Funny I saw that and my immediate thought was “It would be cool if the solution was to point it North, but I don’t think you could possibly make a mechanism for that” I stand corrected

Woooow i love the trivia aspect of this puzzle. Without knowing about cassiopeia and the directional function, you won't be able to solve it. Really really love this one!
Now im imagining a multitude turn puzzle where you have to face multiple directions in order to line up a pin that opens the box. Reset it by turning it upside down.
I got the clue that it was a star formation immediately looking at it. I think I possibly could have gotten this open after seeing your other one that was affiliated with stars.
A great puzzle box, I've got one. Must keep it away from metals. I made that mistake by putting it on a shelf next to a metal puzzle. It took a while before the mechanism worked again.
It is expensive for sure but the level of craftsmanship on this one is really high so you are paying for the quality of the finish and creativity really.
When I first say the "w-shaped" thing I immediately thought of cassiopia, or whatever it is I don't remember its name but I didn't know that the other one was polaris I usually find it using the big dipper. Anyways that was indeed an astronomy lesson I have to check that and I think that this is one of my favourites till now as a star gazer.

It's such a shame it's a nice looking box with a cool solution but what ruins it for me is they placed the pole star in the wrong place in relation to the constellation of Cassiopeia
I think they are aiming for a secondary knowledge. You use Cassiopeia to locate the North Star. So then you note the lone star as the North Star, so then the hint is to point it northwards . Two clues then rather than one.

I'd love to see the mechanism. You'd think it would be too delicate to be usable that way.
@@charlesrichards5389 probably doesn't need to be exactly North but might have a big tollerence
@@Robertius I was referring to a compass needle having enough force to operate anything mechanical.
💪😁👍
It’s called a compass
10/10. These are actual puzzles. If you post more of this kind, you're soon going to take over Puzzle Wanderer and others in my list.

@@singularity6305 Late reply, but it's a Scottish accent 🙂
At this point, I'm more curious about how that compass mechanism works 😮
One of the coolest, but most simple and elegant puzzles I’ve seen. A compass mechanism could be used in so many more puzzles!
Depends how wide the tolerance is, in degrees. Divide by 360.
@@DavidSmith-vr1nb Divide _what_ by 360?

That is one of the most clever and cheekiest puzzle box I’ve ever seen. 😂
Woooow i love the trivia aspect of this puzzle. Without knowing about cassiopeia and the directional function, you won't be able to solve it. Really really love this one!
Ye very creative puzzle this one!
Yes, same.
Imagine the guy who's been working on this for hours and his buddy just comes along, happens to be facing north, and opens it in seconds 😂
That is by far the coolest puzzle box I’ve ever seen
The use of a compass is crazy!
This is sick. I was expecting him to spin the box. The fact that you have to direct the star North is bananas!
I believe the constellation is Cassiopeia, which you use to find the North Star
This is actually pretty cool . Very clever
Thought you were about to spin it, nope, way way cooler than that
I love that puzzle. Someone's thought about that instead of the usual solutions.
The coolest solution ever
Very unusual and really inventive right!
The Cassiopia constellation is my favorite!
Isn't the other screw the Andromeda galaxy?
this is so awesome, i love when puzzles are built uniquely like this, mad props to the creator
It would work sooo well in a story.
It's sad that, eventually, this probably won't work anymore.
If you're referring to the movement of the magnetic pole, that would just alter the angle.
im so glad the answer wasn't spin it or whack it, or a combination of those two.
I have to agree that is the coolest. I've ever seen who thinks about a compass pointing North to unlock something that's cool.
Out of all the puzzles I've ever seen in 70 years this puzzle has the most unique solution
Okay, that one is one of the coolest puzzles I’ve seen because of the directional solution.
i am glad the solution is not something silly like spinning it.
My brain emidetly said "BANG THE METAL OUT" when i saw the jems on top
We named my late dog Cassieopia after the constellation, as she was covered in spots ❤😊
Technically, this is another “spin to open” puzzle
Wow, this one is so far my favourite! What an elegant puzzle!
Flat earthers are still denying the box opens at all
Cool seems like it could be used as a survival tool in a pinch 👌😁
This definitely have a rather unique solution
That was so cool!
amazing that you said "we've got this one slightly larger jewel" and i said " oh that the north star!"
Unique means one of a kind. It can't be modified. It's a word like dead. The solution can't be very unique, just like a person can't be a little dead.
These are great pieces. Where can they be purchased?
There is a hyper- link in the comments just above.
Anyway www.cruxpuzzles.co.uk
You can buy one there.
Don't forget search for Cassiopeia.
Would love to see the inner workings of this one
That’s incredible! I adore it!
Now THAT is unique!
That is legitimately cool!

So, I'm curious. Isn't the aim of every puzzle box to open it?
Cassiopeia is my favourite constellation, I need that puzzle!
Magnet: "imma destroy dis puzzle's whole career." 🙈🤷
This box is really wonderful one. Thank you.
That's beautiful, i would love that
Yeah it's cool but after a while it'll become unsolvable because magnets get weaker over time, and compasses are super finicky.
WOW! That is cool... now I wish to see the insides how that works.
Cassiopeia and the North Star form the japanese constellation of The Anchor.
A great puzzle box, I've got one. Must keep it away from metals. I made that mistake by putting it on a shelf next to a metal puzzle. It took a while before the mechanism worked again.
Thats so smart. Also a horror as someone will probably accidentally open it one time and have no idea how they did it when they try to repeat it..
friggin compass whaaaaat?
Me while watching: “please don’t say spin it”
Definitely the most interesting one
That's really smart and satisfying!
And if you think this puzzle is amazing check out the price! Almost $200 bucks!

I know how Penny would open this box
Cassiopeia puzzle so cool at only 175 quid!!!
I love these beautiful puzzles
I'm a fan of puzzles
like the one from hellraiser
I need that. Not for a puzzle. For a compass.
They should make a hell raiser puzzle box too
a proper puzzle wow, thats beautiful and true art
So freaking awesome!
That’s awesome!
How have I not considered this was possible before?
I just want to say that how genius are you. A_M_A_Z_I_N_G

Cassiopeia is the North Star not a constalation. I think
That's incredibly cool

This is amazing. I would like to see the mechanism
That is so cool!
I love watching these...
A 🧭 in a 🧩! The creator is definitely a genius for making it work!
I’d put my weed in it and never be able to find north again
Brilliant!
Wowowow this one’s my favorite by far
Where can I get these puzzles
this one is unique and cool, nice!
That’s the North Star
Really cool!!!
Strange, with magnetic poles shifting might be a bit more difficult.
They are barely shifting -- not in an amount noticeable to you or this puzzle box, unless you live in Greenland.
Beautiful puzzle box
This was really cool
Very cool Indiana Jones type of stuff
I NEED one of these, WOW!
Very very cool!
Amazing!

Fascinating.
now that’s a puzzle not some spinning bs xD
Best thing I've ever seen.
Since compasses are different in the southern hemisphere, would this puzzle box work here in Australia?
Wonderful!
