God I watched it too. I only understood why when Katya talked about going to Paris at 16 and chain smoking - I did that too! I worked an entire summer at great America to afford a ticket to go to Paris.
I went to visit family that lived outside of Paris and once I arrived they were like this is “tres inconvenient “ and so that’s the reason I wandered around Paris at 16 for two weeks all by myself. Knowing une peu French btw.
Except all I ate were baguettes and clementines lol because I didn’t speak the language. I was scared to eat any food as I don’t eat meat and I was also convinced/terrified that all the food would somehow have snail in it lol.
Also saw Sonic Youth with an incredibly attractive guy I met at Jim Morrison’s grave.

What they said about pregnant women not wanting to dress up and wear heels was definitely true for me. A lot of women get really glam for their baby shower but I was not feeling it. I just wore leggings with a long tunic top and knee high boots. So it was kinda cute but also very comfy.

@jonjonkiki1 kiki I didn't notice any grammar mistakes, I imagine they had someone fact check it. Accents are good (as in someone who doesn't know any french would think they sound french), but pronunciation gives it away a bit, for me especially "regarder" ("to watch" in "queens who like to watch")
@jonjonkiki1 kiki native speaker here - their accents are definitely anglophone, but still very understandable. Trixie’s French is a little more formal - what you’d hear in French class, I would place her as an « advanced beginner » French speaker. Katya’s grammar and cadence is more casual and natural. She’s clearly listened to a lot of French and has had lots of practice!! Her vocabulary is more detailed, too.

Being Italian Trixie being shocked at kids smoking on school ground made me laugh.
The first high school I went to was very preppy and extremely strict but still at the mid day break kids and teachers smoked literally in the same area. We also had the "salamellata" which was a monthly event for charity where we ate sausage sandwiches at night in the school perimeter with a beer kiosk in the park near by and teachers didn't give a fuck if 15 years old were completely hammered in the school perimeter.
The other school I went to tho was in the depressed area I live in and teachers were very vocal about not supporting smoking. But still when I broke down crying after a teacher screamed at me one day I went smoking in the parking lot and she came to me and apologized, totally unphazed by the fact I was smoking.
Damn now that I think of it in my middle school 12 years old "bad boys" used to smoke waiting for the classes to start...
The fact is tho that not having very harsh prohibitions makes all of this boring after a while and people in their 20s often stop binge drinking and smoking weed without even realizing it, because it isn't fun and "prohibited"anymore
