One of the best television series ever!
Lily is so underrated! She was devoted to her family but still pretty independent, and was never afraid to get jobs to help out, in a time when women were just expected to keep house over all else. They also were really encouraging of Marilyn to get an education. The show needs more credit for their progressive side!
Why do you say “ underrated”? Do you know who Yvonne de Carlo was? She was my aunt in Vancouver. She was two years older than my mother.

I always thought for its time The Munsters was very progressive and Lily was a very strong character,she was a dutiful and dotting housewife and mother but she was also outspoken,opinionated and never was afraid to take on risks and show her independence.

I used to love watching reruns of Herman and Lily with my Grandfather. Now my kids love watching The Munsters with me. They really are timeless.

I'm 62.and haven't watched this show since I was a kid. I'm cracking up, so hysterical. I didn't appreciate how great this show was back then, so well done and very funny. Nothing today compares.
