i agree with what u said about lines. i think regardless of how many lines the members have, we need to remember that all the members were handpicked to be in this group. just these seven made it into the group in a huge successful company like SM and that's such an honour and achievement!

taemin is a really diverse vocalist you should check out some of his solos like Day & Night or Rise which are his more slower and sentimental songs but then he also has powerful songs like Shadow (which is one of his best b-sides)

But you really need to check out more Taemin songs. His voice has very little processing in "I Can't Stand The Rain". I recognized it as his immediately. He's actually a very versatile vocalist and he sings plenty of songs with that "more forward" sound, although it's true that most of his latest releases and his most famous ones have that softer, silkier, sexier sound. Check out "Soldier", "Danger", "Love", "Eclipse" or "Mars".

2Fast is definitely hybrid of EXO and SHINee, that’s why that song is my favorite off the album.

Ten was the first NCT member who had solo. He has 2 songs:
1. Dream in a Dream(2017)
2. New Heros(2018)
The high note is probably Taemin's, it sounds like him or Baekhyun but he's singing the lower part so it's not likely him, both of them did those high notes in the past and both of them are very skilled vocalists, definitely of the top 10 male SM vocalists and top 20 male kpop vocalists
Also wait till you see TVXQ's Jaejoong, Taeyong is like his little copy, you know that SM copies their artists? Those 2 are copies (not in a bad way) and Jaejoong is the original kpop visual
Taemin and Kai are like twins, they look the same, they sound the same and they act the same, both are 2 of the best dancers but I'd say the first 2 lines sounded like Kai but as he went higher it sounded more like Taemin, Taemin's voice is more honey-like, but they do sound very similar, I guess we'll have to wait for the live version to confirm
This group is a blessing, SM just combined 2 of the best kpop vocalists, 3 of the best dancers and 3 of the best rappers together, thanks to this combination they have SO MUCH potential in their hands, it's crazy and actually if you combine SHINee's discography, EXO's discography and NCT's discography (yes I count WayV as NCT because they are part of it, deal with it) you get exactly the sound and style of all these songs

11:37 it definitely sounds like Taemin but I also do think he sounds a little bit like Jongin here. I think it’s because his voice is usually kinda sultry but in here, it sounds more harsh.
Listen to Taemin in Tiger, Mars, Eclipse and Monologue, Shadow for example Thirsty, Never for Ever and Soldier he sounds amazing in every style, his range is just really good. With Shinee listen to him in An Encore, Orgel, Beautiful, Excuse Miss, Selene 6.23, Everybody, you will hear his vocals different and deep...He was trained by Jonghyun, Onew and Key he has the training to do this, so no help from machines, training since 2008 with some of the best vocalists in SM

I mean I understand where they’re coming from and I know it might not be fair but you don’t need to comment the same thing under every frickin video. like, we get it! can I see a comment appreciating the vocals?
also not only that, but I’ve seen some comments bashing baekhyun and saying he got too many lines and it should’ve gone to Ten, I don’t think people realize that Baekhyun is the main vocal and most of his parts would be difficult for Ten to do 😐

Taemin actually has diverse vocals. He uses different voices for different songs. You should listen to Soldier, Under My Skin, Love, and Rise. These are some of his powerful ballads. Also different are Shadow and Danger.
For me it's Taemin voice in I can't stnd the rain. I can recognise his voice miles away.
Super car give me of NCT vibes. This song remember me of Ten - New Heros when they sing "Drifting, drifting, drifting"

The way they sing is similar. This song is similar of some songs that NCT has.

About the album, all teh songs are good.
I like them in this order:
1. I can't stand the rain
2. No manners and Super Car
3. 2 fast
4. Jopping
I've watched them live and Taemin has such versatile voice, yes he sounds like Kai for a few moments but when you will be used to his voice you'll see how versatile he is(Day and night it's a very beautiful song when you can clearly hear his singing range which is build up step by step since he get high high notes) I just love so much his voice and dance moves because he is unique in kpop really.

People keep asking me who my bias is and I have no clue. I love them all. Taeyong always comes for me no matter what group he is in, and when you see his personality he is so soft and adorable. I actually cant wait to see you get to know their "non-performance" personalities becasue they are all amazing!

On my first album listen, I also thought it was Kai opening I Can't Stand The Rain, but unlike you I'm actually very familiar with Taemin's voice (Shawol & Taemint here) yet I was still convinced it was Kai. I'm glad it wasn't just me! ICSTR is my favorite off the album. How the heck do you have your albums already?! I pre-ordered mine (Kai version) almost 3 weeks ago from Amazon and still don't even have a shipping notification yet; I'm prime too. So jealous! I can't wait for mine to come in. That high note in Jopping was definitely Baekhyun and Taemin together. I adore the instrumental to death. My personal album ranking:

Tbh people complain about the lines because Ten and Lucas aren’t treated well at all compared to the others in this group. Like for WAYV they debuted with a song that was already released in two languages by NCT 127 but Chinese for WAYV. I love their song Take Off so much more than the Chinese version of Regular. People keep talking about the lines because it seems like people know it but are resigned to it. I find the lines in a couple of songs annoying but I still love the songs. When I first heard I can’t stand the rain Lucas got one tiny line and Ten maybe got one more line than him but live Lucas definitely sang/rapped (whatever) more than what was assumed by just listening.. whether it was changed for live performance or it was always like that idk and idc because he got to shine, so did Ten. I just highly dislike how SM is with their artists, they all deserve a shit ton better. My fave is super car, I cant stand the rain, jopping, no manners, and 2 fast. Listening to the last two with you here again made me like them more than the first listen. As usual, more listens I get into it a lot more. In the end, I still wonder why Lucas and Ten were put in the group when they don’t get to shine more than they did get to... 🤷🏻♀️ it’s annoying to me. They’re so talented. And Lucas barely gets to show it off properly. He and Ten owned Take Off imho! Anyways this was so much fun and despite line distribution bs, I enjoyed the entire album and their lives (about to start watching your reaction to those!!!!) more. I don’t mind folks voicing their opinion over Ten and Lucas because this is almost always how they’re treated. Folks are tired of it and shouldn’t be resigned to it just being as is. I want another WAYV comeback!

Taeyong is one of the writers and producers of No Manners. I can't remember in what magazine interview, but I read he wrote the rap part.
Please react to NCT U - Baby Don't Stop (which is basically to whole gate to Taeyong x Ten, it's their duet. Taeyong wrote his raps. They both contributed to the choreo, which is why MV ver. and live ver. are slightly different)
Then Ten - New Heroes (he's freestyling in the MV)
Then Taeyong - Long Flight (he wrote and co-composed it too) and NCT U - Yestoday Extended ver. (it's taeyong's personal project. he took years writing it. Mark also wrote his rap about his life there)

I think I already have recommended this, but I'm going to be that annoying person who keep recommending an artist. You should react to Loona. They have a very intricate storyline that I think you would enjoy.

Now that I have it written out, I remember why I don't like ranking songs on albums. I always feel bad for the lower-ranked ones because I really like Jopping and 2 Fast a lot. Also, gotta say that No Manners is a lock to go into a "bedroom" playlist if I ever decide to make one lol.

You have to check out line distribution, but I guess on 7:00 is Taemin who sings with Baekhyun, at the high high note I think it's only Baekhyun not sure!
ten does have two solos and lucas has a little sm station song but i doubt he would sing that so they’ll probably give him a stage

I like all of them, but I think that Ten is coming for me he wants to be my bias, Taemin is my bias already I like everyhing about him his voice, dancing moves and personality he is such a nice person, also Lucas is gorgeous I love his skin a littler darker he looks so good he is so young but damn his deep voice just make me like him more.
Kai and Baekhyun of course I love them.
Taeyong and Kai are my mom's fav ones and Mark is my sister's fav one.

That was a 100% Taemin's voice at the beginning of I Can't Stand the Rain, it does sound a little similar to Kai's when he sings in his lower register, but Kai's voice is a little deeper

At jopping they did a lot of layering with Baek's vocals, he sings over himself a lot and he most probably won't sing the highest note on the backgroud live when he says "set you free yeah". This is a very performance focused song so I assume they will play an instrumental with loud back vocals. Singing that insanely highnote later on the song live should be enough to blow ppl's mind anyway lol they can't do everything live.
In the live on Ellen it showed Taemin doing the high note in the back when Baek says Set you free. :)

My boy Taemin is very good but he has never sang that high and his falsetto/head voice doesn't have that much power for him to carry it that long. He has been working on it but still isn't as good as Baek. His falsetto can be heard in songs like Crazy 4 U , Day & Night but he usually goes for a fuller sound like this video: /watch?v=62ZrPccFC20

@Byul Berries YES^^^^ A lot of people say that Taeyong is overrated because he gets so much attention in NCT but I personally think that his talents are underrated af. We don't need to talk about his visuals because that speaks volumes by itself. But the things he does behind the scenes, his lyric writing (which is always witty and interesting), his composing, his choreographies and just basically being the best damn leader to such a big group is so so so underappreciated in my opinion.

I brought the group album because I couldn't decide. Ten is my ultimate NCT bias, but Lucas is one of my bias wreckers (plus during their unboxing vids, I liked his the most), and I couldn't pass on getting something Taemin. I think Taemin may be my bias or bias wrecker in this group. I don't know... it's between the 3 of them. But I got Taemin's photo card from when he was promoting his last album. I noticed that Ten and Lucas did a lot of backing vocals. But one thing that was settled during their Ellen performance, Baekhyun did the low note while Taemin hit that high note in Jopping. Baekhyun followed with his extra high note, and then Ten closed out that vocal section.
When you get into NCT, watch Softjun's Subpar guides. They are really good. She has unit guides and also individual guides. The individual guides doesn't spoil their music, but it gives you a good look into their personalities.
I love the way you both drink in the music, with attention to so many elements (lyrics, composition, harmony, distribution, etc) that I enjoy thinking about too. Thank you!

Okay so I love all the members of this group. I Stan all three groups. But I’m disappointed in SM.
Don’t get me wrong baek and taemin are absolutely amazing but they honestly stole basically all the lines of the other songs (not jopping even tho they did get the most it was better than the others)
I love all the members of this group but I just thought it would be more equal and not like this.
Lucas and Ten deserve better in this tbh.
And Lucas and kai got only 3 songs but kai got a lot of lines in all the songs he was in. Lucas was basically a backing vocal in all the songs he was in. Taemin was in all the songs and the others were in 4. For me it’s not a fair shake but I’m gonna give them a chance cos I think the actual centre stuff for the dance was alright kinda. Like I saw Lucas and Ten in the mv a fair bit in the middle so I’m okay with that.
Hopefully they can be fair the next time and give my guys real lines. Ten did get more than Lucas but they both got the least so for me it was sad. I will still watch all SuperM stuff tho cos I love all the members. Plus it’s not their fault it’s just SM being SM

Everybody in this world should watch and listen to "Dream in a Dream" by Ten. One of the best choreos and songs in the whole kpop industry. The M/V is just mesmerazing!

4) Super Car - love the beat but I'm gonna be honest I don't like the lyrics. Some were great but a lot were cringey to me
I really love this album but I do wish that Ten and especially Lucas were featured more. My biggest criticism is that none of these talented men had anything to do with these songs beyond performing them. Other then Taeyong's work on 'No Manners', none of them wrote or composed any of the songs. And that, honestly, seems like a huge and stupid missed opportunity. As good as this album is, imagine if even just Kai, Baekhyun, and Taemin had worked on any of these songs - even if it just those three only. I can't find anything about how long they plan on promoting this collab group but it does say '1st mini album' so I'm hoping that means there will be another album and I hope the next album will have more songs written and composed by the artists themselves. And hopefully Ten and Lucas will get more/longer parts.

Hello! I was one of those who were saying that it was Baekhyun with the first high note on Jopping 😂 Anyways, I really think that's him because during their live performance that part was all backtrack and the camera remained focused on Baek. They layered his high note with his low.

I'm rewatching this cause I enjoy your reactions. Will you please both react to Taemin's Day and Night MV. He wrote and co-composed that song and I think you will appreciate more his vocals. Lyrics kind of poetic cause Taemin's has a poetic soul.
So while re-watching this I think I found my SuperM bias lol Taeyong wrecked my soul with his visuals lmao! It's his eyes they are so damn gorgeous! It's the same thing that struck me about Xiumin in EXO it's the eyes ^^
Actually the one doing the high notes is Baekhyun and the one carrying it is Taemin listen closely and you'll hear carrying the high notes instead of Baekhyun

But yes I'm just so fucking bitter, but 0% suprised how dirty SM did Lucas & Ten.
They did exactly as I throught they would: get 2 members that are popular with sentimental OT21 NCT & China & Thai fans & bonus they're engl speakers , to get us more involved in buying.
You can say that we should just support SuperM as a whole, but we also can't just shrug and move on when they continue to treat the same members shitty for years.
Esp. when the time with SuperM means they pause work for/promotions with their actual group and WayV has just debuted.
I wish that Ten & Lucas have fun collabing with their friends, so it will be at least personally a good time for them hopefully.
But my hope that this will be a helpful promotion for them as artists & representatives of WayV is down to like 1%:
People don't become fans of the guys with no lines/screentime:
If the line distribution is correct then they got 7 sec for the title song (all shared lines for Lucas) and for Can't stand the rain (it's 1 sec for Lucas in that)!
And the live stages of their performances didn't help either, fancams like theultimatedodo were better than the official camera work concerning them...
(btw the highnotes could be Baek layered vocals cause in that live it looked like they used back-track for those parts, just random observation could be mistaken cause I was mostly concentrated on my NCT kiddos & Taemin ;P)
So I don't want to bring your joy down and I wish you all the fun with the concert & album, but yeah I'm just gonna look forward to a WayV CB :(

I know there will be people who will say stupid things, but that's it, I saw a few reactors on CZcams who commented in a very strange way like they ranked this MV jopping and also they were mean, but I think these people should stay in their place because they are not critics for real, I saw only 2 thanks God. From what I;ve seen so far 99% of people like SuperM this is important and I'm glad! I will support all of them, I don't want them to see mean comments because I saw them live and Taeyong was so shy OMG of course it's something new for them and they have emotions, also I like Baekhyun's attitude he is so strong he was super serious.
