What are you using to charge the batteries?
Should I use a regular LiPo charger? I have chargers for my RC batteries that should work fine

Yes, lipo charger is okay as long as to charger the 3 batteries

what happens if you use 5v phone charger with a TP4056 to charge the cells?? did I screw them up? because I got them up to 4v, they charged fast but they hold voltage

As long as the + - polarity attach to right place with good touching ( anything can hold and touching firm)
The 4v charging is not a problem
But can’t overcharge,
About 10 minutes is ok coz is just to activate the battery board not fly the drone!
