  • i was reducing sacrifice branches to one leader and pulling needles off i don't need during decandling time in my area. week lower buds need all the help they can get. a few weeks later i think it's helped a lot with energy distribution to the lower buds.

    How often do you water in the summer?

      just about once everyday with trees in colanders because they dry out so fast. pines like it if the soil starts drying out and gets to a low moisture state, unlike say maples, who want a medium moisture level all the time. yesterday morning i watered all my pines. this morning i only watered the oldest pines. the young ones in black cups didn't look very dry from the soil surface, and the seedlings in coco/perlite looked very miost and the cups were heavy, so ill wait till tomorrow to water the young ones.
