I think Mikel should be bringing Havertz on from the bench gradually until he gains his confidence back, and understands his role in the team well enough, and also understands the tactics and how Arteta wants to play. I still believe he will come out a great player eventually but will take time. He's one of those who takes time to adapt, so let's give him some by bringing him off the bench gradually...

@@bryden72 At this point, I can see that you're just trying to be hater. One vivid and consistent attribute that players who have worked with Mikel before, both as an assistant under Pep at Man City and as the Head Coach of Arsenal now is that he's great at man Management. He has done that recently with Xhaka, Viera and the team as a whole. So to say he's bad at man management is just pure hatred. Besides, if Kai was the problem at Chelsea, they should have been way better in his absence now. But guess what, they are still the same Chelsea playing sh*t at the Moment. Being under such system for such a long time demands quite some time to change and get your old self back or even be better. So my point still stands, that he introduces him gradually from the bench like he did with Viera who now seems to have boosted his confidence now...

You have to remember that the game plays out in different phases.........so far Viera has played when the game is a little more open, starting the game is a different proposition. Viera will get his start, just be aware that both Mikel and Pep see the game differently.
Also worth noting the City had 2 draws and 7 wins in their first 9 games last year, Arsenal are on track, the best teams peak at the right time, City last year for example. Winning games whilst bedding in an evolution of the way we play is the sign of a good team.
United actually played their best game of the season, remember last season in the second half at the emirates Arsenal dominated United. Arsenal were the better team, no doubt, on xG alone we were some distance better, 2-1 win would have been a fair result.
The only thing to be concerned about with United is the identity and style of play. A lot of money has been spent, yet ETH hasn't been able sort this. He also interviews poorly, and felt like a manager under pressure. To say he thought United were the better team, and to complain as he did about refereeing, which was spot on btw, showed an immaturity I would be worried about if I was a United fan.

@jasonleon1976 It's not just about scoring late winners that make you great, it's about playing great then in days when you aren't great still finding ways to win, Arsenal so far this season haven't been great, and they could've easily lost that game against Utd who are very bad, so what Arsenal are doing isn't sustainable, until they start winning convincingly then they are not going to challenge for the league, as a Man City fan the only team that concerns me is Liverpool

if i were a ManU fan I’d be worried that my manager thinks he lost because of the ref, it’s a weak statement for a manager, not recognising the errors in his game plan and to stick up for Martial maybe he saw something thing i missed as he did nothing, the only bright sparks were Dalo’s better defensive play and the new boy Hojiland looked good. I’m happy Hag is not our manager, if you listen to Pep and Arteta’ when they draw it’s often followed by a nudge or gentle criticism unless it’s obviously a ref error, even then you will hear that’s the game you have to overcome it and get more goals.

I’m full of joy whichever way we win when it’s against ManU, but my worry for Arsenal is for Arteta to make the next step as a manager he needs to be able to bench Havertz until his hunger and quality is at the standard that meets the Arsenal requirements. Pep would’ve benched him however much he cost, you have to earn a starting place and Vieria has done just that. For that matter Nelson has consistently been a super sub and should be getting starts this season.

I think Havetz should be coming from the bench at some point based on the fact that he is sluggish in his passes, does not add creativity in our attack, and he lacks the confidence to turn and drive forward most of the time when given the ball. His style is affecting our attacking play negatively playing from the midfield.
We need someone who plays with better tempo, urgency, creativity and sharpness on the ball alongside Odegaard like Trossard/Smith-Rowe/Viera to start ahead of Havertz imo. Havertz can come in the second half not as a midfielder but to partner Gabriel Jesus or Nketiah as part of a front three. He will be more effective there imo.

I'm an Arsebal fan but that penalty chance was rightfully turned over but in saying that it probably wouldn't have been turned over if it was the other way around. You say the laws have changed regarding the attacking players leg clipping the defender well that literally happened against David Luiz a few years ago against Wolves I think and not only wss a penalty awarded but David got a Red Card. Of course it was different because there were no other defenders ahead of their attacker but still.

Blaming Havertz for Rashford's goal is ridiculous. Sure he lost possession so did a lot of players at different times, he actually lost it at the other end of the pitch to the goal. My blame goes on the defense, White + Saliba (supposedly the best defender?) and Zinny was right there. What happened to the sliding block tackles that other teams use on us? didn't see any of that desperation there. Second goal opportunity GJ lost possession to Fernandes, don't see anyone mentioning that (fortunately it was offside but potentially could have not been). Nonetheless GJ had a great game apart from that, I personally felt he was the best player on the pitch after he came on, great to have him back.😊

Onana as a keeper is overhyped and I'm certain he's going to be a destructive force in the dressing room. The way he went at maguire in the opener was nothing short of disgraceful and then to let in a goal at the near post? Neither Alison nor ederson is letting the 2nd goal in despite the deflection. That's what you buy a world class goalie for. Those moments to break the opposition's will. He's not top brass and will cost United. Hope's he has the integrity to apologise to Harry

Onana's distribution was fairly poor. Defense and midfield could barely link up and they were hoofing it up to Rashford like they had De Gea in goal...Onana makes it near impossible to press United aggressively though. Honestly, he is a good addition. Mid - long range distribution and game awareness could improve though, Utd had a lot of negative possession cause they were playing footsie between the CB's & Onana.
