Of all the videos I found on assembling IKEA furniture, yours are the best - most detailed, not too-fast motion, clear verbal instructions (and cautions!). Has it held up after not using a drill?
I've assembled my Malm queen sized bed and the 6 drawer bureau with your guidance. Very grateful. Would not have been able to do it without your videos. The two dimensional cryptic drawings in the Ikea instruction sheets were not remotely as helpful. But now here's the thing. One drawer's front panel was damaged. The cross bars between the drawers cracked as I put the screws in. There were excessive bits of hardware, and some crucial ones missing. I'm wondering if it was a repackaged return, sold as new. My trust in Ikea is not what it was.
A most helpful video which I referred to when building my Malm dresser. Much better than the bog standard instructions you get.

This dresser is so hard to buy! Its always selling out!
Buy it gumtree in your area people are always selling it, I brought a brand new and assembled and everything only £55, even got it delivered in a normal size car just had to take out the drawers which was very easy
Ikr and IKEA only restocks with 6 at a time😭I finally managed to get it tho

Make sure your inner wheels line up with the outer wheels. We unscrewed ours and attached them correctly. Easy to fix this mistake.
I just assembled mine but I’m having difficulty fitting the top 2!drawers in, any idea what’s wrong

Make sure that when you assemble the middle part that divides the smaller drawers was placed correctly (Left and Right). Otherwise one will be higher, the drawer won't fit in it and you'll have to disassemble and flip it around.
You will get slightly newer version of this MALM chest of drawers. Different is only part at the front bottom panel all the rest is same. Thank you for watching

I just finished installing mine, followed all the steps, and double checked everything. But the dresser is wobbly from side to side. Any way to fix this?
Screws might not be tight enough, tighten them a little more. What I like to do when I assemble this kind of furniture is to put a small drop of wood glue just on the corners that way it is sturdy.

Most likely you put drawer rails other way around

Did yours seem flimsy? I’m done and everything is really tight but the dresser seems flimsy and it moves back and forth easily
try screwing it to the wall?? I recently bought one and it wobbled a bit but I screwed it and attached to the wall and now it’s secure and it doesn’t wobble at all!!
Can you put legs on this dresser? I would love to see a video of that but I’m not sure if the dresser would be to heavy for it
How is the quality and strength of this MALM furniture? Is it the same than the ikea PAX system?
And are the drawers solid or only for light objects?

Thanks for the video. Does it required to be drilled to the wall? The manual says so
Because drawers are big when you open them at the same time unit can flip especially with small kids this can be dangerous anyway you have option L shape brackets are included in the box so up to you sometime is better to be safe than sorry. My experience many people still don't want to have them attached on the wall but if there is small kind I would suggest to doit.

I don’t have an issue putting things together, I just took 2 days to figure out I put the top backwards. I have this chest and the 3 drawer left, so his vids before assembling anything else! Lol!
So at 8:30, those screws that go to the bottom, dont go deep enough, and so any advice, can I hand tighten them or what?

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

I'm having trouble, when I measure from corner to corner I get 146cm & 147cm. all screws have been tightened. what do I do?
1cm is too much. Drawers out unit face down back panel out slowly don't break you need to take nails out one by one. And again corner to corner than the same number and put the back panel again correctly and it should be fine.

On the site is says that it must be attached to the wall to prevent tip over. Is that actually true? I’ve seen this dresser multiple times and none of the reviews mentioned anything about issues with it tipping over.
Try to open all drawers loaded with clothes and let me know how it goes ;)
yeah this is true, if you’re an adult there’s no reason for you to attach it to the wall but if you have pets or any children I would highly advise attaching it to the wall. I recently bought one and it almost fell over and potentially could’ve damaged my desk and stuff so even though I’m 15 I attached it so just do whatever feels natural or safer

Can i do it with regular screwdrivers?
I was almost done with all the drawers and was putting them one by one when I finally got the last one completed it doesn’t fit on the bottom space the drawer touches the wood divider. Has anyone else has this issue? I’ve tried all the drawers to ensure that it is not the drawer but it’s the slot. None of the drawers fit on the bottom slot is strange. Please need help! If anyone knows what I’m doing wrong or the solution to this let me know! :)

Hi I ordered my 6 chest drawer from Ikea exact same one except mine is a different color. I started assembling the drawer and noticed a couple of the large screws are missing. I wrote an email to Ikea explaining my situation but they still have not gotten back to me yet.

I have installed the drawer unit correctly but the top two drawers doesn't seems to slide in n out easily as the rest of them. I tried tightening the screws and adjusting the drawer but it's still rough to slide. What do u think I'm doing wrong?

11:41 is the confusing part. Is that screw just not screwed in all the way? And there is no hole for the screw on the opposite side of the metal bar. Do you just screw that one in anyway?
That correct screw on the front panel (there is predrilled hole) not going in all the way leave a little gap just for the support come in should be close enough so it does not make a rattling noise when opening and closing drawer. back part of the drawer there is no pre-drilled hole so you just have to do it without (should be no problem with an electric screwdriver). My bottom front frame came with a " L bracket plate " and the holes for the screws, Do not fit. Is anyone running into this problem I'm wondering if that's why in the instructions they recommend a drill. Help this is Bullshit. Nice video though.

gee why doesn't my drawer fit. Had to push it hard in. Once in there was about a 1/2 inch gap at the top. What the hell. Is that an issue with the holes in the cabinet or the drawer track. Its a malm desk, but it's still malm. Anybody got an answer.
Hard to say but it sound like your drawer rail is up side down.
Im not happy my daughter assemble but is not fit and the wood is very easy to trank

try grabbing things out maybe?? Or try to sort it out from the back. This happens to me a lot but I just try to empty the drawers and much as possible

This is the older model there was not covering panel yet under the drawers. New videos on new MALM drawers with covering panel will come soon.

4 slim front middle panels in the instructions number is 101345
Do you have the dimensions for the space inside the drawers?
I hate when they use those thing pieces for the drawer bottoms, they can't hold anything even remotely of weight. At least they have the support on the big drawers though.
IKEA Could save paper and also costs by reffering to the videos and skip the paper user guides and directions which are usfull but not very do not offer very clear directions for most people.

Garbage furniture. Try to move it to your next place. It will fall apart quicker than you can say, oops. Stop being cheap, buy real pre-assembled furniture.
