- So now that we have bubbles... and our heater is in the mail. Let s figure out how to keep rain out and heat in... on the cheap
This cover is built out of 2" rigid foam, 6 mil vapor barrier, gorilla glue, and spray adhesive. If you have none of that to start it will probably run you 100 bucks.
Between the hot tub itself and the homemade cover, I am averaging about 10 degree temp loss in 24 hours if the hot tub is not on... not bad for a 105 degree hot tub sitting out in 50 degree weather overnight. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Great video. Thanks! What material did you glue onto the foam?
Thanks, that is just standard vapor barrier made to go un crawl spaces.... that happened to have lying around
So, im gonna go by the fiam at the "home dep ... driven store" coud you please hepl me by be pretty specific about what foam it is. It 2 inches thick. But like is it wall insulation or ceiling insulation... where, can you please help me find it?
Like the idea! Thanks for sharing, but dang it you stood in front of the finished product blocking almost all of it. Wouldve like to see finished bit 😢
Nice. Thanks for posting. I made one with cedar planks, but this is another great alternative to those crappy expensive soggy covers. Let me know what you think of mine on my channel!
right on. I ll take a look here shortly... just an update that cover survived the winter and is holding up so if you need one the concept is sound
I laid rigid foam over my hot tub and it leached into the water changing the color of my daughters hair, did you end up putting anything as a barrier to the foam on the under side?
no and have had no problems in over a year....maybe it was the brand?
