  • This is part 1 in a 4-part series that introduces participants to the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and guides them from the introductory stage to applied practice with different mental health conditions and scenarios.
Facilitated by Dr. Rachel Waford, the first session introduces the complete ACT framework and ACT hexaflex and provides an overarching discussion of the goals of this psychotherapy orientation. Similarities and differences with other orientations are discussed to contextualize the ACT perspective. This session also introduces the area of Creative Hopelessness and begins the discussion around case conceptualization. Resources for ongoing learning are shared.

Having been trained primarily in the mid -2nd 'wave', I've been looking for an in depth presentation on ACT ... This was extremely well-made, and the'plain English' style makes this a useful resource to share with non clinical folks too!
Love hearing echos of 12 step concepts within ACT and other '3rd wave' modalities!
@southeastmhttc6095 Would slides be available to viewers for reference...?
