Rydel, i love hearing birth stories and i just want to say it definitely changed my thoughts on having kids! My mom had a really bad complication with her fourth baby so please be aware of everything! But you changed my thoughts cause now i know be calm not anxious. You are so amazing and i’m so glad i get to watch all your babies grow! It feels like just yesterday you posted the video of Supers birth! 😭 man time flies!

Rydels' needle story is my nightmare. I'm terrified of needles, but once it's in me, I'm fine, so to have to get a needle 7 times in a row is so scary
@@bellaknightR597 Yes I have terrible veins and use to get iron infusions for a good month weekly and I hate needles when it comes to myself 🩵!!! You’re way nicer than I am I can’t imagine 7 times!!!

I know what you mean about the hand swelling hurts more than contractions! When I got the Covid Shot, my left leg all of a sudden had an electric shock like you mentioned. Now I have nerve damage, where sometimes my left leg gets a random lump swelling. It was horrible!! It felt like I was getting electrocuted non stop! I so understand what you went through!

I've always hated needles since I was a little kid especially getting IV or shots done. I have very small veins so nurses always have to use the "Butterfly Stitch" on me getting IV's done but sometimes the nurses have a hard time finding my veins so I've been poked 3-4 times before getting an IV done and it hurts so bad! I can totally relate to your pain! 😖💉

Do you ever think of making one of those baby names we won’t use videos? You guys have such unique names and I’m always looking for cool ideas.
That’s exactly how I had my first 3 weeks ago, I had the epidural from 9-10cm during contractions, then 1.5hrs after I had the epidural started I started pushing, the epidural had worn off and I pushed for 45mins. I actually liked being able to feel everything during the pushing, but having the epidural for transition was so helpful and it meant I could sleep.

What is you advice for birth I have my first in April and I know that it can take hours what’s some advice to pass the time
That IV sounds rough! I’m an ER nurse so IVs are my bread and butter. First iv sounds infiltrated. Basically it can be the fluid that they use to flush the iv to make sure it works or your blood that slip out of the vein and make a pocket. It hurts because the skin is so tight. It goes away eventually (think about when a vet puts fluid under a dehydrated animals skin). Sounds like she did hit a nerve. It can be hard because everything is so close together and nerves can feel like veins. Some days can just be bad vein days. Maybe you were a bit dehydrated or swollen. Sorry it was so rough, IVs can be finicky. You can go through the vein, veins can roll, you can hit a valve and then it won’t draw. Glad the anesthesiologist finally got it, they usually don’t and give the nurses a really hard time about it. Congrats on the baby
oh yeah i was mega swollen, prob dehydrated too so that def didn’t help the veins 😅🙈🫠 tysm!
With my first son I had the IV in my hand area also. With my second son and last baby I had an unplanned home birth. From start to finish was about 5 1/2 hours and he was due on Jan 31st but came on Jan 26th. My oldest with the epidural and pitocin was about 10 1/2 hours. Pitocin actually slows down labor. If I ever had another baby I would definitely have another home birth because it didn’t hurt as much as the hospital birth…. I’m the oldest. My brother after me and I are 17 months apart. My youngest brother and I are 4 years apart and my sister and I are 6 years apart. I’m not close with any other them. I hang out with my sister but not close with her.
I had a pretty unplanned homebirth with 4th and then planned one for 5th
im the second oldest so my oldest sister and I are 5 years apart, my little brother and I are 4 1/2 months apart, my little sister and i are 7 years apart and my baby brother and I are 12 years apart lol

I used to get sick a lot when I was little, and I would get IVs all the time but I did go through that once, they poked me 5 times till they could get the IV on, probably you were a little dehydrated and thats why it was harder
When I had my son the anesthesiologist had to do my IV because none of the nurses could get it. I have stubborn veins though. 😆

Ugh I’m so sorry that happened with the whole vein thing. I’m glad you’re okay tho 🫶🏼😭 &It’s bcuz they went through the actual vein tho and fluid was just building up. It happened to me when I was like 10 but in my arm.
I absolutely hate getting the iv. I am such a hard poke for both of my labors. I’m always asking them to just take it out once I’m done, but they have to leave it in and it drives me nuts. And I got an epidural with my first and for some reason they just never refilled it once it had emptied and they turned it off so by the time that I was ready to push, I could feel so much and I was even able to get up and walk immediately after because I really had to go to the bathroom. I had to interrupt my skin to skin time to use the bathroom and they were nervous about when we get up but I could feel everything. I’m pregnant with my third and I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I preferred my relationship with my younger brother(4 years younger than me) than my relationship with my older sister(9 years older than me) so I always knew I wanted my kids close together. I want them to be siblings and friends. My sister always acted like my parent since she was older and would watch us. I didn’t want that for my kids.
I've just gotten out of hospital for appendicitis and the iv situation was the same for me but I was also nil by mouth for three days and honestly because I was sick and nauseous and lack of food, the iv situation was the same because this lady who was new and the other guy just couldn't- thankfully got to my surgery and the used an ultrasound to find my vein and it wasn't painful at all
I have a difficulty time getting a first try for IVs. I have what’s called rolling veins and it sometimes it gets to be so hard that the nurses have to get a vein finder to get it for me. And sometimes that doesn’t even help😅
I have a question ive always wondered is how do you give birth comfortably with an IV in your hand?

I had the SAME experience with the IV!! They had to have the ANESTHESIOLOGIST put my IV in after they tried 15 time!

That happened to me when I had my daughter. Basically it's fluid buildup, because the vein isn't taking in the fluid. It truly hurts a lot.

As someone who has HORRIBLE veins. It’s awful. When I had my baby 9 months ago to this day I will tell you getting the iv was worse than my c section. Like I’m thinking about having another baby but thinking about the prep before my c section and everything about the c section is just making me sick thinking about it.
I was thinking you were going to have him on September 7 because that is my nephews birthday but you had him the day after. When I heard that your due date was early September my guest was September 7 but I was close
