Fun fact: the reason the jazz flows so well into the chorus of Wildfire is because the jazz IS the chorus. It’s the same exact melody, just broken down and jazzed up. It becomes much more obvious when you listen to it without the vocals, check out their guitar playthrough of it!

1:52 for whatever reason, periphery songs get better the more you listen to them, much like aging a fine wine. i think it's just because you need to build an intuition to their groove and song structure and then once you know where the song will go, you can just sit back and enjoy the music without losing the groove

Completely agree with this. Periphery has reached the 'love to hate' level at this point. I feel like I go into a new album like this with a cynical attitude. Mainly, because I love their whole discography and can't fathom them topping their already existing catalog. However, they delivered. The more I hear this album the more I fall in love with it.

So far this albums is probably my second or third favorite from them. It really feels like they’re taking a lot of notes from influences and similar bands and sprinkling it in to the album. There’s the usual meshuggah influences, but myself and a ton of people I know are saying Everything Is Fine! Sounds like it could have been off of DEP’s last album. I'm hoping you understand people's say about AI, even if it looks neat.
Context: AI (especially AI art) uses an algorithm to automatically collect art from all possible corners of the internet whether copyrighted or not, monetized or not, for sale or not, doesn't care about permissions or at the very least credit, it's theft by definition, it's a spit in the face to every artist publishing their work on the internet.
(Don't mention "AI Artists", they're asking the AI to spin up work for them and they'll sell the result), that's only the surface level of why AI art is so f***ed up, and so are the people using it who know about this!
I like this album, but the music video for "Atropos" and especially the response from Spencer to the people's confrontation really left a bad taste for me.
