basically killing a boss locks you for all bosses that are before him and are required to be killed first in order to access that boss. Nefarian is the last boss so he locks you for the whole raid, same for al'akir, and all of BoT bosses lock you on the bosses before them
in the context, hpyotethically lets just say I only downed Magmaw with my guild on heroic and my guild decides to call it. But i want to continue. Can i just join to another raid that also only killed magmaw on heroic?
Yeah pretty sure its wrong information, you cannot kill a normal boss like in retail when they had personal loot. It is not possible to clear the raid 20 times a week on normal and "dont receive loot" like on retail.
YOu talked a lot but didnt explain one important thing, can you do both 10 man and 25 man raids? You only talked aboout heroics vs normal but not 10 man vs 25 man
Shared lockouts 10 / 25 are only in terms of normal raiding or can u do for example 8/13 hc 25 man and then finish on 10 heroic ?
I’m pretty sure I only did Nef on normal and still got a full raid lockout for BWD! Unless this is new starting this week?

you have a bit of freedom in BWD and later firelands cuz there is no specific order which boss you kill first among these first bosses.
there's no possibility of getting loot from the same boss twice. thats pretty much the TLDR.

no thats a diff raid id, you can only finish the raid on normal now.

no they are all the same. 1 boss loot per week is the simplest way to think about it.
