    Hey Arushi. Congratulation on getting admits. I have a lil doubt, that you scored 158 in verbal but you got 112 in toefl. I mean GRE's verbal is really hard and you scored well then why 112 in toefl? I mean it has to be easy for you na, isn't that right? actually I am looking at toefl format and i found that easy so I am giving that but sounds like it is really hard.

    Congratulation!! Arushi for your admits.
    I'm aiming for fall 24 in MS in CS but struggling with GRE Exam, I have more than 1.5 yrs of experience as a software developer and had a GPA of 8.6 in Information technology from tier 3 college, what do you think about what extent gre exam is matter to getting admitted to good universities?

    • @arushijain273
      @arushijain273  Před 10 měsíci

      Thank you Shivam. Getting a good GRE score is the least you can do for your profile. That being said, even if you score low, and you do not have the time to retake the exam- then focus on other things like publishing papers, building projects, extracurricular activities, and working on the SoP, getting good recommendations.

    Hi , did you apply on you own or through any study agency? Because I was just wondering does applying through study agency lower chances of getting any scholarships as study agents get commission form university from our first years tuition fees. If so will not the university prefer to give schilarahip Or Ta/ ra to those who didn't apply through stydy agency

    • @arushijain273
      @arushijain273  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I had help from a mix of relatives, friends, and a consultancy too. I applied to such colleges that did not take commission from consultancies. I am not sure if I may be the correct person to answer that. RA/TA positions are subject to experience and interview, I don't think the consultancy can give you one.

    Congratulations on your acceptance to CMU! I'm aiming for the Fall of 2024 intake for the MS in CS program. With a CGPA of 9.96 and a GRE score of 324, I'm yet to take the IELTS. Alongside, I've undertaken substantial projects, engaged in extracurricular activities, accumulated 4-6 months of work experience, all from a tier-2/3 college. While I possess a single publication and it's challenging to produce more research publications in a short span, I'm seeking advice on additional ways to enhance my profile. Can you help?

    Hi Arushi, congrats on getting into CMU! I was wondering if you had any research publications,. Since I have mainly focused on that aspect, with a total of 4 publications, but almost no experience. However, I would also like to mention that I am applying right after my undergrad. So how would that differentiate in terms of my admission chances into top colleges?

    • @arushijain273
      @arushijain273  Před 11 měsíci

      Thank you! So I applied right after my undergrad too. As long as you have good stuff to put on your resume, it doesn’t matter. Research publications are really helpful considering what program you’re targeting. If it’s purely tech oriented, then definitely the papers will help.

    could help me with this.

      Thank you. You have to add all kinds of credibility to your profile. Everything has an opportunity cost. Research papers do help, but I did not have the time to write one since I was preparing for SoP, working on Projects, and preparing for exams. If you have the time, go for it. If not, then try to do more personal projects which may help you stand apart.
