Nothing ever broke, the wheels are best and even when each of us has to roll 4 huge and 2 small cases we are fine... smooth as oil

i've spent the last week watching luggage reviews and even though i planned on getting rimowa, i wasn't going to anymore because of risk it attracts more thieves. but this review??? this sold me. this was IT FOR ME! i haven't stopped laughing for 20 minutes. they should cut you a cheque!
I've seen a few reviews that mention the Velcro. The Velcro is actually really strong in the lateral direction, which is where most of the tension is held when compressing your clothing. It's weak in the vertical direction because it makes it easier to open. Also the softer opening Velcro won't stick to your clothes. It's all about the pattern in the comb side. Really sticky Velcro has a chaotic comb, the little hooks on the ends of the barbs are in every direction. That makes it stick really well without any lateral tension, but also makes it stick really well to any fabric weave which allows the the combs to pass between the fibers and catch on a thread. The combs on this Velcro have barbs all in the same direction (the direction of the lateral tension). This makes it less likely to catch fibers at random but also ensures all of the comb hooks catch fibers when lateral tension is applied... Like when you're pulling the strap to compress down your clothes.
You're not bullshitting here, man - this luggage is awesome. It's just nicer to travel with one of these things, and in so many different obvious and subtle ways.
I have my ex-boyfriend's torso in a Rimowa check-in medium, and I love gliding round Terminal 5 like you do, with my legs sticking out at the side, but obviously I am careful if I'm wearing a skirt or I have had sushi. The polycarbonate Rimowa (like the Hybrid) are strong. I've been using mine since 2010 and a second one sine 2013 including 3 to 4 airplane travels per year on average since then. They are very sturdy indeed. The Rimowa ended up being a good investment despite the high purchase price for someone using air travel. I use to have cheap vinyl soft side zip suitcases without wheels before the Rimowa. The soft side ended up being unusable after a few check-in plane travels.

For someone who almost always goes for the most affordable option (aka like the Skyway option 1 version), this makes me seriously consider getting one… And every time I’m wheeling my suitcase on those two-wheels and my arms get tired…I’m like, man I should have gotten the Rimowas (I want to be gliding!!). Third time I’ve watched this, and guess who’s gonna get one (basically a splurge birthday gift to myself for the next ten years put together). 😅
Me and my Mom went to a mall one time and we ended up at a Rimowa store. All the while I thought she was gonna buy one but she comes out and drags me into the store. Has me push the bag around and test it out then asks me what I think about it. I told her its a nice bag if she’s gonna get it for herself. Nope she tells me “Okay that’s good now go buy it for yourself.” I was a thousand dollars poorer when we came out of that mall.
I have Rimowa Essentials (L),Rimowa aluminum (check in - M) and Delsey that you have on your video. There's nothing wrong with Delsey considering it's 4- 5 times less the cost of Rimowa Cabin, if you have money then go for it. For me the only advantage on Rimowa luggage are the wheels, it's like the BMW or Mercedes in handling other than that it's overprice. If you have issues in shitting on your pants when traveling, my advice to you wear a pampers Lol!
great video, i also got a rimowa after having a shitty suitcase... wheels do matter! i bought a suitcase off groupon and the wheels blown off, so i never wanted to do go through that again, hence the rimowa. i bought an away suitcase too, and will be comparing that on my channel, but first impressions nothing still beats my rimowa

Hey Rania. So I have the check in M as well in hybrid which is scratched up but because the hybrids body isn’t aluminum but polycarbonate, the scratches are not silver. They are dark grey and much less noticeable. For the black original, I’m not sure if the scratches come out silver but My guess would be they do because it’s just aluminum underneath. Hope that helps
True, scratches on black aluminum (Original and Classic) are silver which gives it a jet setting look with continuous wear and tear. Only have Cabin in aluminum. Too bad Check In sizes of Hybrid are only available in M and L this season, not in Trunk, S, Plus or XL - and in black or white. Phased out my multicolor Essential sets, am done with zippers, and sticking to Hybrid in black. Price for each new suitcase is equivalent to a roundtrip intercontinental flight in Economy😅 But Rimowa’s lifetime service warranty makes it simply worth splurging on their luggage.
I've had a Rimowa Topas Aluminium and my first one broke under warranty. They sent me another case but the new one is smaller, NOT HAPPY. I do 6 flights a fortnight all over Australia and 2-3 international flights a year. My case looks like it's just left a scrap yard and it's less than a year old. Since LV purchased them, quality has gone down. It's the last Rimowa I buy !!
