Pity is great to have, but I imagine it won't affect the F2P players that don't save for months on end for one particular banner. I think the coolest thing from the recent news is the method to convert coins into Grails system.
Please explain what the pity system does. I’m confused as all hell.
@@EveryoneFearest If my interpretation is right, then the pity gives you the rate-up SSR when you did a total of 330 rolls in that banner. Since every multiroll gives you 11 rolls, you'll need 900 SQ to achieve the pity requirement. Rolling using tix also adds up to the number of rolls you do in that specific banner.
@@allenadriansolis8032 does the rate gradually build up the more u roll, (for example: if I roll 90sqs worth, does the rate increase to 2%) or do u have to keep rolling till u hit 900sqs and get ur ssr

I personally think it's pointless for most people since unless you were dead set on getting the servant no matter the cost, or going for higher NP levels you will not reach the 900 sq threshold
the way they implemented the pity system in FGO honestly opens up a whole debate on what function the pity system truly has
this current pity system feels like it's just for dedicated pulls going triple bonkers on a single banner or for whales. but whales will get what they want either way most of the time so why do they need assistance? IMO, pity system should help out light spenders get what they want more, and give F2P players a small extra push here and there so they keep playing
Yeah I think the function for implementation of pity in this game is different from other games. It doesn't even activate if you get an SSR spook before the pity hits. The main objective of the pity seems to be to retain whales who might quit and move onto other gacha which they've had better luck with.
Compare that to Genshin's pity. It's not often mentioned but Genshin actually has worse rates than FGO. The gacha's almost a mirage it that point. It really pushes you to make use of the pity system that it feels like you're just buying the character for a set amount each time.
Pity system won't affect their revenue since whales will still whale. It will only affect f2p/light spenders who may decide to save more sq for when pity gets released. I also doubt pity will come to na sooner since it's kinda w/e. 1k sq is a lot of sq to save for a guaranteed ssr. Also congrats on the double ggssr, sadly it wasn't castoria.
For the first time ever, I aim to pull for a duplicate instead of new servant because I love Kama summer and Yang so much, and Kama is absolute bonkers when farming... Her NP is single target level when the enemy is charmed and Yang carried me through LB6.
Then the game decided to give me a new servant...
Got Space Ishtar, not disappointed though. Now I have both Rin and Sakura avengers xD

The pity system is almost not existent considering all the stuff that goes with it and the amount you have to spend to get it.

For the GSSR I still don’t know what to pic but I got Vitch in 15 tickets. I hoped for Muramasa to come back but now I will save my farmed SQ for later.
i remember seeing a post about how much free SQ we get every year and it was between 1600 and 2100 which makes getting the pity very possible if you are F2P and just save for specific servants
Exactly, this makes dolphins incentivized to jump to whale and importantly rewards dedicated f2p for saving for their one true waifu/husbando! It's a big pay off and so win/win.
whilst that is true, in my Discord server I'm the only one who ever saves more than 500 SQ to get Servants he wants (with exceptional cases). my friends shoot for SSR they really want with anywhere between 50 to 350 SQ whilst I'm here F2P saving up 2.500 SQ for Muramasa (almost halfway) after having spent 1.3k SQ trying to get Melt
the pity system doesn't carry over. if it did, THEN it would be F2P and dolphin friendly. the way it is now, you need to be dedicated or whale AND unlucky that you don't proc a 0.8% drop chance with 330 attempts. a friend of mine aptly said "if after 330 pulls you didn't get it, you're just cursed tbh"
@@lynxace1602 im a fat dolphin and had only 3 times i had to spend more than 900SQ, thats true. But, if you are playing on na, you can plan 2 years from now (same as you with muramasa). I'd say just use the SQ you get after saving 900, so you can always rely on that if you dont get any unit.
It is f2p friendly in that way, you could save as much as you want but the chance to not get the character would always be there, a problem that will disappear with this
its a pretty bad system when it forces the majority of players to ignor most banners per year just to have the quartz to hit the pity once.
and even if you save up for the pitty you can easily get screwd over by ssr spooks whitch reset the damn thing again.
@@uteriel282 for one, that is the point of the game, making money. F2P players are not supposed to summon on most banners, they have to be smart about which characters to summon on. second, you are wrong, spooks don't reset the counter, only getting the rate-up servant does (which doesn't actually resets it, since this system only works for one copy of the rate-up servant)

Got Squirtle instead of Lolilot on the GSSR on JP. ~_~ She came with a side dish of (NP3) Yagyu which was nice since Yagyu is great.
Congrats on the 2 new SSR Kei, GL in NA GSSR hope you get Arjuna Alter and Yang, for me I just began playing again but I think i will go for the GSSR, I'm debating btw Extra and Zerkers, DW being in a good trajectory lately and FGO story still going quite amazing so I will give then the GSSR money xD, about the pity is good to see we finally getting one, give a bit of incentive to save quartz for future servants just hoping they implement pity in NA before Morgan banner xD.

I kinda wish they didnt even bother with the pity, at this point around 900SQ that had to be spent on a single day for one SSR (around 600CAD) is ridiculous lmao, they should learn from melty blood
they should copy Arknight's pity system; a 4 star chara every 10 pulls, after every 50 pulls you gain an increased 2% chance to pull a 5 star until your 100th pull is 100% chance to get you an SSR
FGO is still a game where people want multiple copies of characters for waifu/husbando/simping reasons as well as gameplay reasons
@@lynxace1602 100% agree, arknights is the best gacha for me (more money spent than fgo or genshin combine) because the result are worth it and i dont feel like im getting straigh up scam lmao, dumb decision like this make player quit the game or don't spend much or anything cause it's just not worth it, fgo is only playable for the gacha twice a year an t's not amazing even, good luck pulling chenlter

As someone who spend nearly 800 rolls and did not get Squirtoria on his first try, I'd say this is very welcome. If this is the direction taking FGO away from DW is going, then I am all for it. This makes it so every gacha I play has a pity system.. even if FGO is currently the worst of the pity systems (Better than none, now we need repeat and autoplay).
Wish I had this with Orion. Literally went to 1k. I will never go that high ever again. But maybe, just one more time for the right servent.
I also got QSH from the GSSR. I was disappointed because I wanted castoria, then I got van gogh after skipping the rolls (thinking I'll never get another one lmao)

I totally get you on the questioning what GSSR to do. The assassin banner would be best for my account but my heart tells me to roll extra 1 for Qin shi huang. I’m also terrified of Holmes on that banner because I already have him lol

😱 I will be saving my pity for a GRAND SERVANT! My GSSR on NA server was Arjuna Alter. So my team now has two Lost Belt Kings including Skadi. Arjuna was exactly what I wanted, more than enough copium for the 200SQ that never summoned Yang Guifei… or any five stars at all! 😅

Got Jaques for GSSR (and like 3 lobos the heck). 15 tickets and 30 quartz got Mordred Spook and Fox Foreigner. It was a very weird pulling day. I’m afraid of my NA luck now. 😂 I’m not gonna get shiz lol
It's nice to see FGO has a Pity system now but I doubt an F2P like me can even hit pity. though, we can now adjust the probabilities now.

Did you mean that after spending 900+ Sq? The next roll will be guaranteed ssr? Coz I experienced gacha hell on space ishtar banner 1.3k Sq and no star. But I do get her on my alt acc. Np2
Having a pity finally is a good thing. I am ok with 300 since that is what other cygames USED to have (or currently have for NA for games like princess Connect). I don't know if Genshin is the cause for pity though. Maybe Sony just wanted to change their image for fgo after buying it to ease the user base's worry. Last I check Cygames game (Umamusume and Princess Connect Re:Dive) have completely over took FGO's position in JP, so that might be another reason to implement the same pity system cygame had offer for so many years.
the pity system is after 330 pulls (including 11th free pulls that's 900 SQ). you get the banner SSR
but in all fairness a pity system requiring 300 pulls on a single banner (doesn't carry over) makes it exceedingly rare to have any use for the average player. you need to be a real whale or simp hardcore for a specific Servant/banner before it has impact. needing to pull 300 times (11th free pulls excluded) and failing 330 times to proc a 0.8% chance... that's a shot in the dark

that sounds like a weird way of thinking tho? so if someone F2P manages to get 700 or 850 SQ for a character they want and they don't get it, it's no reason to be sad?
most players want several characters per year not just 1 or 2
EDIT : people who really like characters also sometimes want those characters at NP2-5. I rolled all I had to get NP3 Achilles

If my math was correct, FGOs pity is overall worse and more expensive than any other gacha game I play. Doesn't carry over to other banners, no known soft pity and still garbage rates. I don't know how it works if there is more than 1 rate up 5 star and apparently you can't pity more than once per banner.
I don't want to defend Genshin in anyway, but at least for a similar amount of money, you'd get 2 five star characters with possibility of soft pity and the pity can be used repeatedly in the banner and it carries over to other banners.

Is 900 quartz to get the pity, is 11 rolls per multi, kind of high but seems to be the standard to the rate up on Games (i play guardian tales and arknights that are the same amount)

for Arknights it's 100 pulls to get a 6 star. not sure why you say FGO's pity is comparable sitting at 330 pulls (300 ones you pay for with gacha currency)

Wow your having the same problem as me lol I can't decide what GSSR I'm rolling on, berserker or extra 1, power or value. On one hand I don't have a ruler and the character I have on the extra 1 banner is Jalter but at the same time if I get an extra NP on musashi berserker or Raikou I won't be made, I'm broken right now.
330 for a pity? Hell even genshin is 180 for 2 5 stars with one rate up (most case will stop at 150 or 160) and people are saying it’s not good enough.

Just started jp, got bradamante and koyanskya back to back in 8 pulls then 12 later got koyanskya dupe
I got iskandar and koyanskaya of light on gssr banner,and got koyanskaya of dark only with 2 tickets
I tried for Oberon again and got Okita Alter and Gorgon instead. Tad bit sad but I like both of them and it wasn't a summer Abby dupe so I'm happy with it. Used 150 SQ and 17 tickets got NP3 Koyanskaya 2 of which came from my tickets.
I don't really have a opinion of the the 900SQ pity summon it's way to high for me to even give it a single thought. I would of already given up at 300SQ if I couldn't get a single copy of a 5 star.
I think the pitty only really helps E rank luck whales xd
i mean i usually need around 100 Rolls for the SSR, so a pitty at 330 wont help me much, unless i jinxed it

the FGO pity gives you the banner SSR, it doesn't carry over to new banners

its as bare bones and exploitable of a system as it possibly could be.

its 330 summons (300 normal + 30 bonus summons on every 10th roll) worth 900 quartz total.
quartz and tickets count.
pity counts for each banner seperately.
daily banner changes reset the counter so you have to spend everything in one day.
ssr spooks reset the counter too.
its overall not worth it unless youre a whale and dont care about wasting money.
I think the pity system is pretty bad. 900 SQ is ridiculous tbh, but at least it’s something.

I would've preferred that as well but it's something. I don't think I've ever had to do 300 pulls in a single banner before myself but there's certainly horror stories about those kind of sessions out there.
