My father had ALS and committed suicide 27 years ago. When Robin took his life I was inconsolable. It's hard for any of us to cope with that depth of sadness in someone that makes us laugh. Funny actually that I won those silly awards in school and up until now meet new people and get compliments on my humor but can say behind "closed doors" even the best days I think about not being here anymore. I suffer so nobody that loves me will at my loss to them in their own way especially my 3 year old granddaughter. My purpose. Be careful what you say to others not knowing how much they may suffer and dont judge others pain. It's not your judgement that holds his pain.

Imagine Robin Williams in 2020...
Man, imagine how Life would be.
Probably a shell of himself. Apparently he had a form of dementia
@@ALTAIR2 WOW I love your sense of optimism
@@gtexnova6670 I wished the best for him but facts are facts
@@ALTAIR2 what you said is Inspirational
To be blunt, having that brilliant mind trapped within a betraying body, fragmenting from his dementia...no.
Suicide is the absolute worst thing you can do to the people who care about you. I've considered it many, many times. But rembered what I went through when my best friend killed himself in '93. That keeps me going.
But, if I develop Alzheimer's, dementia, otherwise begin to lose the person I am, instead of letting my family and loved ones suffer through it, I'll kill myself.
I love Robin. Always will. I am still affected by his death. But, I would rather he, as he did, exit on his own terms, than suffer for us, fade into a private hell for himself and his closest loved ones, and die, himself only in the body he inhabited, not in his mind or spirit.
Robin's Genie is one of the most incredible characters in animation, and Mrs. Doubtfire is one of the most endearing films I grew up watching. Only one other celebrity death has hit me as hard as Robin's, and that was Carrie Fisher.
@Austin Martín Hernández I wholeheartedly agree, and _I even work for Disney._ (Just at the theme parks, nothing big.) I'm sick of these live-action remakes. None of them are improvements upon the original classics. They just come across as schemes to make easy money.
[I don't speak for the company or the brand. Opinions expressed here are my own.]
@@alyssarouso It's a shame that you actually do have to put disclaimers there but it's actually quite smart that you did. I understand Disney has a lot of control and they have AA long reach.
We watched Aladdin with our daughter last weekend- she had never seen it before. My husband and I still cracked up at the Genie!
@@alyssarouso think Togo was pretty good. Know it wasnt a direct remake of balto but still. Besides that i totally agree
What's really interesting about both Robin and Carrie is how they were both incredibly heavy addicts who struggle with addiction their entire lives. Carrie even had traces of multiple drugs in her system found during her autopsy. Both brought so much joy and inspiration to hundreds of thousands of people. It's terrible how the greatest people among us are often the ones who suffer the most behind closed doors.
I didn’t know he had died, let alone of suicide, until I watched Dead Poets Society a few months ago (it is now my favorite movie) and was looking at his IMDB profile and it said his cause of death “suicide by hanging.” Made me immensely sad that I didn’t know it until 6 years later. Rest In Peace.

@@Choices2aa weird the same thing is kinda happening to me.
Everyone seems to be reacting very weird with me and I am always being fallowed by and watched by white trucks and vans.
Plus everyone is judging me and putting words in my mouth.
But I have times when I misread things so I don’t let it bother me as much anymore, I use to get really frantic when things like this happened but I have come to understand it’s just my disorder and I will go through it every once and a while.
I have had my disorder for many years so I learned when I was distorting things and am able to not become overwhelmed and unstable mentally and emotionally like I use to.

Sad that Robin Williams committed suicide and I guess his comedy routine was just an act. He is an actor after all and seeing One Hour Photo was a glimpse into Robin Williams soul and this man had the world laughing and he made everyone smile and laugh then he killed himself. Sad. “I do a great impression of a hot dog!”
The clip where he says "thank you for the standing ovation". I watched that LIVE while I was recovering from Achilles Tendon surgery (my third thank you), I went and bought the DVD. I really needed cheering up with that one.
Growing up. Each time I saw him on tv I would be so happy. To me, he reminded me of my dad. Mrs Doubtfire was my all time favorite film.
just thinking about this makes me cry. he was such a great man. he make so many people smile. we all miss him so much. rest in peace Robin Williams. 😭
Robin you are missed still. You were so loved. There will never be anyone else like you ever. My favorite movies are Birdcage, Good Morning Vietnam and Good Will Hunting
1. Flubber was one of the earliest movies I remember going to see with my family.
2. Goodwill Hunting made me cry, because it was/is so relevant, to my life
3. Hook, because Robin Williams always reminded us to keep our youthful spirit! Enjoy life throughout the growing pains.
Thank you Robin Williams! You are one of the coolest and most influential people. Awesome video, I learned a lot about this great man!
Almost six years now and I still can’t believe he’s gone. 😢
6 years?! God has it been that long 💔
