The warriors around her clenched their iron clad hands around the hilts of massive swords. Blood dripped from cracks in their armor and covered their blades. None of them said a word to her. Were they afraid? She didn't know. They must be, though.
Another THUD came from behind the blanket of darkness ahead of them. The group stopped in their tracks.
The five knights, as if working with one singular mind, moved into a formation in front of her, raising their swords in unison. Their iron boots stomped into the wet ground, steadying each of their stances.
Together, they were and immovable wall, standing stiff as statues, each easily two heads taller than her.

Their grips tightened on their weapons, their metal shells reflecting the moon and lightning in the distance.

She looked up past the soldiers and noticed two massive silhouettes against the night sky atop the short hill.
