I remember my own Pox Party. Luckily, I and my sister knew what it was all about, so we were pretty chill about it. We rolled on and caught it from one of my mums friends' two sons. I was about 12 or so. In the end, the chickenpox isn't too bad.
I had it twice. Second time at 16 and ended up in the hospital. Spent my sweet 16 birthday there. Have had shingles twice in the last five years as well. It is a lot worse.

So this episode reflects on Pox Parties. Back in the day, moms thought it was fantastic idea to get kids sick with chicken pox as soon as possible to built immunity, so they organized community meetings with infected children to get the entire community of children sick all at once “just to get it over with.” I went through one of these parties. Then they invented the varcirella vaccine in 1995, and the practice is a novelty of the past unless you’re an anti-vax parent.
