Thank you to all of the applicants for this years’ grants. There were so many deserving individuals and we are so happy be able to award $17,500 in monies and $3,500 in workshops ($21,000 total in scholarship funding) plus event tickets from the amazing events donating tickets to our foundation. Event tickets have been graciously donated by: Charlotte Westie Fest, The Chicago Classic, DC Swing eXperience, Derby City Swing, Easter Swing, Floorplay Swing Vacation, High Desert Dance Classic, Jack & Jill O’Rama, MAD Jam, Meet Me In St. Louis, Michigan Classic, Monterey Swingfest, SO Swing, Swinging’ Dance Party, Swing City Chicago, Swing Fling, Swingtacular, Swingtime, Tampa Bay Classic, TAP: The After Party, Trilogy Swing, Westies on the Water.
Each of these individuals has been vetted by The Silton Foundation’s Board of Directors and we believe that these shining individuals will continue to do amazing things for the dance community as well as to work on their own growth as dancers in the West Coast Swing world.
The recipients have lots of financial hardships - but instead of telling you about their struggles, we wanted to share a bit about them as people and about their dance history.
Congratulations to the following 15 recipients for the 2023-2024 Silton Foundation scholarships and we look forward to seeing how they grow themselves as dancers and their local and national and international communities as well.
