I remember listening to the local AM radio station on saterday mornings waiting with anticipation to hear Lester Roadhog Moran , they were very popular .Miss the days of times past .
I'm 62, picked up the gee-tar when I was 12 and I'm proud to say that I can almost play as good as "Witchita" on lead gee-tar..... Alright Mighty Fine!
This is my all time favorite comedy album ever! Having played country music for decades professionally, they totally nailed it! Even the picture is priceless!
@@WickerBillVintageCountryMusic Thank you SO much for posting this classic country humor! I have never found anything in my long life funnier than the "ol Roadhog! Love their bread truck too! LOL
I'd say this ranks up there with David Allan Coe's You Never Even Called Me By My Name. Hell, David and Lester should've collaborated. That would've been a hell of a country shindig.
Picked up this sealed LP album today. Don Reid was cleaning out some stuff that the Statlers had in storage, and got a local auction company, Enlisted Auctions, to sell these items for him online, yesterday. Got a couple of albums. If I can listen online, I might not open them
Your welcome and thanks Beth....another way to remember the great Harold Reid. This was one I hesitated over some, maybe most people will see it's humor and variety is the spice of life they say.
@@WickerBillVintageCountryMusic I'm so sorry. I didn't know he just passed away at the age of 80. Loved their music. Harold was bass singer? May he Rest In Peace. My condolences to his family, friends and fans. I am one. Makes the song special. He will be missed. Thank you, WB!
That's a doozy of a gathering you got there D! They must have been at a bonfire and sang at the end of the night, all a bit tipsy, I'd say'' different entertainment for sure! Thanks.
@Vicki Smith This was a spoof done by the Statler Brothers. It was a teasing sort of alter ego comedy skit they did many years ago. It was what some of the local talent & small town radio shows sounded like back in the day.
Might be weird but still sounds better than anything country radio plays today 😂 Hahaha ol Roadhog was just funnin ! Ok mighty fine mighty fine Have yourself a W E A K day alright mighty fine mighty fine! A. A. Are we.Are we off.. Are we off...?
@@steveendicott1855 40 years ago this is a lot like what local radio sounded like before satellite and you actually had to hire people to do the job that weren't very good because you needed Warm Bodies and there are still a lot of bands that are just this horrible. Everyone thinks they can be a band.
First to say "Otis Gibbs Sent me here", listenin' on W.E.A.K. Raydio... nice. :)
My daddy had this album. Now it’s mine.

I'll never be as good as ole Wich😓
@@eddrane4064 how bout Check Atkins ?
😂😅😂. I bought this on CD decades ago. My wife hates it when I play it.
Let her.
My wife hates this, too. I, OTOH, think it's a riot -- literally! LOL
Well.....I KNOW what I'd do! Time to shop around for another wife!
One of the best memories of my late mother was she played this over and over when she was recovering from cancer in the early 80's

Alrighty Rob...mighty fine. From listening to local radio programs and tv shows in the day , i'd say so too.

Liza Jane always makes me laugh
Pure minstrel genius. Before the Rutles, before Spinal Tap... there was Roadhog and the Cadillac Cowboys.
Love this , everybody today is much too serious .
Back when there was simple fun And people were decent
Once upon a time that is
this album proves just how good and versatile the Statlers were, they had to be great to be that bad
Fifty years ago my friend and I smoked and laughed our butts off to Lester and the boys-
good times😅
I hear ya , brother
Best live record in music history.
Rightly Unfortunate that more weren't able to follow this here example.
"Martin Mull and his Fabulous Furniture" is pretty great too.
Lol😂
band member Harold Reid was 80 years old, when he died on April 24, 2020 at the time!!!
Freaking classic. Also I’m pretty sure I played in a band like this few decades ago!
Hahaaa, alrighty then........
That's why bars serve drinks
A great comedy music album all at the same time!
Thank you for sharing this!
I AM JUST WONDERING HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE A COPY OF THIS ORIGINAL ALBUM? I DO!
We had one at the station before the fire; that's how I was introduced to the Cadillac Cowboys.
I have one
I have 3

Agree. It would be boring without variety. Great job, my friend.

Yes!!! Thank you!!!! 1Nation4Life
I think the Charlie Pride N-- joke was a takeoff from Blazing Saddles, which also came out in 1974.
The only N gulp. N GULP. THE ONLY NAME THAT AIN'T ON THE LIST
The only bright spot of this "whatever-it-was" is finding out Johnny Mack Brown had a high school named for him. He was a great '50's cowboy!
This stuff is hilarious sorry you don't find it that way
16 Tons !
I owe my soul down at the STOOOOORE!!!

Aw right ! Thats a gooder .
It's a little crazy in every ways. I thought the seventies had all good music like much earlier than that.
Yes it is Vikki, it really is. The Statler Brothers were trying to be bad on this album. May you have a wonderful week.
