The origina key of this piece is F. Edita is singing in G, two pitches higher.
The original key for Casta Diva that Bellini wrote was G major. Giuditta Pasta, who originated the role of Norma, insisted that Belllni lower it to F major for the premiere of the opera.
Edita has the most magnificent voice ,it is so distinct ,you can recognise it from 1 note sung .
It's easy to be a sofa Tomassini ,I bet all you home grown critics are so cowardly in real life .

i dont get the negative likes (lies), maybe they are anti-pagan, she is superbe, the mise en scene is staggering, thank you for so many subtitles and translations. i am a art and diva lover and this is about to become one of my favorite rhythms.

It's strange, but I find this does sound more like the prayer it was intended to be, rather than the other key, which sounded to me more like somber reflection. I love both though.

@@golden-63 Thank you. I thought that the pitch of Bellini's time was lower, so the G major should sound like today's Fis major :)
