In cold climates there can be conditions where extremely slippery ice is dusted with a light amount of dry snow. This is perhaps the worst because the risk is camouflaged under the snow. If you are not expecting it, you will find yourself on your back or head so fast, looking up at the stars (figuratively or actually). It’s like a snow booby trap. I had this happen will carrying my three year old daughter across a parking lot. I reacted quickly enough to get one leg under me but I sprained my ankle in the process and it took 6 weeks to recover. Of course driving can be even worse, but everyone is trained on how to handle it. It’s the first snow that’s riskiest because there’s always someone who has not adjusted from summer time driving.
After being married for 30 years, we returned this year. I can’t say that there was any downside to love a traditional marriage and raising our children in the US. I will say that the public school system is bad in the US. We literally banned our kids from bad influences. We side-stepped much of that with private schools that were non woke and high quality. Young men should come to the Philippines and work remotely if you have one of these jobs. There’s stunning and very marriage worthy women. I personally don’t understand the older men wanting younger women other than the very short term and superficial reasons that do not work out in the end. What’s wrong with finding the compatible match and bringing her home to the US? Big age gaps or unprepared men and women will have a hard time anywhere. If someone is trying to defy gravity or break the laws of nature, I think one has to eventually pay for that decision. There’s exceptions of course. Two people who have made mistakes and want a second chance, is a good example. Yes, those folks I understand and it can work out for them. They should make a run on it. Why not? You can find your redemption and salvation (not without God however). That’s my personal opinion, experience and belief.
