My mum has recently given me her Black 2005 C180 kompressor sports coupe and I love it! Still looks very stylish and people often comment on the car despite it being 15 years old. It has 2 tone leather, 18in amg alloys, rear lip spoiler and the amg bumpers. Been in the family since 2008 and has now covered 112k miles and still runs smooth as silk. Had a few minor issues over the years, the most major being a vaccum leak but other than that it's been pretty solid. No rust either as some have mentioned in the comments, post facelift models (after 2004) were galvanised so they don't rust like the older models. As for their longevity and build quality, mine is at 112k as mentioned and I've seen numerous kompressor coupe petrols on the market with well over 150k, sometimes even more than 200k. Think they've proven that if you service and look after these cars properly, they'll last.
I have owned this car since November 2002. The color is the same as mine, orion blue metallic. I have a light leather cream interior and power sun room which is great to have.
I have had no problems. Regular maintenance, I store it thru the winter months. Fun car that I still love driving to this day!

mine has been in the family since 2006 now on 100k miles. before it was owned by a mercdes benz employee. never had any bigger issues (unlike my brothers numerous BMWs) besides rust which is no problem when taken care of in time.

The pano roof didn't work and started leaking. I calked the seams. Why pay more?

Hahaha, pure class comparing this to a Citroen Xsara Coupe, that's exactly what I did when I looked at it and still do, it's almost a direct copy of it at the back Lol. My uncle had one of these the Kimpressor, had it for several years, 10 nearly and he's an older chustomer, never gave him any trouble as far as I know.
its more a ripoff of the 3 series compact.
US and EU spec did have kompressors,the kimpressors went to North Korea😂

Absolutely every right to be pissed off. Lot of money spent and those little rough edges are where the rust will start eating away. This car will not stand the test of time.
No rust at all yet, driving c180 coupe sport automatic now for 6 months. Carbuild: 2004.
No rust on my 2003 C 180 Kompressor as well, but they like to rust, that's true. Especially the very early ones from 2001 and 2002.
my 2003 c230 sportcoupe has some rust to be sure but nothing serious (yet)
I got the 2006 model in red, no rust or issues 👍🏻 lovely motor
