is the audio equivalent of stargazing - a can't-stop-yourself-from-smiling sense of wonder, peace, and love for even the coldest heart. It is a triumph of the human spirit, showing us all that we May Be. I hope I one day get to hear Yiruma play it live.

I can't describe with words what I felt in that momment... even if I was full of vocabulary and with the skills of Shakespeare to write, I would never be able to describe it. There are momments in life that are not to be described or written. These momments must be solely felt!
I can't fully place the song in a single emotion. It portrays _maybe_ delight, melancholy, and a sense of longing all in one piece. That's why I like the title so much. It makes sense.
As I listen to this music, I can imagine a story of two lovers who were meant to meet but separate ways in the end. The title "Maybe" could be taken from that story where both lovers do not want to destroy each other's lives and remain separated forever and love each other silently. Maybe, if there were no circumstances, the love could have blossomed.
I felt the same thing for almost a year... But, May be I could still be with her... Not so soon, but for half a decade at least... also because we are still quite young...

I wish I could have some of the time back from when these things filled my life. This brings me back to a time when things felt okay, and I hadn't yet experienced loss like I've known today. Yiruma's work brings a little magic in a world and in my age where both have grown without it.

The girl held the promise and stayed at the village. Waiting for the promise... but.... it never happened. After 7 years, the boy came to his old house. he was a father of 3 children . While he was cleaning the house, he found some of memories. he and that girl. He totally forgot about that promise he had made. he felt very guilty and hurt. he used his old bicycle and went to her house . Unfortunately , the girl was not in home. he tried to searched every places that he and that girl together. It was getting dark and he was fed up . Suddenly, he heard a melody sounds similar to his ears. he went through the darkness and found a bright side at the corner. An unexpectable situation happened, it was the girl he was searching for! After 7 years we didn't met , now u fulfill your promised to me, can we be a best friend again? He was very guilty but grateful because the girl didn't forget him for a long time. I'm sorry , please pardon me! The girl smiled at him and said , to see a person's sincerity is with the promise he made, he fulfilled it, and that is a true friend. And you made it! He gave her a friendship bracelet that he made when he had to go first. It was a night full of memories between he and that girl. Full of tears, laughs and happiness.... I used to listen to this particular piece of magic in my opinion, along with river flows in you when I was going through a very, very tough time 10 years ago... and today I re-discovered it. I’m literally sat here trying to hold back tears...music is so powerful to have that effect on you, but wow it really does. Such an amazing piece of music.

I found this song from a friend of mine who noticed me every day, dragging myself through the halls of my high school because I would tear myself down from my home life and my classes, and she told me to look this piece up. I now listen to this song on loop because I have made such an emotional connection with this amazing piece of music, I hope that his music can touch others as it has for me.
