Came here to listen to your story after the mike brewer interview, both of which ive totally enjoyed.
I run a small tuning business and its hard work and all consuming, so i totally understand the need for taking time out once in a while, and all the hard work and strees that goes with it, its all relative.
Best of luck with what your doing Ben, I'll be sure to keep a look out for stories that interest me...the alex kesten, chris harris and now mike brewer chats are inspirational over the different generations they cover, particularly for us 50+ers that understand how the landscape has/is changing as its interesting to see how they and yourself deal with changes like weve all had too.
    Keep at it.
    Jason

I've come here from the Misha podcast and it's very interesting listening to your story of how you got where you are today, especially at such a young age. It's great that your dad supported you and I'm absolutely certain he would have been very proud of your resolve to keep going even through the tough times. I've always wanted to start my own proper business, but never had the funds to do so. I'm a mechanic by trade and the dream has always been to own my own motorsport garage. Sadly as far as I got was managing someone else's garage before my wife became very ill with cancer. I had to leave my job to become her full time carer which I will be forever now. As you've experienced with your dad, life can change in an instant and it doesn't take much to lose everything so make the most of what you have, while you have it. We as a family went from being self sufficient with a beautiful home, a good income, nice cars and 5 amazing children to starting again in a council house and living on universal credit. I hope you are never in my position and I'm looking forward to working my way through your podcasts.

Really interesting life-story Ben. Im not sure how you kept it together, talking about your dad's passing. Took me back and still brings a lump to my throat.
You're spot on when you talk about different walks of life. It's not all about what you have but what you do with what you have and seizing opportunities.
As an aside, I could have swore you were in the Lakes Bar and Kitchen this morning. I kept quiet in case you had a doppelganger and I'd make a proper tit of myself.
    Anyway, keep 'em coming.

I loved hearing the end of the start of your podcast journey,
Did your look at pateron or because of your experience in the web that it was a no brainer doing it in-house?

After watching some of your more popular videos (I'm sure you wonder why unfortunately some get so few views !), I have subscribed and been going through your back catalog.
You have interviewed some diverse subjects and I've found many to be more interesting and enjoyable than I thought I would. You have succeeded in gaining some great insights.
I've read of your father and know of the loss that brings (still miss mine daily after 20+ years) but I am sure he is looking down on you and enjoying your success too.
I wish you all the best for the future and look forward to your future content. I hope you are in profit, or at least breaking even on the project !

Hi man. I've binge watched few of your podcasts in a row. i came back to this video to comment because I didn't suit under any other video. I'm struggling to find the words that would explain what your podcasts did for my mental heath. I come from an immigrant family we were never wealthy but never rich. So since childhood I always was looking for ways to make money. Yes i was the kid selling sweats in high school etc. Once I finish college I was lost in the world. Didn't know what I wanted to do. I did random jobs some of which I was let go some I quit etc. Made few ecommerce business that all failed. 2 years ago I decided to go self employed in the renovation industry. I was doing great. I became a duo with my dad. I go all my skills from my dad so it was the right thing to do. We were making comfortable living. Until few months ago. Few unpaid invoices. Bad contracts I didn't catch. Big contracts cancelling last minute. We are here. I have just enough to pay tax for last year. I was tempted to call it quits and go back to working in factory. After watching your story and stories of your bunch of people on your podcast. It gave me that kick up the backside to not give up. It reminded me not just look at people success and be jealous because I don't know what these people had to go though to achieve their success. I at age of 24 was ready to call it quits and give up on my dream. Your dad's story starting business at 40 is so inspirational. I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you

I so rarely will listen to a full podcast especially someone so young that I have never heard of before. I am in my late 50’s and have been feeling at a crossroads in my life after so many bad decisions or more importantly lack of decisions and this podcast has been a revelation. Thanks for your story and tomorrow my life starts again by making so decisions I have been putting off for the last few years.
Good luck on your journey. I will be following it. You have a sensible head for someone do young. Your family should be proud of you
      Take care Michael

I can relate, lost my dad a few years ago, he spent his life working for himself (builder/plumber) bankrupted himself twice over and even left debts in his retirement (not the nicest thing to inherit)
*Maybe i should put my ancient NASH xs warriors and Shimano 8000GTE's into a raffle they're mint and probably worth millions... maybe not eh 🤣

Use rubber coasters on any drinks you have on the table, as it will stop any echo when drink is put down.
I know it is a little thing, but every thing haelps you make a better podcast.

      @RoadToSuccessOfficialPodcast  Před rokem +3

Decided to make the channel these were published on Angling Only as the fishing / lake building videos were doing so well and the lake series viewers weren't interested in my normal podcast. A channel solely for my business Podcast should target the right audience and both channels should do better. :)
