"Don't forget to play" - Poe One
I don't usually watch interviews... But something tells me that I should click and watch this one, and I must say, it's things like this always brings my drifted mind back to the roots of why I chose to dance on this earth. Thank you Poe.
#Breaklife
Yes MR. Poe, it's a very strange time for b.boying. I am now 43 years of age, in good shape and love to b.boy. I put a lot of character in my dance, but the younger b.boys look at me as though I'm from another planet, I live in England and it's even worse here as everybody seems to be learning by youtube and there seems to be no character with a lot of the new skool guys, no fun, no creativity, no soul! It's as though the body snatchers invaded b.boying over night and they woke up soulless and afraid to have fun and be funky. Pleeeease let's get back to the roots and stop stifling ourselves!!!!
I'm part of the new generation of breaking, I'm so lucky that my teachers have worked really closely with Poe One over the years and have passed down his knowledge onto me. To me, Hip Hop is about sharing and working together, to create a community. I first saw breaking when I was a kid, over 13 years ago...but only got the courage to start at the beginning of the year, sooo 6 months ago. I train with a group of bboys who embody the same mentality that Poe is talking about in this video. B-Boys and B-Girls are still out there, you just got to find them. When Poe talks about the social experience, that's the reason I fell in love with Hip Hop. Keep pushing this knowledge, don't lose faith with the next generation of dancers....there are those that have that hunger.
This interview with Poe, always leaves me breathless...!
this man takes me to the light since my biginning steps god bless you my G . #2020
"Don't forget to play" Fuckin ay!!!! Words to live by, bboy or no.
I'm lucky to be on the cusp between old and new sc cool so got to experience both first hand...

Poe you're the idol for lot of breaking cats
poe one is a such a nice guy! i listened to him with pleasure.
i think that time is changed, and what was OK in 80, now looks strange.
accept this and live as you want but dont forget the roots
Poe1 makes me remember eraly days i start break....i have to go back and learn the passion i have, the energy i have...i have to learn myself, the kid from 5 years ago. MUCH RESPECT 2 u, Poe1. One day, i will meet u to know more the real....
I remember when Remind came to my session spot Stockton, CA, he told us the same thing in the workshop about being a kid again in the dance. That the dance was created by kids and the spirit of the youth within. Ill never forget those words. And its amazing as well that he is from Stockton.
But Yea, POE ONE is defiantly one of my Favorite bboys that i look up to.

WORD Up.
Fucking Legend !! we miss you man
True about the aurora of the bboy,. Don't see this originality anymore..
what is the music? :D
I agree with the term b-boy or b-girl no matter what age. Not exactly for the same reason mentioned in the video, but because I believe we are always students and the destination of a b-boy or b-girl is never reached. So we can never call ourselves a master. Always a student learning more and more creative ways to move to the music. Plus b-man sounds lame.
POW POW IS DEFINITELY NATIVE AND BLACK.
RESPECT!!!!!!
