Such a stunning bus and sounds wonderful
D 124 Gearbox with constant mesh engagement of 3rd gear - lovely gearbox to use, so positive. Still Haven't worked out if this a 6.1 or 7.4 petrol engine but both are very 'torquey' at low revs. Beautiful buses to drive and I have happy memories of T31 and ST922 from L.B.M. at Brooklands.

For 91 years old that sounded absolutely superb - not far off perfection 👌! Excellent work to those that worked on the restoration of the bus 😊👍👏👏👏👏👏!!!!!
At the Oxford Bus Museum, AEC Regent / Park Royal PWL 413 (1950's) sounds similar. Very musical except for the top gear 😅.

Yes, a beautifully tuneful gearbox! I've always wondered if certain AEC boxes were more musical than others? Coach Reliance's never seemed to have such a noticeable whine as Regent buses. Be great if you have any info?
