Yo Artosis, just wanted to thank you for keeping your BW casts professional and family-friendly. It makes it really easy for me to introduce the game to new fans and bring it back to old ones (many of whom have children now, so). Looking forward to watching you for another couple decades at least!
I think a big storyline that happened but didn’t really get mentioned here is Light killed every single observer on the map. It must have been like 9 observers he got.
Observers play huge role in TVP. If you kill an observer, it will force Protoss to stop production of shuttle or reaver. Make Terran easier to stop Reaver drop ..
That makes so much sense. I was going to label ruin’s play as “Scaredy cat protoss” which is a style that definitely does not take advantage of the strengths of protoss, but I didn’t notice that he lost so many observers. Knowing that, it makes sense why he would be so scared, because against light on a dark map, the world is a scary place.
Yeah, it was killing me to watch. To see the number of dragoons that couldn't get surface area from behind with that huge number of mines. Without leg speed and a good number of zealots with those middle dragoons he wasn't able to just send those zealots through the mines to clear them so he could blitz the dragoons into an engage-able range. So I definitely see why he decided to just neuter any sort of rallying reinforcements to that push until he could use a Gateway round or two of zealots in speed shuttles to try to shove up into Light's natural and work to get on top of the factories.
Whenever I see Protoss try to take out a Terran mech army with just zealots and goons, they always lose. Where's the damn templars? Where's the arbiters? Where's the reavers?
Bro had 3 bases... no carriers, even 6 scouts would have been better than 8 dragoons there since the anti air was so low... 3 or more base and not at least 2 Stargate = intentionally throwing. The Protoss this game had the Terran dead to rites with just 3 carriers it would've been JOVER, he'll even 5 dark Templar being dropped one after another to burn scans = gg. Basically ANYTHING besides pure dragoon zealot = gg. Rock protoss ground doesn't beat paper Terran ground 7/10 times at least!
Terran OP ;) but more seriously, those counter attacks were brutal. After the first one he needed to just consolidate his army and hold at the bridges to his 3rd and he wins fairly easily imo.
That -bunker- Rax* placement could be to reduce harass, or could be because Light hates when he's offensive gassed, and that's a middle finger to the assimilator. Poor Ruin, trying to take smart angles to engage on NDO, I wonder if that Mihu game messed up his sense of where he should patrol his army when these damn terrans arent taking their 3rd quickly
oh so clear what the protos should have done as you said "Just kill the Terran army once"!!! But what should the Terran do, when he missed the attack timing?!???
@@scipio764 what? Artosis said multiple times, that terrain missed the timing because he did not get fast 6 factories and expanded + pushed.... instead he fucking went for goliath range and other random decisions
@MyGreeed The problem is that Terran's timing is incredibly tight in this map because of Protoss offensive gas and probe/zealot harass makes you inevitably fall behind. A lot of Terrans have to delay 2nd CC because they don't have gas to tech into Siege Tank to protect their natural. I'm not saying Light was super tight with his timing, but Neo Dark Origin is just a bad map for TvP
