I’m Haitian and Jamaican and I mix spices with my cooking and it is always the best of both worlds into one dish!
Happy New Year Nyah! Wow you really have the best of both worlds especially when it comes to meajts. Festivals (correct me if I'm wrong) would go very good with this souse also. The last time I was in Jamaica, I had Festivals every day lol- sooo good 😋 Thanks for watching love.
❤I’m Bahamian ‼️🗣️Love me a ZOE you did that friend‼️🫶🏽
I'm from Southern Africa and my fiance is from the Bahamas,I'm so thrilled with this recipe .I can't wait to prepare for him when he gets here .THANK YOU
Hi my love! That's awesome!! How did this recipe work out for you??
it's amazing how Cariibean dishes are similar but each country calls it a different name....I'm Bahamian...i prefer sweet potatoe instead of irish potatoes and I prefer pumpkin instead of carrots...I observe that Bahamians really don't use diverse veggies like some of the food videos from other countries....mmm...like i was in my 30s when I first learned of bread fruit and come to find out we do grow bread fruit in Bahamas...but Bahamians aren't "big" on some of these things and they are sooo deeelish though!! but hey our food still taste great with or without all those veggies and spices
I pick the right video 🇭🇹 🇧🇸
Hey..... 👋🏿 lol! Thanks for watching love 💕
@@lisascaribbeankitchen5482 my husband love it it was my 1st time trying it lol he want me to cook it again 😂🤣😂
My son in law is from the Bahamas, and he is very homesick. He and my step daughter are coming to visit in a couple of weeks! He mentioned this dish when I first met him, so I am super excited to make this recipe for him. Thank you for sharing!!😊
Hi Mrs. Wright! Awwww, that is sooo sweet of you. He'll be sooooo happy trust me. I'm happy I am able to help you make this a reality. We usually eat this with Johnny bread and I have a simple recipe on my channel for that. It goes well together. Very very easy to make but most importantly sooooo delicious 😋 and he'll be even more happy lol! I really want to know how it works out for you so don't forgot to come back to let me know pls. They'll definitely come back to visit sooner rather than later after your delicious surprise😁
@@lisascaribbeankitchen5482 I found your Johnny Bread recipe as well. And I going to make that too!! I will definitely let you know how it goes. But, I'm sure it will be delicious!!😊

Girl my hubby and I just did this recipe and it took Us back home SO good 🇭🇹🇧🇸🇨🇦
Yay!!! I'm glad I could help with that!
I am bahamian American but souse always helps heal my home sickness
Hi love! It's honestly the best 😋😋
@Lisa's Caribbean Kitchen definitely agree
When cooking this, I boil the meat for about 15 minutes first, then give it a wash before cooking, so that the water is clear without all the oil from the skin of the meat.
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your tip. That's actually the correct way to do it but I find doing it that way takes away from the flavor so that is why I do it my way. Thanks for watching 💕
@@lisascaribbeankitchen5482 😍
Hello, if I boil 15 minutes before cooking...you use plain water or you season it FOR THE FIRST BOIL?
@@maryfitzgerald8484 I boil with salt. Give them a good wash before and after boiling. Then season with salt, hot peppers and lime to cook.
A few switches and you guisado! Im going to try this recipe soon. I keep seeing vinegar in all the other videos but am willing to try your version first
Happy to hear you love🥰🥰🥰. I love souse and i love your receipe i will try it TFS stay safe
Hey Love. Let us know when you try it! Thanks for watching 💕
Every New Years my Cat Island mom made pig feet souse DELICIOUS!
I'm sure those pig feet gave that souse a better taste than my wings lol 😆 but souse in any form is always delicious!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you !
My pleasure love 😘
Thank you so much my Bahamian sister ! ❤
My pleasure 😘
Can I do the 10 minutes and throw off the water but keep the herbs and some of the water then add the other herbs and more water and cook 20 minutes? So the water is more clear? Will I still lose flavor if I only throw off half the water and keep the herbs?
So u don't throw off first set of water?
No love. It tastes better, but throwing off the first water is the proper way to do it.
Pepper
I don't like pepper but if you do, go for it!
I always thought vinegar was in the broth..
Hi love. I'm not sure if people add vinegar because everyone does thier own thing but trust me, all you need is water, fresh limes and all spice! No vinegar needed!!
Where’s the lemon juice
No lemon juice needed, just fresh limes
