It was all so angelic...couldn't help but be so spiritually moved. i commend his expertise with all choirs that he worked during his life. The beauty of altos, sopranos, etc. all voice levels blending in as ONE. that's what real music is about. I can't sing but my ears havealways been trained to recognize and identify GOOD singing. The man was a pure genius!!!
After, almost twenty five years James Cleveland, blow as it were the dust off his Old "Peace Be Still" recording with the Angelic Choir (Vol 3). This Just goes to show that good music will always stand the test of time. Rest in PEACE James.

That Monday night at West Angeles COGIC, Los Angels, CA is one of my fondest memories. My brother Carl singing in the tenor section @3:46 says "Yeah!" to confirm whenever the Lord says peace there will be peace be still.
Memories are what God gives us to make it through whatever it is we are going through. I have remembered and made it through...thank God for Rev. James Cleveland and all the others who gave and continue to give good ole' traditional gospel...it lives in the soul for it continues to move us each time with hear it with the ear and hear it in our hearts. omg i remember this!!! i been thinking about this clip. this was on bobby jones gospel. this was 2 years before i got saved and filled with the holy ghost. i remember on that sunday morning me and my grandmother was watching this before church. and for 2 years i was wondering what kind of peace they were talking about. imagine a 10 year old thinking like that, but if you knew the life i was living at 10. if you knew the demons that were chasing me at 10!!!! then you would understand. James Cleveland and all the others who gave and give traditional gospel music for it feeds the soul...it nourishes us when we're alone with our sadness...allow Him to give you peace in your time of need...He brought me through...I have never forgotten...

This man was a legend. Rev. Cleveland came to the Bahamas in the early 80's he and Shirley Caesar and tore up Paradise Island. Men like him paved the way for many of the artist we hear and especially see today, thanks to all the media technology they take advantage of. I wish I could see more of these people, you know those real artists from the old school.
Now this is that soul stirrin gospel music! This is the music that got your grandparents and their parents through those storms of life. Ain't nothing like a old gospel spiritual.

He started a workshop to develop and mentor individuals singing God's praise. Now for all those who like to gossip and keep up mess, I say Peace Be Still.

This has always been my Mother's favorite gospel song. I often remember the times she lead the choir singing this at Mitchell Tabernacle in Fireworks Station, Illinois now known as Alorton.
