Michael really went through the Winchester family as far as vessel possessing goes. He was destined to possess and obsess Dean but he had to settle for John and Adam for a while, then Michael 2 got to take Dean for a spin before meeting his demise at the hands of a very powerful Arch Nephilim in Jack. But who played it best? Jensen Ackles as Dichael, Matt Cohen as Jichael or Jake Abel as Aichel? In this video I explore all those nuances and provide my opinion on who did it best.

My channel is focused on creating content about my favorite TV show Supernatural, from reactions to analysis videos, reviews, ending explained videos, top 10 lists, theories and everything in between. Supernatural story follows two brothers (Sam and Dean Winchester) who are out to kill every evil thing in this world. When Dean was 4 yrs old and Sam only 6 months old; their mother (Mary) was killed, their father (John) was determined to find and kill the demon who killed his wife. Raising the boys as "HUNTERS" of all things evil. Their motto: SAVING PEOPLE, HUNTING THINGS, THE FAMILY BUSINESS. After John's death the boys continue the family business with the help of a few other hunters and Supernatural allies like the angel of the lord Castiel and king of h*ll Crowley, traveling cross country, killing as many monsters as possible and saving as many people as they can. And at the same time they learn that "Family don't end with blood". They will do whatever it takes to save each other and their "FAMILY". Going up against demons, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, H*llhounds, Leviathans, Djinns, Ghouls, demigods, witches, Wraiths, Ghosts, Wendigos, spirits, Changelings, Jefferson Starships, Clowns, Scarecrow, the four horsemen, angels and even Archangels like Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael among other things. They lose family and find new people they call family. They have gone to heaven and h*ll for each other and will do it all over again. Cause that's what FAMILY does and "Family don't end with blood". Follow the adventures of the awesome son of a bi*ch Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester who lost his shoe and is deathly afraid of clowns, on their journey to avert the next apocalypse and save the world. I like Jake’s performance a lot but young John was my favourite Michael vessel. His smirking condescension; treating Dean like a sulky child throwing a tantrum and his calm confidence that Dean was going to fall in line eventually really sold him as someone used to having his orders followed without question
He nailed that stern authoritarian with a side of smug self righteousness.
I changed my mind the more I rewatched 15x08. I love them both equally. Jake just rounded off everything that I loved about this JohnMichael.
SCENE SPECIFIC SPOILERS
What sold me was rewatching the scene between him and Cas and although I initially thought he attacked Cas because Cas hit a nerve with his comments, he is actually assessing Cas from the moment he walks in. He’s keeping a poker face and waiting for an opening. The way he grabs him and launches him over the desk is too well planned and controlled to be in the heat of the moment. He lets Cas carry on with his speech, moving closer and closer to him until he is within striking range.
He was the perfect authoritarian, a believable general. Jake as Michael was a total badass. He was the Michael we get when the convincing and calm approach fails. His was the Michael who commandeered the heavenly host and beat Lucifer into hell.
I think both of them gave performances that were really complimentary of one another and really cohesive to the character.
John was the perfect Michael.

I loved the new Michael (15x08), but before young Jonh's Michael was also my favorite. I was never fond of Michael but now I have become a huge fan. The kid playing Adam has become an awesome actor :D
Well the Matt Cohen is the first actor to portray Michael I believe. Then we got Jake Abel, the actor who plays Adam Milligan/Michael. Christian Keyes and Jensen Ackles as Apocalypse World Michael. They’ve all been amazing as the character.

I agree Adam did a awesome job of capturing the same gracefullness Cohen had for our world supernatural.. I have admit both made me a Michael Fan and was sad he got wiped out
Everything I said to Justify my theory for years that our Michael was Redeemable was mainly from Matt Cohen's Debut and obviously Chuck leaving him but it's all in the first impression. Unlike AU Michael he is a slightly darker and more Stuck up version of Dean only with real reason to want to kill the kittle brother he loves. But he tells Dean he won't leave him a drooling mess. His capacity for Love is shown even though it's a little more Diabolical the way he puts it but still Kripke brought us a tired Archangel who just wanted his father to return and give him answers. Some sweet character growth moving forward with Adam now at 1 with him and I am so damn thrilled to have him back 💪 I never tire of Zach's Death :D

@@harruar7214 An Angel who was trying to kill 1 of the linchpins of the Apocalypse he was helping to bring which so happens to be 1 of our main characters and didn't really care which Winchester got erased in the process? He's also probably killing her for 'Future' crimes against him including this episode because this isn't Anna's first crime against Heaven's will and lesser angels had already been tasked with killing her long before this in the present times. She was no soldier of his. "Angels Are Dicks" - Erik Kripke and It's only Cas, Anna, Gabriel, Michael, Lucifer and Metatron (For a brief time) that have shown vulnerability like Humans namely Abandonment issues and Love for God and or for humanity. I did write he puts in a Diabolical way but if he was completely devoid of love why would he go into such detail about how he still cares for his younger brother and father? In my opinion he is showing Dean that in many ways they are not that different. But it's only 1 fan's opinion and I don't expect everyone to see it as I do

In the Supernatural Universe, God is such a tricky character. Free will reigned only when he was absent. Otherwise, he never allowed the past, present and future to happen. He wrote it. He never planned it. He penned it.

@@deliriumsrealm8619 I'd need a bit more proof but honestly an interesting theory well done :) In terms of Chuck not being God I have wondered if maybe there is another more powerful God that even Chuck doesn't know about since the Multiverses were introduced. There truly isn't anything better to speculate about than SPN. If Chuck is beyond redemption which is how it seems at this point I want to see Michael with his new more friendly persona to rule heaven again and save it, but instead of Raphael helping him to bring order to heaven I'd want a resurrected Gabriel to join him in restoring Heaven.

Michael was the angel’s “general”, but they also had Raphael. Why didn’t Michael and Raphael team up on Lucifer? If Michael told Dean that he’d get Raphael to also fight Lucifer and it would be an easy fight that would reduce casualties, Dean would’ve probably said yes

I will always love johns the most. He looks more like a m8chael but Adam nailed the performance. Inherit the earth episode was fantastic acting

I always liked that Angels had no free will, which is why Michael as a character was portrayed mostly so. Life is a learning process even for them, even though they are capable of feeling emotions as humans too. But they were not fit to question things from a selfish perspective, which sometimes is best for an individual, thus free will.

I never got in the early season why original Michael didn’t take Sam as a vessel. He need a Winchester and Sam is a Winchester. He could have stopped Lucifer from the start

It's a little odd that alternative Michael in his perfect vessel is weaker than OG Michael in Adam, cuz you know alternative Michael couldn't cast anything while the archangel cuffs were on him.

Can we just talk for a minute about how they told Sam and Dean that they were direct descendants of Cain and Abel, and then the actor who plays Adam, his last name IS Abel? So weird.
If we are using the respective time line of Dean in hell time line and a simple math equation, Dean in hell: earth time: 3 months= hell time:40 years. Then Adam in hell: earth time: 10 years=hell time: 1,600 years. Just FYI. Don't know if this is something that supernatural will use but for now.

I don't know if this was ever resolved, but couldn't, technically, Michael use Sam as a vessel and for that matter Lucifer use Dean?
Hell it was a never-completed fanfic of mine where that happened(with a mini change being that Lucifer can possess without consent which makes more sense for the angel who rebelled to possess like a demon and not an angel). I wanted it so that the cage could and would suck him back in if he didn't have an appropriate vessel, hence all the tests Sam underwent to insure he was right. Only, since Dean was unexpectedly there too, boom he gets possessed instead. Thwarting any attempt to defeat him, since in my story Michael couldn't take Sam because of the demon blood.
In the end I think nobody will be able to kill god but sam and dean

to be honest, it feels like the writers completely forgot that they exist. Seriously, I don't remember a moment where they were ever even mentioned again after that episode. I honestly thought that they'd be a major threat this season, when the gates opened. Huge disappointment and missed opportunity.

@@markcoleman8236 No he's not. Adam can sustain Michael because his father is John Winchester. John was also able to sustain Michael without issue. However just because they can sustain Michael doesn't mean they are his true vessel. Michael although powerful in pretty much any vessel that can actually hold his being he will never be more powerful than what he is while inhabiting his true vessel. It was stated specifically even by cubit that it was a high order from heaven that John and Mary specifically were required to be in union with each other which is why cubit was tasked with shooting them with the love arrow. Also the arch Angel's speak of this aswell. It was specifically John and Mary that would produce the perfect vessels in order to bring about the apocalypse. John and some other woman having a child or Mary and another man would not make the perfect vessels. They would be able to sustain the arch Angel's but they would never fit quite aswell as the true vessels nor would they be as powerful in the other vessels. Again Michael from alternate universe was in a vessel that could hold him but when given the opportunity to obtain Dean his true vessel he gave up the host with little issue even though it could sustain him.

Like when he said michael was a drooling mess (though maybe he thought he was crazy because michael was talking to adam the whole time). Let’s also not forget that michael could still open a rift to purgatory while bound by the handcuffs. AU michael couldn’t create portals and couldn’t do anything when in those same handcuffs
