Dimash sings with a famous male Chinese opera singer. He does use a whistle tone, you can hear this in several of his songs, Unforgettable Day which he wrote himself at Gakku festival is a good example. I believe it's on his channel. Great reactions thank you.

By the way, The Singer Show 2017, where Dimash ended up placing second, is really worth watching, not just for Dimash but for some of the other contestants. The show was a showcase for well known, professional Chinese singers and Dimash was invited as a wildcard - the youngest competitor at 22 and the first foreigner to ever appear in the show. Dimash became an overnight star on his first performance in the first episode of SOS (600 million views), winning the episode and the rest is history.🙏🏻🇦🇺

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. I posted it yesterday, on the Sinful Passion review that Jeff did but I don't think I could find a better place to pair it with than your comment!
HOW DIMASH CAME TO BE DIMASH

Written in a moment of Dimash inspired, contemplation and reverie, which I am sure you share with me. To wit.
AND THEN, the fateful day arrived when Dimash asked God.
"Father, may I please go down to earth for a lifetime and sing for the people there?"
God frowned, looked dismayed and sternly said - with dark clouds, thunder ominously sounding and lighting flashing in the background:
"You mean, instead of singing for me every morning, night and day, that I will have to do without you, be deprived, made bereft?
What about the Celestial Angels? Who's going to teach them how to sing if you aren't here?
Do you realize? How much you are asking of me - asking me to give up?"
Dimash smiled and said. "Father, you always did have a wonderful sense of humor and knew how to make me smile but, you are too kind, and I unworthy of such high praise yet, needless to say, honored and grateful,
but in terms of eternity one lifetime away from You won't seem like that much and don't think I won't miss You too.
But, this is important to me. The world's going through a hard time now and maybe I can help with my singing to lighten, lift things and people up a bit.

As many accolades are given to Dimash and his incredible skills. The third performance which was a voice battle with Li Gugang deserves attention. Li performs in the nandan (female) role of tradition Chinese Opera. In traditional Chinese Opera women were not allowed to appear on stage so men performed the nandan roles. My favorite movie of all time is a Chinese movie "Farewell My Concubine" named after a famous Peking Opera. The movie chronicled the life of two young boys when they were thrown into an opera training school and eventually became famerous Opera Stars. One of which played the nandan role. Hats off to Li Gugang as well for his performance of the Diva Dance.

Dimash Kudabergen, living legend, genius singer, one in a million, no, one in a billion. With 23 years of classical training, he has become a unique vocalist. He has an amazing musical education, all the technical details he sings and uses, he knows how it works. He is musical perfection. There is no technical detail that he doesn't have, no one has ever had such talent and skills, he can be bass, baritone, tenor, counter tenor, alto, mezzo soprano, soprano and so on, he sings in 15 languages, he has the biggest range . He sings many genres, opera, pop, rap and so on. In addition to the talent that God gave, the work that he did is amazing. From the age of 5, he dedicated his life to music, did everything to develop it (swimming in the pool, breathing control, range, healthy lifestyle)He is an amazingly humble, warm simple man, apart from his musical excellence, as a person he is an amazing person. His songs are exceptionally complex both technically and emotionally, he is able to properly develop emotion in music both vocally and artistry.Dimash has fans (called dears) from 150 countries around the world. I'd say her fans are special because we don't love Dina because she has good looks (well, she's very attractive and cute) or because her performances are fun (unlike other pretend singers who are more performers than singers and vocalists). We love him because of the talent he has, because of the work he has done almost all his life. He deserves everything. There is no other singer who can be compared to him, he is at the apogee of development. He plays 7 instruments, loves the culture of his country and wants to introduce it to the world. As I already wrote, he is very educated, he is still studying. he has 2 degrees in classical and contemporary, and on the way to a doctorate in musicology.Dimash has an incredible range that no one has ever had, full range 7.7 octaves, from G0 to D8. ( D8 whistle note , off the piano) Has very good details, staccato, distinctive vibrato, rifs, melizens, vocal acrobatic, glissando, crescendo, dominoendo, long notes, breath control, correct tesitura, Able to develop emotion properly, fit roles well . Uses professional technique, Italian Bell Canto technique. In his song it feels like he is a professional even without high notes.Unfortunately, as always, geniuses are appreciated late, this guy deserves much, much more recognition, I hope the time will come and he will be properly appreciated. I also want to mention that Dimash is like a drug. I have been listening to him for the third year, I can't imagine a day without listening to him, he is the best, not because he sings high notes and has a great range, but because he enters the soul with his song and you feel something you have never felt before. .But if we consider it from a technical point of view, in this case too
Dimash is the best. As vocal teachers and professionals say, her singing is technical perfection.Dimash's parents are singers, his mother is a soprano, his father is a singer and also a producer, as far as I know, Dimash's grandparents are singers, so from a musical point of view, Dinash has good genetics, he has a natural innate talent, which he developed after 23 years of work, and we have a unique singer in front of us. I could probably write a lot more, but I'll stop now, I want more people to know about him, believe me, you won't regret it. I hope I conveyed what I wanted to say correctly.

Thank you! Just a quick note. 85% of the song in the movie was sung by an Albanian soprano named Inva Mula-Tchako. Only the really unsingable tones were added electronically. And no live singer since has actually sung the impossible jumps, not even Dimash. Dimash sings the song a semi-tone lower than the original, and there are certain modifications to avoid the really impossible parts. But some other of his modifications are even more difficult than in the original. In any case, Dimash´s Bastau version is still the best out there, better than those of the few ladies who tried hard to sing that song.

The opera, The Drunken Concubine is about an emporer’s favourite concubine who did or was framed with something wrong, and had to be executed. This song represented their last drink together….plus of course it was mixed with the Diva Dance.

Drunken Concubine in dialogue the tragic story between a famous concubine of the Chinese imperial court, Li Yugang in that role, and the emperor, Dimash’s rol that’s why the throne at stage. At the end of the story the concubine is poisoned as a result of court intrigues. Li Yugang is a famous artist considered China’s National Treasure and he is a nan dan singer (male playing female roles) art forms from Peking Opera, giving the traditional art a modern edge. The way he moves (knees bent together and those "meows" have a special meaning in the traditional opera). What is most amazing about Li is that he couldn’t study in the university or conservatory of music, he is absolutely autodidact which is so admirable!! 👌👍💥 ❤️🎤🔝 One of the things a I love the most of Dimash is his versatility and his ability to show us different cultures through the music. In this case with Li Yugang, they have made a perfect match with the traditional Peking Opera style, beautiful 🌟The fact that you have confused the gender means Li Yugang is a master of his artistry!!! However she showed them all up. & became a international star afterwards touring the globe.u Gang is a renown Opera singer in China, . Yes that was Dimas's Dolphin note! yes, that was a whistle from Dimash. Unforgettable Day at Gakku from Dimash is the highest note sung live by a male (D8) Dimash usually does a whistle in this song which he composed when he was 19 but usually it’s a D7, at Gakku, he missed the D7, so decided to do a D8 instead!

It’s customary in China for men to sing the woman’s part, the tone is more nasal than Dimash’s tone, although I have noticed that a more nasal tone is customary in Kazakhstan sometimes, I obviously could be wrong. I really enjoyed the triple reaction and yes he definitely did a whistle tone in the last one. Thank you Jeff.

Yes, Li Yugang is a much revered opera singer in the China National Opera Theatre. He has trained extensively in the traditional forms of the female operatic voice and those 'piercing' and ultra delicate notes are from not only their tonal language but also heavily steeped in their Operatic tradition. What's interesting to compare and to contrast is that Dimash also has trained in traditional Operatic techniques, also since childhood, but his is the Italian Opera Tradition. As you point out he has a much fuller and rounder 'colour', however, I have listened to this a couple of times and I think Dimash here might have made some adjustments to lessen this distance between the two tones. ie: enough for them to still be sweet and distinguishable - but not jarring. Be interested to know if this was the case.
Nb. My favourite is the Confessa / Diva dance version.
The clever contrast between his full rich tenor - at times baritone - notes and the extreme highs of Diva are spectacular and who else could drop to his knees and pound dramatically on the stage with his fist - or fling himself onto his back - without everyone bursting into giggles and calls about over-drama. But with Dimash it isn't. It's Perfect! Everyone is just delighted! Yes! that feels right! Cracks me up every time... 😂
... Oh it was, I think... a Lithuanian? Fm Opera Singer who did the original vocals for this, but I gather they had to record some of her vocals differently and adjust or meld electronically.👍

"The impossible song", sung in eastern operatic tones versus western operatic tones - a real cultural treat! But that's our Dimash - not content with "just" breaking music boundaries and challenging the established rules on voice, he can't help but travel the globe encouraging those of a mind to, to do just the same!😉😆🎶

Very interesting and good reaction. In Confessa and the diva dance Dimash sang this song for the first time. You are totally right, when you assume that this was a competition, it`s called "I am a Singer" and is a competion for famous singers in China to compete. Dimash was the youngest participant in history, he was 22 years old. This competition show made him famous in China and thanks to youtube to the rest of the world, too. There are a lot of wonderful performances worthy to check out for you. Bastau was Dimash`s first solo concert and he sang The Diva Dance in the middle of the concert after singing more than 90min. Incredible! In Drunken concubine + Diva Dance Li Yugang who is a male opera singer using a special chinese technique of singing there are different cultures and singing styles combined, which I think is wonderfully done here. And yes Dimash sings a whistle note. You can trust your ears...;)

He always changes what he sings in every version of every song. He loves to have fun, create a surprise and please his audience with something new. And yes you heard a whistle tone! It was F#7.
Li Yugang is an amazing male singer who can sing the female parts in traditional Chinese opera. He is self taught, and because of this he was rejected for many years by Chinese opera who only accept the best from the traditional schools and continue their training in a rigid manner. He was unable to get work for a long time. However he turned it around and is now bringing traditional music to an international audience. The Drunken Concubine is his most famous role. He is a lovely person, kind and funny. He is a very good actor and also excels in comedic roles. It is noticeable in this performance of Diva Dancethat he was slightly sharp on some of the notes and behind the beat a little, but the song is challenging for all singers and it needs techniques that he isn't used to using, so I think it's understandable. Dimash has been perfecting in for years now, since he was a teenager, so we can't expect anyone else introduced to it for the first time to get it perfect. I think they both did a brilliant job and their voices blended beautifully in an unusual way, especially at the end part of free vocalisation. Stunning.

Regarding the Singer competition, you should react to Adagio (cover of Lara Fabian song) and Autumn strong (for me his best performances with the famous SOS of course). He learnt Autumn Strong in Chinese in 1 week, and people cried in the crowd... If you react to Autumn Strong, it could be interesting to do it back to back with the Arnau version, one of the most beautiful performance by Dimash: a full stadium was in a total silence during this song, which is completely crazy and demonstrates his power not only vocally but also by captivating the audience. If you want to hear his highest recorded whistle note to date, and of course subject to change at any time, please react to "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku. That's his father by the way who is giving Dimash a long hug and back rubs after he sings 5th element on The Singer competition. Dimash said that his Dad is his idol and the person he most respects in the world!!! Very special father/son relationship!! I love all 3 versions, but that 3rd one with that note off the piano, not even on the piano is just awesome!! I truly believe that Dimash is a 5th density being, not native to here on earth which is 3rd density!! :)

The 5th element song was 80% just an opera singer- but to give it the alien feel they used computer sampling and made a song basically unsingable by humans :)
It still is in its entirety- there is a small bit of a couple notes that Dimash has changed here- because nobody could ever sing it- but otherwise the rest is accurate. Lots of other singers have attempted it and some of the are pretty damn good- all females ofcourse- but Dimash's is the closest to the origional by far.
