"Did he just kill a kid?"
Ma'am it's not the first time. He's a vet at it.
Hahaha I was looking for this comment
he got a prestige class out of it, 3 levels of child massmurderer
True. I was shocked though that they showed the kids neck snap. Vader is terrifying in that episode
Anakin clearly has the mentality of fuck them kids
Oh man, if these Vader moments make her disgusted by him, the comics would devastate her. He's nothing short of a monster in those.
As he should be.
I'm thinking about that one-off about the lady obsessed with him and what he does
Didn’t Vader kill a kingdom with just a dance?
@@gersoncruz1554 He killed a few with dances
This is what Vader is supposed to be!!!!!❤️❤️
James Earl Jone's voice cannot be imitated by anyone with great accuracy, which is probably why they brought him back for Kenobi series, and thank The Maker for that!
Well, they got a huge assist from Respeecher in constructing the voice in the show...and the guy who voiced Vader in the latest Lego Star Wars game (Fred Tatasciore) does a pretty great job at it too. So if they use Vader again after James Earl Jones passes away, they'll be okay.
The empire is just the galactic government, so most of the galaxy is essentially part of the empire. Leia's father, Bail Organa, was a senator in Galactic Senate under the Republic (which transitioned to the Imperial Senate when the Empire came to be). But he is anti-Palpatine and would eventually be a founding member of the Rebel Alliance (formally, the Alliance to Restore the Republic).
I definitely fall on the side of loving this show, every episode just feels right to me, even when it's being a little silly there's a lot of heart in it, not to mention that Ewan's and Vivien (Leia's) performances are out of this world. You can really see the struggle Obi-Wan is facing, and you can really see Carrie Fisher in Vivien's performance but it's got its own flair, that kid is really owning the part and is doing a fantastic job
Leia's dad, Bail Organa, was a senator in the Galactic Republic the same as Padme Amidala. After the Clone Wars and Order 66, the Republic was "re-organized" by Chancelor Sheev Palpatine into "The First Galactic Empire" with Palpatine (Darth Sidious) as its Emperor. The senators kept their positions as representatives of their home planets, but now are now senators in the Empire's "Imperial Senate". Their positions are really only for show since the Emperor is the true ruler of the Empire, but Bail Organa is still an idealist who favors the democratic process over fascism.
That young girl is one of the greatest casting jobs ever! She looks like a young Carrie Fisher and her acting is on point! Absolutely stunning, especially given her age! And her chemistry with Obi Wan is so heart warming...
Can't wait for your reaction to the last two episodes!
Given her age? She's 10. And her idea of acting is moving her eyes from side to side and down as she delivers dialog
She's pretty much a veteran actor at this point and she's even a producer.
Absolutely stunning??? Wtf dude
Ooookay ... I guess haters gonna hate... 🤷♂️
@@michaausleipzig Don't worry about it, some fans truly just seem miserable. This series had its faults but some of the nitpicking makes you wonder whether these people are capable of enjoying anything at all. Vivien did a great job as a young Leia.
Yes Bail Organa is technically “part” of the Empire as part of the Imperial Senate. Before the Death Star destroyed Alderaan, Grand Moff Tarkin explains that the Emperor dissolved the Imperial Senate.
All the bad things Vader has done and as far he had fallen is what makes the redemption all the more great. That one small spark of Anakin that's left managed to claw its way through the darkness and come to the surface
I still don't like him or the people who think he deserves to live.
@@user-xr3ul2xc1lI don't think anyone cares. Still the best character in Star wars. And top 2 villain in history

Cal Kestis: 👀
For Darth Vader’s voice, they used a software program called ReSpeech which is able to recreate a voice based on recordings of someone’s voice. They used all of James Earl Jones’s recorded lines from Episodes IV-VI to get the recreation as exact as possible.
James Earl Jones also came in and recorded lines to give ReSpeech a sort of guide for choosing inflections, pauses, abs stresses.
So what you hear in screen is completely computer generated.
You beat me to it. Explained very well.
I'm glad James Earl Jones is still credited, because it is still a performance even so.
I kinda hope this is like what star trek did with majel barret. As she voiced the ships computer, she recorded a heap of lines/sound clips so that after she passed they could continue to have her voice as the computer.
@@mikeyc2110 it’s not. For that, they’re using her recordings in the film. For this, the computer is completely creating something new. They type in the dialogue into the computer, then the AI creates the voice, using data on James Earl Jones’s voice, and speech patterns.
The one shortcoming of the software is by itself, while it can replicate the voice spot on, on its own, it doesn’t sound 100% natural in the way it flows. To remedy this, they have someone, preferably the original actor, come in and record the lines as they would if it was in the show. This gives the program the map it needs to flow naturally.
@@ColdWarShot yeh I know. I guess I just hope they could use this to do something similar.
If this made you feel that Star Wars magic.. there’s more than a few moments in the Mandolorian that will illicit that feeling.
More than more than a few
Respectfully, I believe that you mean "elicit," not "illicit," which is a different word (I'm not trying to be one of _those_ people, I just wanted to let you know)
I read somewhere that the suit Vader is in keeps him in constant pain in order to harness as much anger as possible out of Vader because the more anger, the more power. I’m not sure if it’s true, however it helps me understand why and how Anakin went from this sweet boy into this angry monster :(
I think it's not so much that it keeps him in pain, but that it doesn't really do anything to alleviate his pain despite the technology being available by this time. Though I guess it amounts to the same thing for the purposes of keeping him an angry monster.
@@jmhaces that makes sense too i’d imagine he’d still be in a lot of pain considering he basically has no limbs 💀💀
Palpatine made sure that his suit is very uncomfortable. His only pain relief is in the Bacta tank.
@@jmhaces The suit also causes pain. The interior of his helmet is ladened with needles that pierce into his skin. And the suit was purposefully made itchy to irritate Vader and fuel his connection to the dark side
@@rithvikmuthyalapati9754 We are talking about someone with extreme, lava-created burns, and amputated limbs. I can't imagine such a person ever being comfortable.
When you're done with the Obi-Wan series, I would highly recommend you check out The Mandalorian series. You will really, really enjoy it. I'm pretty sure (99.9999%) you're going to fall in love with a particular character.

I know it's a long slog, but the backstory is really worth watching "the clone wars" and "Rebels" to really understand what's coming in the Star Wars episodic universe. Ashoka might be the most interesting storyline of the entire universe.
Clone wars is too much for me. There's way too many episodes. The ones I've seen are super good though. And Rebels has one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars. If someone could make an abridged version of those, I'd be really happy.
@@joshuajackson472 Tried clone wars and season 1 is the most boring kid show i ever seen. Not worth spending your adult time to slog thru that crap. Ashoka is nothing, only for adult kids. Star wars is not a kid show. No matter how much you nerds try to make it into a money factory for kids.
@@memento5113 it's all just modern mythology, and different people attach to different parts. For me, all that really matters is Lucas's 6ep cycle. But there's still some good story telling in some of the other Star Wars stuff. Mostly I'm just into the Taoism inspired stuff. The Force is the Tao. ☯

@@pauljjeppson6530 it really is. I love the way the characters are fleshed out in it, especially Eva Green and David Thewlis' characters as well as Saladin. One of the main things I like about the movie is the respect some of the characters show for their opponents .That belief that just because we are enemies doesn't mean we can't respect one another always reminds me of a line by Peter Otoole's character in the movie Troy " ... you're my enemy right now, but even enemies can show respect", and I think that principle is embodied by various characters in the movie (don't wanna give out too much in case anyone reading this hasn't seen it). In a cut scene from episode 3 Padme, Bail Organa, and on Mothma were among those discussing and drawing up the founding documents of the rebellion before Anakin became ader and Palpatine declared himself Emperor as a contingency for what they saw coming. They just were not prepared to how it happened. So the Rebellion was always in the wotks. If the events of Rogue One and A New Hope hadn't happened the Rebellion would have shortly been wiped out. Around the time the Death Star blew up.
Can’t wait to see you watch the last 2 episodes from Obi wan Kenobi next week.
The casting director had a nearly impossible task in looking for a child actor to portray young Leia. They had to find someone who could project intelligence, courage, and budding leadership ability while avoiding the pitfalls of child actors: being obnoxious, annoying, or precocious. And of course, she had to actually be able to act, and not just 'kid acting', either. They hit the jackpot with Vivien Lyra Blair. She's remarkable. Carrie Fisher would have been immensely proud of her.
Unfortunately, the miserable writing makes her quite obnoxious at times.
The “Quinlan” that gets mentioned in the safe house is one of Obi-wan’s closest Jedi friends (even if Obi-Wan gets exasperated by Quinlan all the time). They never revealed his fate so it’s great for fans that he is revealed to have survived Order 66 and could appear in an upcoming series
Can’t wait. Quinlan was also one of the few Jedi to beat Count Dooku in a duel
@@pop-culturecinephile8144 Didn't he even fall to the Dark Side for a while and come back? It's been a while. If I recall, Obi-Wan was the only one on his side when he came back to the Light. It would make sense that he's out saving younglings.

6:48 This is probably just an Easter egg. In the original script of RETURN OF THE JEDI, when Obi-Wan's spirit speaks to Luke on Dagobah, he revealed that Owen Lars are as actually his biological brother, not Anakin's stepbrother.
Disney magic is gone. It got corrupted. But do hold on to that childhood magic. It's not Disney, it's our wonderous souls celebrating joy. Much love.

So you probably know this but the other two inquisitors have learned their place through respect not being the loudest person in the room like Reva also that symbol carved on the hideout wall was the Symbol of The Jedi Order
Been waiting for these for awhile!
Bail Organa is a senator of Alderaan and since the (Old) Republic was turned into the Empire, all sentors became part of Empire as senators of the Imperial Senate (which wouldn't be dismanteled until A New Hope at the same time as The Death Star was complete). Since the once democratic Republic have turned into a dictatorship, the senators have no power over laws and political decisions but could slightly influence Emperor Palpatine if what hears suits him (if not he would in the best case dismiss them or in the absolute worst case arrest the senators and probably executed) but they were more of advisor roles than making any impact like they did in The Republic. He just had to play along while in secret support The Rebellion which he and Senator Mon Mothma formed (in a couple of deleted scenes from Revenge of the Sith, which I highly recommend you to watch as they flesh out more layers, to counteract Chancellor Palpatine's chaning of laws, including appoint governors for each System, a group of senators including Organa, Mothma and Amidala started a group in order to make diplomacy resume and to make Palpatine return his emergency powers so a new Chancellor would be elected as he sat far longer than he should have according to Republic law,). If he was revealed of being a part of The Rebell Alliance, he would be arrested and replanted with another senator who would more or less be a puppet of the Empire. Rememer in A New Hope when Vader captured Leia and said "You're part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor! Take her away!" and got jailed on the Death Star!
I loved this series and I'm happy you are enjoying it!
Quinlan(who Obi Wan mentions as being a member of the Path)was a Jedi who was a bit more unconventional. Last we heard of him was in a story called "Dark Disciple"(one of the good new canon books).
The creature that Obi Wan finds in the first tank is Tera Sinube. He appears in "Clone Wars", he was a guardian for one of the youngling clans and a Jedi with a great deal of knowledge on the criminal underworld. He appears in one of the best episodes of the series.
These next two episodes are epic. There was a lot of hate coming from people about Obi Wan but I believe it redeems itself in the next two. Put it this way, I was 11 years old when I saw SW in the theaters in 1977. Episode 6 brings back that feeling I felt as a kid. Enjoy them.
I think a lot of the hate is from non Star Wars fans and trolls who don’t belong in the SWU. Ewan put out a a short video over his disgust of the treatment of Reva.
@@dreamer2355 I have been a star wars fan since seeing RotJ in theaters. the writing on this show is lacking. part of the problems is K. Just because people don;t like something you do does not make them haters. The show has its good movement but it has a lot of issues as well.
@@dreamer2355 This isn't true. The show is poorly and cheaply written, it's paper-thin and they probably decided to move it from theaters to a Plus series because they never planned to invest much into it. Ewan McGregor is incredible as always but he's running in a sandbox while people chase him. Though all of the inquisitors' writing leave something to be desired, Reva is also poorly cast. She's not intimidating or convincing as an imperial leader and I don't know why people would defend her of all people, she's not very important.

Part of the reason I think they never really took time in the movies to linger on the loss is because all these people are at war and in war in the moment you can't take time to grieve. If you hesitate you can die. The grief has to happen after the battle is done and everyone is safe. In this moment, though, the Rebellion hasn't started and these people aren't soldiers; they're civilians trying to help bring back freedom. They haven't been desensitized yet and every death for them is hard and that's why we get the moment to see it.
