This worst thing that this movie did, was have absolutely incredible trailers and marketing.
N-Gin & TonicTM I know this comment is old but honestly I cannot agree more. They had set up this transformers universe, they hired a writers room to plan out future films. This was OFFICIALLY bays last film. Everyone was hyped. The trailers looked amazing. Everyone speculated that Megatron was gonna be fighting and evil prime and be on the good side for once. The plot seemed awesome. Everything was literally too good to be true for this movie. And they absolutely fucked it up. I have a feeling somewhere in the editing room or in a screenwriter a good version of this film exists. But it is not what they gave us. The worst thing about this film was the final nail in bays transformers. It didn’t have over the top humor. It didn’t have too bad of dialogue. It didn’t do a lot of what the previous films did. No, but absolutely, The most criminal offense this movie did, which will kill any franchise. Was just be completely boring. It was all over the place. The story had too much going on. And the battles promised in the trailer/ marketing. Evil optimus vs bumblebee & Megatron. Autobots vs dragon transformer. All that, never came to be. And it finally did what all the other transformers movies before failed to do. Kill bayformers. By being boring. At least the music and cgi was amazing. RIP bayformers. I honestly will miss your creativity when the reboot goes full on boring G1 with no artistic style outside of 80s call backs

@@SourRobo8364 I completely agree, but to be fair nowadays as blockbusters like the MCU are moving to a larger universal, or multiversal, scale, and hence their perception of how much CGI they require may be overlooked and may end up to be too much to make everything look real but end up a bit fake due to its overuse. But other than, CGI in here was the best of our time in terms of quality so far

Though I appreciate his efforts in giving us a great visual of his directorial skills in terms of the immersive experience, I can agree that he did not take into account the emotional stroytelling that could've been a strong enforcement in attracting his audience to a compelling and well-told plot

I honestly believe that Michael Bay has potential with these movies. He clearly had big ideas especially on this movie, which was obviously not translated well plot-wise. Those were really the only ones missing from these otherwise ambitious cinematic universe.

Transformers The Last Knight is a cinematic masterpiece because Michael Bay understands the power of using aspect ratios to evoke a feeling of terror and get the atmosphere of war very accurate. Easily the aspect ratios and blacks bars consistently changing every single shot are a testament to Michael Bay's unmatched talent as a director.

@@yama8667 I really wanted to see how his story ended, I wanted to see him with a family of his own and dealing with the responsibilities of being a parent, while still helping out the Autobots because their family to him.
I wanted to see his kids going on their own adventures in their teens with an Older Sam doing his best to guide them through the world as a father while protecting them from the Decepticons.
I never got that, instead we get a human protag change to an inventer who's honestly so boring to me that I wanted Sam back so much. I gave Cade a chance and I didn't like him, in 5 he's ten times worse than he is in 4.
I also didn't like the relationship his 17 year old daughter had with that 21 year old like that was disgusting.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm just really disappointed that Sam's story was never finished and his whereabouts were left ambiguous in 5. Like is he dead or in jail? I don't know, the movie never explained it.

You should be able to tell where the fender exhaust pipe, bumpers, or whatever parts are unique to that Autobot came from and went during as well as after it has Transformed.

T2. Actually, there's a thing that makes energy in Egypt, so we don't need the All Spark to survive or create more of our kind. And turns out that Megatron is not the Decepticons' boss.
T3. No, T1, Megatron's purpose on Earth was to meet with Sentinel Prime and use humans as slaves to rebuild Cybertron. Also, everyone's fine and not even the dormant Decepticons on the moon need the energy to survive.
T4. Actually, we didn't really need the All Spark at all, for millions of years we've had the technology to turn carbon based life into new material to create Transformers.
I still don't know what T5 is about, but there are things that don't add up. Like how the knights fit in the history already told in T2 by that old guy, and if the prophecy was already known, why conquer Earth if it's gonna get eaten at some point?
I could go on, but whatever.

When I knew Stanley Tucci's character here was named "Merlin", took me back to the time I watched Kingsman The Secret Service where there was also a character named "Merlin" and I actually thought *THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON!* when I looked it up to google they actually are different actors, one was American and the other was British. I thought I was the only one who noticed it but when I type the one person's name in the search bar, both the actors name showed up 😂😂😂
The visuals, music, action scenes and some of the performances still held the movie together.

Agreed. Sure this movie was messy and the set-up for a sequel should have been scratched with what we now 4 years later. Anyways, I still love this movie. It is truly epic, in such a massive scale I don’t believe will ever be matched for a motion picture. The scale and stakes in the last 45 min is enormous, the visuals is so gorgeous, it is so macho and adrenaline inspiring. I wished they focused more on the storylines that worked though and developed them more, like the King Arthur mythology, Optimus meeting his maker and Cade being more with Izzy than Vivian. The humour was either fantastic or terrible, but I kinda dig Bay for always going 100% with his comedy even if it doesn’t work. And I truly believe Sir Anthony Hopkins have never had so much fun in a movie before like this one. I always laugh my ass off seeing him and Cogman f*ck around, it’s so hilarious 😂 I actually blame Paramount and producer DiBonaventura more than Bay for TF5 downfall. A shame everyone just blames everything on Bay everytime. Nobody makes a movie look, feel and sound as awesome, epic and ridicilous as him.
It would be so cool if Sam Witwicky would just show up right when Optimus prime is trying to kill bumblebee.

After 3 years this trailer still gives me chills
I got a chance to watch the franchise over again a couple of weeks ago and honesly, I truly enjoyed it. The last knight for sure is one of my favorite out of the 5. I do however understand why people may have disliked it. I felt like two movies would of allowed more development and connection with the story and characters. They also completely disregarded certain things from the previous films. Overall, it's still a good movie to watch.

Things that could have been done to this film...
- bring back NEST as a retconed Transformers Exterminators, not TRF. They capture any potential Autobots or Decepticons that surrender, while Decepticons or hostile transformers are outright killed, hence why Lennox is there
- give Cade and the girl an interesting father/daughter arc since Cade can't see Tessa anymore.
- Optimus willingly turns bad for redemption due to a bit of Quntessa's infection which probably spreads to some of the Dinobots. So Dinobot V Dinobot action.
- Megatron and his Decepticons fights with the humans because he doesn't want Quintessa to enslave him.
- Bumblebee gets the right voicebox and needs to learn to get used to using it leading to his ability to talk.
- Quintessa is slain (as in killed) after her grip on Optimus and the Dinobots is lost.
- alt #1 Megatron dies at the hands of Quintessa, refusing to submit to her
-alt #2 Megatron and Optimus finally settle their differences and become brothers again, agreeing to help each other rebuild Cybertron.
While this happens; Cade and Megatron can also have interactions, exploring their characters and confilct, eventually leading to the film's conclusion. Codman is a very wise and calm charancter full of wisdom, no nonsense, and he helps Cade during the films darkest hour.
