Besides the fact that any good hospital system will be totally air-gapped (not connected to a network with access to the wider internet) so outdated software isn't an issue, MRI magnets are ALWAYS on, and it's a very expensive and rarely-used procedure to switch them off. There's no chance of it suddenly energising and suddenly pulling metal objects towards it, that's just not how MRI machines work.
Oh yes. The venerable TRM gradient coil.....the twin gradient coil. I'm not sure they're still making that thing, but it was a royal pain in the ass to manufacture and had high failure rates as well. Any sound that an MRI makes is because the thing is basically a speaker. You've got a big magnetic field which would be substituted for the permanent magnet in a speaker. And you got a gradient coil which would be the voice coil in a speaker. You put the two together, and you can make music. The development engineers at GE healthcare have the special software they can use to make MRIs play music. I never got a hold of it myself when I worked for them, but I had a couple of them do that for me on some of our development systems.
At this point I would not be surprised if any high technology stuff could make music if peoples like to add this kind of feature 😂 One day a Space rocket will start to make music before launching toward space 😂
Ya, soooo if we could get a MRI machine that works just as fast as a CT that would be great! For both the RT & the patient. Can you work on that for us? Please 🙏🏼. 😂
My son (8 @ the time sat through 2.5hrs of mri just to get it done and over with no sedation and I was in there with him. There are far worst sounds than that.
just for calibrations pal. duri g normal scans the sequences has a significant noise reduction. some of them, even reaches enviroment sound. thanks for sharing
Is the patient in while it calibrating? Also.. there are some other noises like clicks and bangs.. I had no idea i hate being in confined spaces until i had my spine check. To this day i keep my promise, unless im unconscious by nature, i need to sleep. Cant be awake. I'm terrified 😅
I can remember a toy with a plastic protrusion of some sort that sounded just like that I just can’t remember exactly what and if I can recall the toy’s insides I found were kinda bone chilling personally as a kid. I think it was a toy accordion. I would walk around it keeping my eyes on it and my distance then I’d run out of the room shaking off the heebies hoping somebody would take it away but I didn’t know how to talk Yet or express my needs Yet because I was born with Asperger’s syndrome ( a form of autism ) I was like a scared cat lolz 😅 Nowadays I just love all that. In fact the music project 808 State has a track called Cubic I believe its called could be spelt with a ik at the end You should look it up and try to tell me it doesn’t sound like electronica music made with MRI machines 🙃 I Loved it well before I had ever heard one of these
i have a question. during an mri what if the ear protections lose from our ear during the process. will something happen to my ears?. because i had this accident during my 2 plane localizer sound
Hi @rajirajinil6476, that’s a great question. The sounds in MRI scanners can reach levels as high as 110 decibels, which is as loud standing in the front row of a concert. The different sounds in an MRI may not be loud enough to cause immediate damage but exposure should be minimal to avoid long term damage. If your ear protection ever falls out again, it is best to alert the tech by squeezing the patient alert squeeze bulb. Thank you for the question. Have a great day.
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer Thanks so much for the detailed answer❤️👍 And also im a indian but i am a subscriber of you. Because your videos gave us a detailed informations and precautions and the levels of the types of mri sounds and ct scan process more detailed. I was extremely scared about the mri scans.. But your videos make me to throughout an fear by inspiring about those goods about that scans
I got my first today. The first sounds were like a demonic church organ playing at a funeral, which raised my anxiety being stuck in a coffin like space unable to move. Then it turned into some sick techno and I actually enjoyed it.
"excessive noise warning!"

"ᵇᵉᵉᵖ"
sounds like somebody repeating G on a guitar
Yeah that's pretty spot on
I don't feel safe when this 1999 looking gui is what controls the death magnet machine
tried and tested, id feel safer

How come ive had MRIs offer music you can pick to block, while others im left terrified of the claustrophobia? ❤
Sounds like someone plucking a mouth harp
The sounds do not bother me. It's being placed inside the MRI for 30 minutes and you can't move.
to me it sounds like ot should be part of some emwrgency warning system 😂

I can’t stand when it does that constantly for like 5 mins
Yes! You described it perfectly! 😂😂
I think this sound is hilarious for some reason

I had a mri today
I was in one today - was like some nice techno haha
Exactly my thoughts, haha
Was really relaxing for me

I herd that before

It almost sounds just as loud as my mom talking. Lol

What actually causes that sound?

Ye sound mere time par produce huwa tha 😨😰.
Is it that loud because of the MRI Machine being extremely loud or is it just a hole design
Does it have a sequence name? wow! I think DTI and EPI can reach that high too..?
I'm not very smart, but why can you not just turn the sounds off on an m?R I
