His own words spoken on different occasions contradict with each other. It clearly proves that he himself is misled. Also it does not make sense that in almost 1400 years, muslims remained ignorant and stupid. Allah will hold qayamat when all the people turn ignorant. Therefore Engineer is manifestly wrong in his interpretation of Islam.

انجینیئر ان کو اپنا استاد کہتا ہے لیکن کبھی ان کے سکھائے پر فالو نہیں کرتا یہ اس بندے میں سب سے بڑی بیماری ہے۔
اس میں کوئی شک نہیں کہ مفتی صاحب کی کئی غلطیاں بتائیں اور اس میں وہ صحیح ہے کوئی شک نہیں ہے کہ اس بندے نے بدعت کے خلاف بہت اچھا کام کیا ہے ۔
لیکن اب اس بندے نے بہت زیادہ فتنہ پھیلانا شروع کر دیا ہے ۔
میں دارالعلوم دیوبند کا فاضل ہوں لیکن یہ جملہ صرف میں نے مخالفین سے ہی سنا ہے ابھی تک کسی کتاب نہیں پڑھی

I think Engineer Sahib as already given the answer of the question "then why do you still pray behind them?" And as far as I know, answer he gave was by quoting Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) or maybe it was Moula Ali(May Allah be please with him) . He said and I quote "Kharijites are the dogs of hellfire but we will still pray behind them until and unless they keep on chanting the Qalimah"
"Until and unless they chant the kalima" meanwhile engineer is accusing the two sects in not chanting the same kalima that Prophet Muhammed PBUH had taught, still engineer allows his students to pray behind them, there is big question mark in his statement!
