Lace up those boots because we've got another fresh and juicy, BRAND-NEW episode of the series all about my quest to find the best video game collecting (N64, SNES, PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Nintendo GameCube, - you name it!), so that I can add a bunch of random video games to my retro video game collection ON THE CHEAP! That game gear deal I would of left all of there tbh. For a couple reasons if you're running a yard sale or flea booth and you want to price everything individually then do it beforehand. The other is they want 10% below eBay. That's not really a deal id rather go on eBay and pick something in nicer condition. Normally unless it's something I really want if they can't give me a price I don't waste my time. And game gear, they are fixable but they are probably the toughest to recap.
Hey Will! That all makes sense to me! I think I agree, too! There mayyyy have been a little FOMO on this one! Plus I was really hoping it would be a simple fix, but lesson learned there!

Idk why people think they can sell eBay at yard sales. You want eBay prices sell on eBay and pay the fees and taxes.

Sometimes people that are comparing it to ebay prices forget that there's 12.9% fees of the item you sold then you have to package and ship them. They think selling online is free lol.
So true, Flip! I also got hit with a random ad fee of 20% on Ebay too, even though I never selected to use ad placements!
If I would subtract eBay fees from that Game Gear, I probably would’ve only paid the seller $10 for it when all was said and done lol
Excellent pickups!!! You can't beat $1-$2 games. I really liked how you negotiated the pricing with the guy who sold you the Sega Game Gear. You brought up some great points during the negotiation such as him not needing to pay shipping and other Ebay fees. I need to use that approach when I am gaming hunting. Some negotiations are easier than others! This was a tricky one because he clearly knew what he had and knew what he wanted for it… but at the end of the day, it’s a yard sale, not Ebay! You can’t expect Ebay prices if I woke up and trekked my butt to your neighborhood for broken merchandise haha - that don’t make a lick of sense!

That first guy needs to remember that people are coming to him and handing him cash. No listing, cleaning, testing, dealing with customers, shipping, and the biggest one of all no taxes.

Wooo let's go, this is always the way I want to spend part of my weekend, Watching Eldabstroyero hunting for games. Can't wait to see how all of this unfolds. Just the opening clips got me pumped for sure to see it all play out. There is always a problem with the Game Gear, I have one, but it seems that the speakers was a big problem I remember hearing about them, I might have to look into it and ask a buddy to potentially look at it and get it going again, as I'm not that handy when it comes to the soldering side of repairs and such. I'm more of a open up and clean up a bit kinda guy lol. I think for it not working at all or least ot powering on, I would of passed on the Game Gear, especially since I got mine with busted speakers (and a MMPR game) for $10. That next sale with $2 a piece games, wooooo that's more like it. 100% would of grabbed all the cartridge stuff for a couple bucks a piece, no doubt, if it cleanable why not. That's what I love to see at sales, a box full of cheaply priced games, love the digging through them. Then on top of already being cheap, he worked a deal with ya, I might of been tempted to pick up the whole box to be honest. Nice score and variety from that one. I think I would of taken a chance on the DK for 64, even if it don't work, I've wasted more money on less lol. For the obscurity of Game Gear stuff in my area, I would of picked them up as well. Nice to find and some cool titles for sure. For me it seems like Sega games in general is defiently the more harder to find stuff - whether it be Genesis, Dreamcast or Game Gear. Awesome to see though. Hard to pick just one of the best things in this video, think my top 3 would be: The Game Gear/GG Games, Dracula and Tiny Toons. Wish you the best of luck on getting the Game Gear up and running, keep us updated for sure on that one. Then I seen the update almost as soon as I typed that one, F in the comments for the Game Gear, might not be a complete lost, but defiantly a much bigger project to have even a CHANCE on it working. This was an epic hunt, as it usually is with you my dude. Keep up with the great work, and good luck on getting to 100 episodes, hitting 3k subs (and beyond), and also on growing the collection. Great to hear from you again, Neil! Glad to be part of your weekend routine! I had not known about the audio issues on the GG, I wonder if that's an easy fix. Believe me, I'm with you - I was prepared to do some soldering but realllly don't want to haha. Consensus seems to be I should have passed on the Game Gear - my FOMO got me this time.
The tricky thing about those $2 carts, the chips looked bad - had they been something more valuable I think I would have grabbed them anyway, but for what they had, I skipped it this time. And in hindsight, yeah I should have grabbed the box haha - probably could have got it for $50. Funny you mention Dreamcast, because I've never seen much of that around, so it's a system I have barely any games for.
Game Gear efforts are on pause for now, but I do have a friend who is willing to take a look, so we'll see! Thanks so much for all the love! See you on the next episode! OH YEAH!
There is replacement boards available for the gamegear. You only have to take two chips off the original and put them on de new board
Oh good to know! A whole board replacement may be what I have to do then! I have a friend who wants to try fixing it first, but if that doesn’t work, the new boards may be the right solution!

I don’t even remember seeing it haha - but I also have 2 or 3 of them already, and knowing how he was pricing things, who knows what I would have paid! Have fun getting caught up!

At 11:08 when the guy offered $80 on the entire box, I would've taken that, but that's because my collection isn't nearly as large haha. I bet you'd have a lot of repeats. Someday I'll bulk buy from someone like that to get a good jump in the collection.

Nice haul! I just got 23 ps1 games, 2 ds lites ( 1 was a Zelda model) 1 ds game for $65! Should be worth about $300+ keep hunting!

As others stated I would've walked away from that first deal. You have more patience then me because when the back and forth happened over $5 I would've walked. You made up for it with the next garage sale but it just felt like the first one was just for content.

These ones are all in PA, but depending on where you are you may be having better luck than I am - I know I’m always getting jealous of the stuff the CA game hunters are finding!

Game gear seemed like a good price, I'd have picked it up for that. I saw the TSR Dungeons and Dragons box, what did he have that listed for? Obviously a reseller so he knows most of his prices. RIP Game Gear.

@@ElDabstroyero yeah I got it from a collector in my area that I’ve done trades and buys from and he threw it in since I was paying quite a bit for a few items and actually if I think about it hopefully the last time I pay that much but because it was not too far off of market value, butit powered on and reads the games. The sound is decent, but the screen is almost impossible to see.
I actually have another offer for a game gear but like I said, I don’t love when they say give me a price because I offered 40 bucks cause I don’t know if it works very well and all the games that came with there’s three of them and they’re both all like 5 to 10 bucks each so I said 40 bucks which seemed reasonable to someone like me is trying to collect on the cheap But they said no thank you so now I’m wondering what price I should give them because they said it works on they are but no idea what to ask I’m feeling like 65 max because I definitely don’t wanna spend 70 bucks on game beer that is working but doesn’t work that great!
@ColinDiamond-24 Sometimes we end up paying a little more and sometimes a little bit less, it’s all part of learning as you go, and it sounds like you’re wheeling and dealing like a pro!
It depends on your budget and your goals really! If 40 was your max, then go with your gut! There’s always going to be more chances and you may get lucky!

The PS2/360 shelves were media shelves I ordered online, the rest I made myself so they’re all crooked haha
