A morning out of the workshop, just to find this fat stupid little facker.

- What a morning, power was off in the shop.
The rcd was tripped and it wouldn't stay on. Fault somewhere in the shop wiring.
No phones, Internet of card machine until I found the problem.
Step one,
find out which electrical circuit is tripping the rcd.
Step two.
unplug everything in that circuit, to see if it's an appliance that is causing the fault. (everything unplugged, but rcd still trips)
Step three
check all the wires amd sockets that you can access. (no problems found, except a loose either wire)
Step four.
follow your nose, if it smells like something is dead close by, then that is your fault. follow the smell, find the fault.
One unluckily fat mouse couldn't fit through a hole, so he tried to chew through the wire blocking the hole.
And caused me to lose half a day's work when I'm already flat out.

Good thing about a workshop problem is you'll always have the right tools to hand 😊
How thoughtful of you to leave some treats for the little darlings afterwards.😁
You're a man of many talents, Dean. Keep up the good work.
Yes he's brilliant at fixing power tools but as an ex electrician I have to say that his wiring repairs under the floorboards look quite dangerous.
Talk about biting off more than you can chew, your Irish rat traps are definitely effective, though they're a bit labour intensive😁
He's still fresh completely unbelievable Dean 😂😂😂😂. Lucky to find it so easy mate 👍🏻 👍🏻👍🏻
nice one. careful that bait can attract them too
Two reasons for the gloves. Keeps the shite off your hands, keeps your sweat off the cables. Sweat reacts with the plasticiser in the PVC insulation and produces a smell that rats and mice are attracted to...and they chew the cable.
What a life, eh. Stuck, hungry, electrocuted. You have to take them seriously though, they can burn houses down if you don't kill them.
I had a similar problem just this week. But it was the actual switch, I check last, and had the change out. Luckily I didn't have to cut out anything or find any fat buggerz. Nice fix.
The poor chap was getting bigger as he was chewing...then he got fried 😂
Dealing with those little 'fackers' in our vehicles.
Little critters . I've caught a couple in my greenhouse they have been chewing my seedlings
We had about 5 mice end up in one of our 110 outlet boxes. We'd occasionally get a smell and couldn't find it. One day we decided to change out that outlet and out came a bunch of skeletons
Not sure if you are in the UK, but going from neutral to cpc without the incoming neutral isolated what you might have found there was actually a TNC-S... Also if in the UK or probably anywhere that fix is rough as old boots, awful.. Get yourself some wago connectors and wago boxes and do it properly, wrapping a connector block in insulation tape is not the correct way to fix that issue..
If it works it isnt wrong
@@smashyrashy Yeap..that's what I said fireman, after my house burned down... . I said, those shady wire connections could not be reason, because they worked.. .
@@smashyrashy That does not apply to this trade. You can have something that works but is unsafe. Nobody cares and it might work for years until one day the place burns down or someone gets electrocuted.
Wago is not a proper permanent fix.
Wago do have enclosures that meet code in the UK for inaccessible locations. Don't have to go wago for that tho.
The chosen solution is poor. Hopefully he came back a proper enclosure later
Nice vid Dean. Looking forward to the next one.
One of your best.😀👍
Absolutely classic, his arse hanging outta the hole
LOL🤣🤣😂😂😂
Nice herringbone strutting..
I remember years ago a mouse chewing thru some data cables at work. A mouse recking the computer system the irony was not lost on me
Great video, sent to ex-colleagues in a training college
Brilliant loved it
metal conduit for the win
That's why I did like screws fixing my loft boards. Well traced. The damage those little creatures can do seems out of all proportion.
Love your videos bro hahaha funny and we can learn along😊
Thanks Dean.
That is the best video I have seen in a while well done finding the wee cnut
Barbecued mouse anyone 🤔 with brown sauce of course 🤣🤣🤣
Nice one!
The rodent made a mousetake choosing your place for a wire snack. 😲
I am rubbish with electrics which may be why I like the _chicken sticks_ so much. They are bloody excellent IMO.
'tis the season. Good job.
Best thing you could have done with all that Dewalt tripe is chuck it in the floor void before replacing the boards 👍
W anchor
All creatures great and small, all creatures bright and beautiful. Until Mr Doherty finds them.BTW, this cable next to the copper pipe looks lethal
OK, I LOLed. I LOLed at a dead thing. How far I've fallen
Current overload. Obviously blew Fievels reverse switch.
this is why i just run extension leads everywhere. simple fault analysis!
You are very good love watching your videos I have a question I live in the us what do you recommend to buy a good impact that will tackle stubborn lug nuts
An impact wrench? Flex is the best brand
'The circle of life'
gotta love those UK "ring circuits"
gotta love those UK fused plugs
@@cliveramsbotty6077 Nobody else needs them. 🤣
@@cliveramsbotty6077😂 1940's design, still beats EU schucko plugs from the 30's.
@@bladeoflucatiel whats wrong with schuko plugs?
In a Chinese restaurant it would be a bonus meal...
I was fitting a new kitchen for a woman a few years ago, with a new electric cooker, she said the old one didn't work in years, so i knocked off the power and opened the cooker switch only to see a mouse welded across the terminal's he'd be there for years 😅
Mummified
It was a shocking event in that mouse's life...good fault finding. Do you think fault finding, fault analysis, problem solving can be taught? I have my doubts sometimes with these young guys sent out to fix things. Thanks for sharing!
Common sense is surprisingly lacking in all walks of life, I don't think it can be taught, most people really are just thick
A four legged draft excluder! 😂
Nice advertising for Chicago’s electrical code, 😂
I would have used Vertox Pasta Bait out of the paper not the blocks also place Vertox gel where the smear marks and runs are
4:52 there is no fix for that guy 🤣
Just had the same problem with our chest freezer rats ate through the wires. Lost a lot of good farm kill meat.
😊😊😊😊😊
Put down traps rather than poison, the smell would be cat with poison if you couldn't get to them
Those little bastards will actually chew through stranded copper wire, and I mean the copper strands themselves, not just the plastic, if they really want to get in.
Wee moose, i sentence you to the electric cable 😜👍🏴
Life, my friend, is a Lemon - and sometime (despite wealth, power or circumstance) we all have to bite it 🤣
well that was epic. bet you had no idea when you started filming what was going to develop.
You are right. I thought it was a simple earth fault with the till or key cutting machine.
Now we know how Danger Mouse died.
Poor little mousies… 😂
Sorry SOB tried to burn down the shop
that poor rat was too THICC for his own good.
Always leave a hole in the beams so the rodents can get through 😂 and use screws in the boards instead of nails and no tongue and groove 😉
Need a lot of air freshener too😂
Is the mouse certifried to work on electrical circuits
I thought this was going to be a DeWalt video
So you were talking about mice 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm from America. I assume a facker is mouse😂😂😂
Try, fooker.
Do you have link to your shop to buy tools
Sorry, it ant my shop. I work for a small local hardware shop. They don't have a online shop. It's all just old school counter sales. It's still hand write recites here. Not even a computer system let alone a website.
@deandohertygreaser just set up an email address for them. Payments can be made by bank transfer. Either that or create your own shop
@@deandohertygreaserThe old school way is nice(in it's own ways)! There's an old family-run Lumber & hardware place here(Buffalo NY) that still hand writes the receipt on those big old metal 'receipt' boxes that hold the roll of carbonless, duplicate receipt paper, got the hand crank on side to advance paper. They have a 3-ring binder with pricing of all the stuff they sell too, no computers!! They make $ change from their pocket...no electronic cash register - i think he might have an old hand crank, mechanical button register inside too. They have a book to write down the businesses 'credit' and you just pay it once a month. It's nice to see them surviving even though Home Depot is not to far away from them. Their quality of wood is far better than big box stores though. Also, they have many things you can't find elsewhere, especially things for older houses(circa 1900 built). Anyways nice to see you sorted out the ⚡🐀 problem there! 👍🏻👌⚡🐀💯💥🔌💨🛠️
He chew a lot of cable before getting zapped
I think it died of asphyxiation as it's chest could not expand fully and it's legs were stuck by it's head.
