That toy will always be very special to me because it was the Optimus Prime that I owned as a kid and had fond childhood memories of.
It’s my absolute favorite version of Optimus Prime ever and the most fun toy of Optimus Prime ever made
This optimus toy is so good that my brother, who is not even a Transformers fan, has cited that this is HIS favorite.
One last feature is the combination with leobreaker to give him a giant lion arm and claw, that and if you wanted to really get crazy and you had the nemesis breaker, you could give him 2 kitty claw arms of destruction lol
I hope we get a Third Party LeoBreaker and WingBreaker to combine with the third party galaxy convoy

For me, the Armada - Energon - Cybertron era, toywise, is the best they have done, by far. But Cybertron, is the cherry on top of that era. Top quality plastics, solid, mostly unobtrusive gimmicks, still got your money's worth when getting them brand new. Still got new characters vs nostalgia dumps on a respectable ratio, favouring new guys with new alt. modes. The last combinations and "Super Modes" for a long time. You had a variety of different character types with different styles of alt modes too. You had your beasts, your regular and futuristic vehicles, spaceships, military vehicles, construction vehicles, even a planet-former in Primus.
I can't believe it is almost 20 years since these were on shelves. I would be really happy and willing to pay whatever they asked for them if Hasbro just reissued most of the Cybertron line, like they did with some Beast Wars figures some years ago. It is that good of a line.

I can’t imagine many of the Cybertron molds were lost considering they were being sold at discount outlets and BotCon up until around 2010. However, since we’re knee deep into Cybertron getting the most love out of anything in Legacy that isn’t G1 or Animated (even though I think Animated’s faring better now; there hasn’t been a Vector Prime-level misfire… yet), I don’t think HasTak is going to risk cannibalizing themselves, especially since there’s an entire Cybertron-themed capsule at Walmart next year. That, and we could end up in a monkey’s paw scenario where everything is comedically overpriced (Primus’s last rerelease was over $200) and we end up with the most glup shiddo-tier characters instead of the series’s main cast (we’d somehow end up with Swindle, Thunderblast, Mudflap, and Quickmix after a whole wave dedicated to Optimus, Jetfire, Hot Shot, Scattorshot, Vector Prime and Landmine).
Ok, I went 18 years without knowing this about Cybertron Optimus, but the legs have a tiny slider that clicks out below the knee. It doesn't really change anything, but it blew my mind that my favorite Prime still had something new for me to discover.
It creates a bit of extra clearance between the legs, so the pegs don't interfere with articulation even when the hips are closed.
People would miss u if u left.. My mom got me him and the titan starscream for Xmas one year. It is a beautiful prime.

I still have this figure but with the wing saber combination which makes him look better with the white and gold chest piece. Just magnificent

THIS figure was a beast! I remember my Mom getting him for me back in 2006. He will have a place in my heart as one of the FIRST Optimus Prime toys I have ever gotten. He ended up relatively in one piece save for a missing/broken windshield plate one his left side :D

It's the best prime toy ever made in my book. The best blend of aesthetics to gimmicks to playability and plastic feel. We've had transforming primes, combining primes, masterpieces but this really represents the ideal transformer for me - cool, large, solid, fun to transform, with options for additional complexity.
This is definitely my favorite transformer. I remember getting this for Christmas when it originally released. My copy is incredibly loose from how much I played with it when I was a kid
Seeing this guy reminds me of how absolutely chinced collectors are today.
Granted, collectors of old like us walk into the new stuff, but newcomers have no idea. The sheer gravitas of a Cybertron toy is unmatched.
Hell, I know people shit their pants about Megatron’s colour scheme but it works. It just works. I look at that mango-orange bastard and say, “Yeah. That’s Megatron,” even if he looks like a G2-Energon love child.

I used to own almost every Cybertron Transformers toys, and Optimus Prime was certainly one of them, he is majestic in almost every way! One of the best ever created! The Cybertron toyline is probably one of the best as well as a whole, the cartoon was very entertaining as well. Good work on reaching that 1000th video, TJ! Well done!

Hey!! Nice! Cybertron Optimus Prime has always been my favorite OP figure of all time as well, so I am super happy to see that there is someone else who shares that love. Every mode is superbly done, it’s by far my favorite way they did a non-mask to masked version with the lever on the back of the head, and the super mode is GOD TIER. It takes the general Optimus prime form, modernizes/futurizes it, gives it GIANT guns that perfectly rotate around to look like they are mounted under his arms, and then the coup de grace - freakin’ wings!! I absolutely love it. Great choice, and great video!!
I'm surprised you never made a video review on this guy long time ago. And likewise, this is probably my favorite Optimus Prime toy and probably design of all time.
I have the Galaxy Force version of this figure, and, even though I'm missing the cyber key and amongst all of my other figures and even third party figures, I have some great memories with this toy and I love him so much as my favorite Transformer of all time.
I picked up Galaxy Force Optimus Prime on my first trip to Japan - which is why it's one of my favorites.
I started watching you a little after you started this daily video thing a few years ago, so it's great to see you come so far.
I have to admit, this is one of my favourites too. I'm still glad a friend of mine was able to get one for me at TFNation 2019. I had Wing Saber growing up, but never got Optimus until then.
I have the Takara version of this. Cybertron was my introduction to Transformers.
This is my second favorite Transformer in my collection. First being Armada Optimus.

He was my favorite toy as a kid so I've been slowly putting mine back together missing missiles and the cyberplanet key.
The Galaxy Force repaint was not only the first legit Transformers toy I got, it was also one I bought with money I earned myself. And with an abundance of other great figures, it is still the centerpiece of my TF collection.

Yeah, I still think this is probably like my top 3 favorite transformers of all time. It's just an amazing toy. Heavy, solid, great looking modes. I grew up with G1, so this isn't even one I grew up with, I just remember getting it at a TRU and being immediately blown away when I took him out of the package. As soon as I held that truck mode, I just felt blown away by the sheer quality of it. It felt like it was worth every penny in a way I don't think I've ever really felt since.
My personal favorite is still BW Depthcharge, because the manta ray mode is huge and beautiful looking.

As a matter of fact, you made this video so much fun, I barely registered that it's almost half an hour long.
To me, this Prime will always be the one that got away. I never had the money when he was still on store shelves and I was a kid. It's become increasingly harder to find one in decent shape with all of his parts and even the busted ones go for big money these days. I'm almost afraid to buy one now, fearing it'll spoil collecting forever after.

The best Transformer toy. Even on it's own it's a fun beefy robot with so many options. But then you get Leobreaker and Wing Saber and the fun continues on with even more.
Back in March I found the Galaxy Force release of this guy at a toy show for $80 and at first I was floored by that price but it's legit and I finally understand after all these years how good this mold truly is.

I have the hybrid style version of this guy. It's a good shrunken down version of the leader class toy. Cybertron optimus prime is a pretty cool design.
I have the base figure when me and my family went to a random V Stock on the way back home from Kansas City. Even though it's missing everything, it's still a solid figure

Managed to get my hands on the Japanese version a few years back and absolutely love this guy, easily one of my all time favorite transformers figure too. And I love how he looks when combined with wing saber, just wish I hadn’t lost the swords.
I am glad the toys shrank. Some of the older toys were just huge and space is an issue. I like that we have an appropriate scale now.

Congrats on 1,000. Sadly, I checked out of transformers for a bit after Energon. So I ended up missing out on Cybertron. I always thought Optimus looked like a phenomenal figure though. I can see why you like it so much.
Also, never having owned this figure, I didn't know he had that many features. I figured he was around RID Optimus's feature level, which is still a lot. But Cybertron Optimus is loaded.
Oh there's even a translucent one and an even more metallic one of him and it looks spectacular.

There's also the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime which was the Hasbro release of MP-1 Convoy released 2003/ 2004. The only difference between the Hasbro and Takara versions is that the Hasbro version had short smokestacks and added burn marks. That figure had a removable Matrix of Leadership that could be opened and a light-up Matrix Chamber.
