Nervous that Flip would want to stop the fight, 10 year old me said "Get the fuck out of there flip!" right in front of my dad... Bowe is the first boxer in history to win the titles of all four major sanctioning bodies-the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO-and remains the only heavyweight to do so
The defense of tysons side to side was so good that every opponent he faced when he implemented that defense correctly as damato taught, prevented any opponent to mount an attack, THIS is what intimidated the opponents, not tysons power, the power was a icing on the cake.the speed and side to side slipping was the culprit of the intimidation factor so all these jerks state that once a fighter wasnt afraid, tyson folded but it was because tysons defense stopped and they were able to retaliate
Holyfield must have started taking the Human Growth Hormone after those fights you mentioned because he was throwing Tyson round the ring like a Rag Doll and Tyson was fairly strong.
There was a period of time, in the mid 90's where Holyfield seemed to get unusually tired in fights. It didn't seem like normal fatigue. It was around 1994/95. What was going on there?
There's Holyfield headbutting (or trying to) Riffick Bowe. It didn't work with Riddick Bowe because Bowe is two smart for a cheap club fighter like Holyfield.
Holyfield actually suffered a heart attack DURING THE FIGHT! He also had a type of hepatitis. And he managed to last 9 rounds while INSIDE FIGHTING, facing one of the strongest boxers of the 90s, knock him down, and get up at the count of 9. For me, this bout was perhaps the most courageous one ever, because he could've died any second, he knew SOMETHING was wrong, and he fought a great fight while pushing himself beyond his limits. Your thoughts?
He didn't suffer a heart attack in any fight, but in the 1st Moorer fight they thought his left ventricle closed and thus the doc said that he fought the fight, "essentially at cardiac arrest". What actually physically happened to Holy in the Moorer fight has been debated by many people, and you can read up on all the medical theories, but there is no doubt SOMETHING was wrong with him in that fight and this fight too b/c in every other fight Holy could go to war for 12, even 15 rds and not slow down. After reading his book and watching the fight, the Hepatitis thing sounds like it's 100% legit, and if he had been healthy, I think he destroys Bowe in this fight. But, it all worked out in the end....
The close fighting was so interesting....and great refereeing!! He only intervened when there was holding...otherwise just got the hell out and let them box...

I seen Holyfield on a cooking show with his fam a few years ago and he could barely speak then. Boxing is a dangerous sport, you have to get out early or it happens to everyone.
@@lawreneph yea ik but hes allways stutterd badly lol
Holyfield was a dead man walking in this fight and he still almost ko'd bowe. I was at this fight at 8 years old, and I was scared for Holyfield because he could barely stand up. In fairness, Holyfield looked bad against Moorer as well. Even TEddy Atlas was screaming about how bad he looked. Bowe didn't even look great in this fight (thankfully for Holyfield).
holyfield came back, but he neither ever looked as good after their second fight. Those first two fights were BRUTAL.
This fight is rite up there with the best
Do anyone know the name of the song, when holyfield is walking to the ring ? I just hear... by the power of his love
I was there that night!! Great night- great fight
2 GREAT heavyweight boxers. Bowe could have been one of the greatest!

Exactly two years after this, Holyfield would leave a part of himself in the ring forever when he faced Tyson!👂
They need to make an anime. Each season or chapter based on each decade. The 20’s,50’s , 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s we already know are going to be beautiful. Every Division was stacked and there was a “super fight” basically every month
Thank you for sharing
They are good men. Riddick shows his respect to Holyfield after the fight, never hard feelings between them. Boxing is sport, not killing each other.
I remember Tyson-Mathis was originally scheduled for the same night as this fight on the other Pay Per View channel. But Mike broke his thumb a week before and it was postponed till mid December on Fox for free.
This 3rd fight with Bowe and his next fight with Czyz made people think that Holyfield didn't stand a chance against Tyson. And Tyson steamrolling thorugh McNeeley, Mathis, Bruno and Seldon made people think the real Mike Tyson was back.
The real tyson was back The one that could knock out bums easily
@@bobber0623frank Bruno challenged for a HW belt FOUR times, you absolute bellend. How is he a scrub?
You don't wanna meet Riddick Bowe in a dark alley, I must say.
Real talk
Bowe won just because he was younger than Holyfield. Even so, I really admire Holyfield for his excellent fighting style, he's always on my mind like the number one boxing hero in the world.
All prosperity inevitably ends.
You have no idea mate internet experts forfaarksakes
Great fight. Wrong ending for me, but a damn great trilogy. The Real Deal vs Big Daddy🥊✊🏿🥊✊🏿🥊
lol....
32:00 at the corner talk: "I got control of myself you get control of the fight"
Bowe in his prime could have beaten any heavyweight. But damn, here Holyfield is giving away almost 40 pounds to Bowe! That's crazy.
A lot of good trilogies in boxing 🥊 but I don't know if there is one better than these 2 fighters matches! Very entertaining!
Holyfields physique was insane in his prime

bowe looks like young foreman here
Nah he dont in any of the three fights Foreman destroyed Frazier twice this was Bowe's Frazier and took him 30 rounds to knock out

Lo mejor de lo mejor en peso pesado estos si son de verdad .
That HEAD behind Evander's Trunks really speaks well of himself and his fighting style.. 😆🤦♂️😆
Bowe is in such good shape for this fight, that he looks like some other guy.

I like how Team Holyfield's clothes say Evander "HEAD" Holyfield.
At 33:01 watching it live on PPV, I was screaming "Throw the right hand! Throw the right hand!!" but Holyfield never threw it. The end of the Rd. I screamed "Damn it!"
I was watching this PPV with my brother and father. When Holyfield knocked Bowe down I leaped off the couch in excitement and shouted ! I was so excited and happy. Too bad he ended up losing.
That was the last big Boxing match we all watched together. And we all had a great time. Now we don't even talk to each other. Haven't seen either of them in over 10 years.
@@BoxingbearI’m sorry man. Families are complicated.

Lewis was better. But with this trilogy, Bowe and Holyfield gave us the best heavyweight trilogy since Ali - Frazier.
There was a time when I really rooted for Holyfield and admired his courage. But his failure to retire when it was time has really messed with his legacy. I can see the steroid thing happening, he needed to bulk up because he always was a blown-up cruiserweight. Still, the guy fought some pretty damn good fights.
And they say the thickening of the heart vessels that Holyfield had suffered from is often a by-product of steroid use.
Its terrible the way some fans convict people who were never busted and never failed a single drug test in a 30 year career. Its just wrong.
some people born cruiser weight
Holyfield is a legend
@@Orange6921must be delusional
Look at some of the people in the audience, especially around the 38:00 Mark for a while. Are some of those people cardboard cutouts used to fill seats?
Lol sounds like a Tyson fan to me. I seriously doubt if Bowe and Holy needed card board cut outs to fill seats after their first two fights What will yall come up with next to try to disc Holy
@@bobber0623 calm down brother, love holy bowe and Tyson. Merely asking a q based on how flat and still those ppl looked but looking at them closer now, I eventually saw some movement. guys, somebody knows the title and artist of the entrance song of holyfield?:) thanks
What title is ring entrance music Riddick'a???

When Steroids are not enough. Thanks for posting.
Holyfield looks unwell after 1 round. At end of round 4 Holyfield says can't breath.
Yeah this started during the Michael Moorer fight. Teddy Atlas kept talking about how something was wrong with him. This fight was even worse. I was at both fights as a young holyfield fan ad I was heart broken. I thought this had to be the end of his career. When he was going into the tyson fight, the odds opened at like 20-1 for Tyson. People thought Holyfield was going to die because of the health issues. When he won, it was insane. I was ten years old, and I remember he had a cut and Flip Homansky was looking at it. My dad and I were huge holyfield fans and we couldn't get over what was happening. Nervous that Flip would want to stop the fight, 10 year old me said "Get the fuck out of there flip!" right in front of my dad... I looked at him and said "sorry" and he was so into it he just said "it's ok don't worry about it."
I've seen it post fight. Never pre-fight. Ward - Gatti, those guys showed immense respect for each other. But I agree. It was nice to see.
Riddick Bowe is The Man
holyfield looked all juiced up
a heart condition? Maybe it was too big for his chest.
Or maybe he dropped his steroid useage
Who knows but something went wrong For Holyfield cause he didn't have the push to rush Bowe after he dropped him Bowe was a duck dinner waiting to get got he was all out on his feet dude let him off the hook!
I think so.
The heart condition was later revealed to have been totally made-up and false.
I cant undrstsnd. After 1 year holyfield is too much strong fight vs tyson.
Thx for the great upload
Holyfield had that and maybe he was off the juice or what cause he had Bowe out but gassed out!
38:38-38:41...the late great 2pac attending the fight.
Immediately, the song "Untouchable" came to mind after reading ur comment.
Vo Uub I saw this fight years ago, and has been looking for it since.

Bowe could of been one of the greatest.
pure boxing art !!!
Bowe is the first boxer in history to win the titles of all four major sanctioning bodies-the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO-and remains the only heavyweight to do so
Raphael Mantey all aided by constant supply of anabolic steroids And training with 8'times mr Olympia lee Haney ...
Every single one of them leave sports tainted by constant drug taking. It’s sad
during this era there were only three MAJOR sanctioning bodies.
The marvelous Holyfield!
Holyfield ok
Too much heart ... great Stoppage by the Ref. Joe Cortez ...
62 feels chilly in a dry place like Las Vegas.
Holyfield must have started taking the Human Growth Hormone after those fights you mentioned because he was throwing Tyson round the ring like a Rag Doll and Tyson was fairly strong.
Yeah Kian he got a bad dose of roids for this fight for Bowe. Almost killed him
I didn't even know they fought a 3rd time.
Holyfield win once and bow won one they wanted to see who was better
Bowe what a super boxer 👍
Grande luta!
funny Holyfield's trunks with "head" on them.
Yea wats up with that
this fight always gets me. evander had him. i watched this as a kid i was in shock
***** loss is a loss. Don't give any excuse please.
There was a period of time, in the mid 90's where Holyfield seemed to get unusually tired in fights. It didn't seem like normal fatigue. It was around 1994/95. What was going on there?
hepatitis A
Riddick's intro music was so dope.Nice
All your fantasy huh?
@Nitty Gritty yeah one of the toughest men in history is a bitch. You're a moron
oh boy, in the replay from the top you can see that rigth hand come in like a ton of brick strapped to a rocket pack
The close fighting was so interesting....and great refereeing!! He only intervened when there was holding...otherwise just got the hell out and let them box...
Big Daddy too strong for mr stéroïdes
I like seeing holyfield on his ass 😲😌😳😁
@@WizeOwl764 Me too, I never liked him. I agree that he had major courage but had he fought Tyson before Tyson went to prison, Mike would've slaughtered him. Assuming Rooney was in his corner. My biggest wish though was that Foreman would've knocked Holyfield out.
