Thank you for doing this bro. It's always good to know what a job looks like before you're heading into it, so now I can use this as a reference with my f30. 👍
Man, tough crowd in some of these comments. Appreciate this video bro I'm going to do this in my m4
Great job on that video. I'm doing one tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
Just did this, there are two sets of blue and black speaker wires. You want to pick the thicker of the two. And instead of doing one black, one blue, do both blues. I believe it’s blue/red and blue/brown
Sir absolutely amazing video... took me a little less than a hour to complete the job. Really it was putting the connectors on the wires that was time consuming. Other than that you pretty much simplified it.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You cut my installation time in half by identifying the wires.
Did you have to get an after market deck or can we use the stock deck?
what color did you use for the remote turn off switch?
There are 2 brown ground wires coming off the truconnex box, where does those connect to the ground to the amp?
Ti works awesome thanks
Oh yeah !!! Thank you !!!!
Are adding s7bs bad for beemers battery?
Good work and nice video. I’m glad I found something for this vehicle.
But I’ve a Question (not blaming you) Why my car Bluetooth not working after performing this setup? I’m wondering if I touched any wire or something coz my phone connects to the Bluetooth but other person don’t hear anything.
The other thing is aux input. Only right side front speakers works and all other speakers only have sound like 5% when I use auxiliary input.
I tried new aux wire to rule out of auxiliary wire gone bad. gone bad that I use from phone to car auxiliary jack. But no luck. I added this to the Bluetooth problem in case if these two things are related.
Has your amp ever overheated in that cabin?
Do you have standard or Hi-Fi radio setup ? In Standard the cables won‘t be in the trunk due to the missing stock amp.
same question here. bump
Don’t you need the negative signals from the subwoofer wires aswell? Won’t the sound quality be better then as u have grounded R- and L- now.
Is it possible to do this if my car doesn’t already have subs?
Is this install same for a e60. I have a 7logic amp.
Can anyone help me, my F31 bmw Harmon Kardon amp has suffered water damage. Would I be able to install an aftermarket one in or will I have to get the exact HK amp Thanks
Is your car Harman Kardon from factory ?
Also what settings did u use from your stock headunit to make the sub punchy ?
im having issues :)
Me having issues too with harman kardon subwoofer install, did you get it?
Is the same in my BMW X5e70 2008 ? Thanks
Can you make a video about the bass knob because I want to install one but I don’t know how plz
2016 320i base no amp in the trunk what to doo ?
What modifications should I make when Im just trying to run a single 10" sub?
?
just curious was there a reason why u grounded your other negative channel outputs? thanks
I grounded them because they were ground wires, the other two were positive wires
I was wondering the same thing.. speaker negative wires are ground wires?
Any issues with power?
Great video! Looking to do this to my M4 that has HK. At high volume, with your setup, how did you bypass the clipping/rolloff that you get from the stock system to the under seat subs at higher volumes?
Unplug the under seat subs bro
make sure you put your amp to high vs low for speaker input
Does this void warranty? I have 2 10s collecting dust and i want to install them on my 2016 328i
I don't believe it does. But please do not quote me on that!
I dont have a solid brown or black wire on my amp for the ground
U dont have to connect the interface on the bmw radio for rca connection?
No.
I have a 2016-328i and I followed step by step this installation and I can’t get any audio from my subwoofer. I have the same truconnex converter
Did you adjust the volume from the connector itself? There should be two screws in the middle of it, make sure they are adjusted up and make sure your amp is powering up as well!
DIESELDANPETERS That was the issue. Thanks for your help.
Could you please drop a list of everything i need to buy?
Trying to find the truconnex box but need a name. Have the amp and sub and wiring kit.
You can get any high/low converter
I’ve got one. So how and what did you wire into the back of the radio unit? Did you touch that at all?
You don’t
Do you have any issues with airflow to the amp?
I do not!
I also wondered this. Amps get hot after some use so they need some breathing space to dissipate heat
Where is your ground wire connected with the bare metal connection?
It can be connected to bare metal but I believe he just attached it to the ground of the battery. Either way it’s the same
could you please let me know the rest of the wiring
blue/red (left positive)
black/red (right positive)
small black wire(remote)
left negative? what color?
right negative? what color?
What are the negatives?
Hey i had a question, did you run into ANC issues or artificial noise issues coming through the subwoofer while driving?
I did not! But you need to make sure you have strong wire to wire connection!
Great video ,I have a similar set up and I’m actually looking to change how it’s hooked up as I don’t like the sound at ALL. Will this work ? Absolutely but please hear me out.
If you get your signal from wires running to underseat subwoofers you will not get full range of bass as those subs hit lower notes and only some mid notes ,higher bass notes are sent to other speakers in the car ,the result is exaggerated lows and non existent high bass notes ruining overall quality of sound. What I’m looking to do instead is listen for a speaker that plays all notes and tap my signal from there. Rather amplify Bass of bass I’d rather give my amp the full signal and let the built in LPF out the lows from highs and that way I think you will get a more cleaner CONSISTENT bass notes. I know you know exactly what I’m trying to say as I’ve seen you’ve tried to get round that problem by adding the bass knob. You and I know it’s almost impossible for it to be enjoyable as the bass overpowers on lows and then cuts out on high notes.
Happy instal everyone let me know if anyone is encountering similar problem
I seen another video where dude plugged them into the white and red with white and brown wires
No sure if wiring is the same across all bmw3 series of that time but I’d say tapping to wire that has full signal would be best but there has to be a better way to hook it up than this
I have a question did you disconnect the subs from under the seats or did you keep them plugged in?
I have the same question. Can you please answer?
Need answer too
What if I don’t have an amp in the back
you take the signals behind the radio
And did you connect the wires to the sub wires or speaker wires ?
the wires I pointed out are for the subwoofer and no i did not disconnect them
DIESELDANPETERS going to re check my wires cause iam not getting bass i connected the sub wires to the subs from under the seat but not getting bass
Sorry to bug but the wires you connected where the wires from under the seats the thicker ones i have a 2015 xdrive dont know if i did it right
i Darkoo it doesn’t bother me! Always feel free to ask! They are in the truck to the left covered by a box! I have a 2014 328d xdrive so I should be the same thing. I believe they were thicker but look for the same colors mentioned in the video
You didn't talk about the remote wire from the car to the Amp
Would this be the same for an e90 ??
yes!
And your ground shouldn’t be longer then a foot when you pushing real power for a sub
I’m unable to locate the black remote wire you tapped into?
Its going to be super thin, did you take the tape off the harness?
I can’t locate it either is a t wrapped around another color wire
Your video really helps. Thanks. But I am still trying to figure out which wires I have to tap into for the Left and Right Subs that are under the seats.
Mine is a 2019 430 (f36) and has a Hifi System. Searching online, I am reading that the wires for Left Sub = Red/White (+) & Brown/Yellow (-) and the wires for the Right Sub = Blue/Red (+) & Brown/white (-). In my car, where you access the wires in the trunk, I see 2 of each of the above wires as well as 2 of the Black/Red wires. Some are thicker than the other tho. Any help or advice on this would be great.
bmw rarely changes speaker wire colors, i believe it was the same for my 97 530i. The wires going to the sub may be the two above but you want to tap into the sub wires that aren't amplified already (BMWs have additional speaker amplifiers). I would personally stick with the colors I listed above but again, it is your choice.
DIESELDANPETERS I followed your steps and I connected the negative wires on the Line output converter to the ground, but it didn’t sound good at all. So I ended up tapping into the Blue/red wire (+) & the blue/brown(-) and connected them to the white (+) & white/black (-) on the Line output converter. And then the same for the Black/red (+) & Black/brown (-) and connected to them to the gray (+) & gray/black (-) on the LOC.
Everything seems to be working BUT when I rev my engine, my subwoofers also rev with the engine, even when I have the radio off or on mute.
Any idea why this is happening? Looks like I’m getting too much power or something. We do have the correct sub wires tho because when I turn the factory subs/bass down on my radio, it turns my kicker subs down.
Faran Malik - Looks Like Its The ASD Bro. Active Sound Design. You’ll have to Bypass it. If You have Bimmercode then You can disable it without Fiddling with any of the Hardware.
@@kutamunda2 would this be the same for bmw f30 CiC as i have same colour wires on back of quadlock behind radio .. just to confirm i dont have an amp in the boot or car ... thanks in advance.
Is it the same on a f20?
should be!
Yeahh.... i think I’ll just pay some place to do it for me.. 😞
I've lifted up my left hand piece from the boot and there's no wires there? Where are the wires
I don;t know which system you have but this is for the hifi version, stock BMW system here in the U.S.
Hi. Do you connect RCA converter on the Sub wire to OEM Amp or on Sub wire to OEM Subs?
the sub wire should go to an external amp.
@@zippyzappyz no hes asking about the wire you tapped into and connected to your line out convertor. You spliced it to a set of the thicker wires. Those thicker wires are for the stock sub woofers. What He was asking is if those sub wires that you tapped into… were they the stock sub wires on their input side or were they the wires that were leaving the stock amp output and going to the subs
@@zippyzappyz i was also wondering the same thing. Trying to install my line out convertor and when i spliced it to a wire going to one of the mid ranges, then hooked everything else up, the sub is not playing only low’s. You can hear slight voice and other instrument noises that are not normal for subwoofers. I checked all my amp settings amd polarity connections and its none of those so i am thinking its the channel i tapped into for my line converter input
I have 2013 750Li with the bang and olufsen 16 speaker system. It pounds something serious but im adding a 2500 watt 15” sub for much lower lows. Just cant find the right wires to tap my line converter to. Also wondering… did you only connect the positive speaker wire to the line convertor audio input (that larger stock sub wire with red stripe on it from your video) and then for the speaker negative did you say you tied the negative speaker inputs to the same common ground used for the amp ground?
So the remote wire spliced into the small black wire didn’t work for me …
Did you find out how to make it work? I have to find a 12v wire to tap into that will turn off after the car is locked and cant find a diagram that tells this info😢
Great video brotha but your wiring looks like shit shouldn’t use bud connectors sodering would be the way to go
THANKIESS i have a 013 128i coupe and although not 100 percent the same layout this video helps alot more than others
i should make a tutorial vid once my dumass has an amp installed properly
czcams.com/video/6SQTTWLgarQ/video.html ^^^^
definitely not a stock stereo bmw. your car comes already with the amp, so you have at least the hi-fi system, correct the titlle.
Goddamn, you could you make this any more difficult to follow?
No fuse!!!?
Kristin Rae I didn’t think I needed to show it but the fuse is there
Where is the fuse located for the stock amp? Trunk? I blew a fuse.
@@chicagosson2555 it is in the trunk!
Pick a Broken axe 🤣
Horrible looking install. Amp not bolted down, wires not ziptied, no neatness.
Ive had it the way it is for the last 4 years now without a problem. Sorry tthe video didn't meet your standard!
This video tells you how to setup amp and speakers to your car. The things you are talking about can be taken care. Not a big deal.
Atleast you have a video on this car.
I’d suggest placing the camera on a stand or something. This is nauseating
