    This game was a hell of a journey. Easy 9/10 for me. The game isn't even close to being finished after the main story concludes. There's so much content in this game I don't understand how they pushed the release date FORWARD by a few months... Thank you Monolith Soft, I look forward to see what amazing experience you create next!

      i give it a 8.6- out of ten. combat is pretty uninvolved unlike the prequel, atmosphere is a bit dull, maneuvering over levels is too linear, uninteresting world. and way too much generic anime-eee story
      honestly the ending "moebiuses" where pretty sad in introductions.

    • @DavidHosey1
      @DavidHosey1 Před 2 lety

      @@luluna5228 feel like you’re trolling, cause while 2’s combat is better overall this is still the deepest/most involved, atmosphere is where more consistent than the others (not saying any are bad), the areas are far less linear than probably ever before, and way less than 1 at the least, and the world is at a peak of fascination if you’ve played the previous games
      Also if you actually think that about the story, you objectively didn’t pay attention. Like damn, that’s one of the weirdest complaints I’ve ever seen here lol

      nah, ive played and listed all games highly rated and have been doing so the whole time. im up to almost hitting all games rated over 87 on any platform on metacritic or oc.
      deepest and most involved? buddy you literally hit until you get your ultimate. then to the same pattern of attack-healer-defender-special fusion arts. its the same thing with not much skill involved.
      atmosphere was literally fallout if nobody lived in it and there were no buildings or houses. boring.
      less linear? dude xenoblades 2 is literally one whole map for a section needed to maneuver through the quests.
      in 3 i literally ended my game with every map section being a literal straight line.
      also as to the story part. you're kinda dumb here bro. For example the main message of "choosing your own path and making it mean something" sure whatever i guess. would help if you developed any characters over the 50 hours. all we get here is
      -taion -omg she died protecting her colony here are some flowers and stopwatch
      -mio - i feel bad because mayobi or whatever gave her life to me now i can live on my own
      so on and on forth. this is a sad excuse for fascinating atmosphere. most of it is literally the color of shit. anyways. play more games

    About the music, while I think that 2 especially had more memorable music (for me especially in the area themes), I think the area music fit the tone the game was going for really well, and more epic area themes such as in 2 would have actually detracted from the overall experience I think.

    • @Coolin
      @Coolin  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I think I get where you're coming from! For me personally, I just wanted the area themes to be more, idk, catchy? Like I don't remember what a single one sounds like and I played the game yesterday LOL

      Each game goes for a different tone with the sountrack, 2 has more whimsy which means louder, more in-your-face leitmotifs which immediately makes the songs easier to get into and remember, 3 goes for a melancholic tone and is also more cinematic.

    nice to know someone shares my overall opinion as well, though i played in japanese dub for fear of not very good english voice acting. i did rewatch some scenes in english just to test it out and was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't awful, but i still think it could've been better

    Out of context tho a game i compare with xenoblade is omori. has a banger and consistent soundtrack, beautiful art, heartfelt and depressive story,very memorable and good characters, somewhat memey feel and hell of a ending. Though, the horror can be too much, it's kinda depressive gameplay is like, the worst, it's near to the unplayable line.

The Gears and Saga stories were even more off the wall than anything in Chronicles, which is pretty bat-crap crazy already. Play those games if you dig Chronicles, using PCSX2, it's great!!!

    Glad you enjoyed the game so much. Definitely my GOTY! The game has my favourite interactions between characters in the whole series, which is saying something, and the combat is amazing. Haven't decided whether or not I prefer it over the combat in 2 yet, but it is hella' fun and addicting. I also loved the premise of the game, and the story as a whole for the most part. Though all the unanswered questions toward the end and the lacklustre villains do bring it down a little for me, unfortunately. Still great though, and the ending got me pretty emotional, I will admit.
    I can sort of understand your disappointment in the games soundtrack, since it does have a very different feel to the previous games, but I still liked it. Sure, it doesn't quite reach the same heights as 1 and 2, but it's still phenomenal. The vocal tracks in particular. Also I kinda liked the final boss theme personally, lol.

    • @Coolin
      @Coolin  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I almost completely agree! The villains and bosses overall could have been more interesting that's definitely true. And the soundtrack is definitely super good, but the overworld themes weren't as good as like, Mor Ardain yenno LOL definitely LOVED the ending theme though, damn

    As someone who's never played a Xenoblade game before, I didn't enjoy this game that much. It was still a unique experience, with lots of interesting content, that I'm glad to have played.
    But I should warn you: if the most important thing to you about a story is the characters, you will love this story. If the most important thing to you is the plot, you are likely to be left wanting.
    There are interesting plot beats, but they're few and far between throughout the many, many hours of play time - and none of them are in the final act. The excellent character writing alone carries this story.

    • @Coolin

    As much as I'm glad other people can enjoy it, the amount of stuff going on in this game seems like it may be a bit much for me. I am simply overwhelmed by the amount of customization that seems to be in this game, and as someone who enjoys picking one thing to do throughout the entire game in most games, I feel that I wouldn't get as much enjoyment out of the classes, combat and skills mechanics that anyone else would. It would feel like a chore to even grind for these classes.
    That said, it looks like a good game and the variety of the characters seems really good! I'm glad other people can enjoy it. I just won't be able to, lol.

    • @Coolin
      @Coolin  Před 2 lety +1

      So if you want the full impact of the story you should play 1 and 2 first. I'd say it's pretty necessary to play the first 2. A lot of the story beats won't "hit" since you wouldn't know the context from the previous games.
      BUT technically you could just google a synopsis to the first 2 and just play the third after getting that information LOL I don't really recommend that but it's an option!
