He sounds like a narcissist. My soon to be ex husband is the same way. I haven’t went through his phone in over 6 years (we’ve been together 11 years) and I don’t want to. I can only imagine what’s in it. It’s only that much more difficult for me personally because we have two kids together, 9 and 2. And I quit my job when I had my youngest to become a stay at home mom for the first time, and now he threatens when I bring up divorce. I know that I’m strong enough mentally to leave him but not him because a narcissist mind never “grows”. They will ALWAYS have the same fucked up mentality. And even know I’m 30 and he’s 37 I’ve outgrown him mentally.

I use to be on the same boat... my ex was very abusive and controlling and he never allowed me to work... He always told me I was going to be nothing without him...I felt so useless and stuck thinking I was never going to make it... But little did I know my strength.. my kids were my motivation to leave him because I didn't want my kids to think abuse is ok...Now I have a career a car and a house of my own... Woman are actually powerful and can do anything if we put our minds to it... I hope your situation gets better and hopefully he can get help... if not then you are better off alone...
