Not all stunts in movies happen the way you think they do. For example, I thought they did this shot like this, but it turns out, it's not true.
So let's take a look and see what really went on behind the VFX of Fast and Furious 6.

The initial Moscow heist scene which, was actually shot in London
The Car Interior shots, that were actually shot in front of green screens, cars that were added to drone aerial footage. More Greenscreens, Wembley Stadium, and the London Street Race scene that fooled us into thinking it was all shot in London when it was actually shot in 6 different locations across three different cities.
London is a busy city and only a few certain streets that can be shut down without forcing the whole city to grind to a halt.
This meant that the filmmakers had to film different parts of the race sequence on the exact same stretch of road.
VFX artists then had to replace different sections of the streets digitally, so that we wouldn't notice that it was actually the same road over and over again
In order to achieve this illusion the backgrounds used for the interior car window shots had to be altered.
Some cars had to be repositioned, pedestrians, vehicles, and lights were added, or removed. And the ends of the streets, side streets, and skylines were digitally extended with London location photography to make the roads appear longer.
But they didn't just fool us with london streets that weren't really there or "Sergeant Digidouble" here
They also used CG cars like those in this drone footage and in this crash sequence... In fact, every single car used in production was LIDAR scanned and photographed and different digital versions were made with the progressive amount of damage they underwent throughout the movies timeline.
The entire movie is full of subtle VFX we didn't notice or question.
Obviously, Dwayne Johnson isn't going to jump out of an armored truck onto the flip car so we automatically know this has to be a visual effect. But the variety of backgrounds racing past car windows go completely unnoticed
Did you notice that this window was CG smashed glass? or that this tablet screen was just a green image with touch points marked on it? or that this BMW, the background, the lights reflecting on the windscreen, and its opacity were all digital effects?
The effects throughout the movie were so extensive that almost every shot had some sort of addition...
Augmentation... or adjustment.
A total of over 1800 visual effects shots from 12 different VFX vendors and over 1000 VFX artists from 6 different countries not only kept us feeling that the impossible stunts we were seeing were actually real but also kept us believing that the extremely unrealistic storylines of the Fast and Furious franchise were actually possible

This movie was when they started to go overboard with cg. F5 was the perfect mix of believable practical carnage and unnoticed subtle cg.
I like the Fame Focus icon picture with the green guy with the sunglasses. Fits the thumbnails

Its almost as if the thumbnails are just made up as a joke..
@@ChrisLee-yr7tz there's no reason to assume this :P
One of your best yet Jamie!

That CGI soldier grabbing other soldier not to fall is such small and nice detail i missed it in film and almost in here.
Effects in FF are great, perfect popcorn movie. Fire and forget and watch it again years later.
I remember a policewoman on a British ‘real police work’ TV show saying that each time a new Fast & Furious movie comes out they have to scrape young lads off their car bonnets who tried to do one of the impossible stunts, now I see why they’re impossible.
i wouldn't call filming myself in a green cube and turn it into Tokyo an *Adjustment* 😂
Most of the time u see a computer or a tablet or a TV it is green screen
now i know why never see green object on most spectacular scene movie
Nice
That's amazing to split the movies with details. haha. 😁
I'm curious. How do you get this footage secret?
I dont think this guy buys that, there must be some other source from which this guy gets the footages.
I always thought the races were real 😅😅
A lot of them shots where filmed in Liverpool not London. The Liverpool Town Hall and Water Street can be clearly seen.
Was about to say this.. 2:09 is Liverpool, also when they do the chase scene with the custom car and it comes out of the tunnel, that's the Queensway Tunnel
Was working in the Atlantic Tower when they filmed it and had the crew staying there (camera operators not the stars)
I remember being there when they filmed the scene where the M5 goes through an office window.
They built a huge, fully furnished block of offices on waste ground, all for one tiny 3-4 second clip of the car going through the window.
In reality the stunt driver just smashed through the fake window and destroyed a few chairs, in the movie however…
Made me wonder why they went to all the time (it took about a month to build the set) and effort when the whole thing could have been done in CGI…
Ok!!!!!
Some of that is in Glasgow I watched it being filmed the police car crash
Let's see 👀
👍
Movies should return to the good ole days of filming without vfx
Why?
@@JohnH108 it just feels more alive compared to cgi. even the actors look like they are not having fun :/
Yes yes, this is circus
Have you got the latest Guitar Rig Kontrol? 😜
Hello IAM beginner of VFX interested on that
If there's a dude who can greensuit ride a skateboard at those speeds whilst transferring a person jumping? Dude's in the wrong profession.
what is the song/

Some of the London street scenes were actually Liverpool UK.
Aapko kaise pataa chalta hai sir

Really upsetting how vibrant colors like skin are greyed out. There needs to be a small industry that puts color back into films.
Why does that upset you?
Honestly this video is kinda comfusing.
So they don't drive a damm car???
Ludicrous films which are pure cgi
Now we want CG actors too. No real actors please.
I dont like cgi
Yeah- if you want real stunts look elsewhere.
