  • Mini Punjab's Lake Side - This place was really great. You do need to call a day in advanced if you want to try the Thali like this. If not you can come in same day and try their buffet which also seemed to be a very popular option!

    23:00 You are right Max! When someone is sick and has to eat light then they eat that rice dish, it is called Khichdi or Dal Khichdi. There are many varieties of Khichdi available. It is a simple one pot type of recipe. I love it for it's simplicity.

      @@dailymax24 Max, do you plan to visit Indore some day? It is the cleanest city of India and is also known as the city of foodies. Do visit "Chappan", "Rajwada" and "Sarafa bazar". Ask some people what is the best dish in the area and tell them not to add excess cheese. Do some research before going there.

    You are right, Indian vegetarian foods are so tasty. The only thing I knew that Indian food in India has more sodium than the ones in California (maybe depending on where you went), but that’s how my husband and I had experienced when we were there on 2014 😂

    22:35 I'm surprised at how easily you came up with the right explaination for that dish. Its called Khichdi. Youre right its made with Lentils (Daal) and rice and a little salt. Thats it. And its a very simple light dish. Mostly had when someone falls sick and needs fast recovery or made for elderly people who cant eat a lot of spicy and oily foods. So if you didnt know that beforehand, you got that spot on!

    18:56 You know Max, Fried Idli is actually a thing but not that one. It's usually prepared/made when you like have some leftover idlis which are then broken into pieces and fried with some mustard seeds, salt, chilly powder and turmeric. Love yours videos Max! Keep on doing such great work!

    Watching this at 4:10 in the morning & my mouth is full of water!!!!! I can't do anything as nothing's open yet to go and eat.... What I liked the most is the way you guys adopted to Indian culture. You are eating the food the way it is meant to be. Good going guys.

    32:07 The halwa was dusty because this is Punjabi halwa made of yellow lentils (skinned green gram bean lentils) 👉Moong Ki Daal and the Halwa is called Moong Ki Daal Ka Halwa 🤌
    The one you guys generally eat everywhere is the Suji Halwa 👉 Semolina, i.e., Ciao ❤️ Tata 💕

      all the spices came from south ...so don't just say punjabi...punjabi food has a limit .....there are many food which are far better than punjbai food

      @@executorben9800 nope, all the spices were traditionally grown in punjab or surrounding areas.
      there is a reason, most punjabi food is mild,compared to others in india.
      degi mirch and saffron from kashmir, red pepper from rajasthan/sindh. black pepper aam/aamchur from sindh. cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, kadi pata, locally grown.
      south indian spices did not travel/were expensive due to transportation. these traditional dishes predate india as a country.

    22:55 is khichdi, rice and dal cooked together. And you got it right, it's a classic comfort dish when you're sick as it is super light on the stomach, yet very nutritious. Love it!
