I'm a woodshop teacher and one thing about us woodworkers is we have a tendency to overcomplicate things. I was looking for an easy design for a foldout table to put in my laundry room. I love this. Nothing fancy, but it looks good and works great. Super simple. Thank you

Yeah…it’s SUPER nice to watch a vid of a Woodworker who has skill and isn’t a show off. Eyes glaze over at the size of their workspace or how many saws and tables they use.

Most people won't have a circular saw handy for the longer rip cuts.
Many places that will sell you pine board and lumber will rip the pieces to what you need, particularly if you ask nicely. Rough cuts being rough, a little sand paper (100 + 200/250 grit) will finish those ends nicely.
    Nice little project, Coral!

Any thoughts on preventing someone from accidentally bumping the L-brackets while you’re working? I’m thinking like a dead bolt that locks it into place once the desk is up… it could be attached to the L brackets and there could be a hole in the spacer piece for it to bolt into.

Pretty sweet - thanks for posting! Not sure if I follow what the reason for the 1" x 10" long 'spacers' you put on the bottom side of the desk but it will probably make sense once I start the build. I think I will add a small stop on those pieces to make sure the support legs cant be knocked out on accident and collapse the desk. Thanks again!

Just an assumption, if they are tight the to the bottom of the desk when you fold the L brackets in to close the desk they will hit the round part of the hinge on the bottom(look at 2:58), materiel she already had was a good spacer. Love the idea btw, building it this week for my daughters room.

Pre drill hole should be a little bit smaller than your screw, the joining face should be slightly bigger so it doesn’t bind.

nice looking table, but...the website is gone and the math shown doesn't add up (steps are missing). Example, the shelf is 30" long but its attached to a 36" long board on the wall

Can I use it upside down ?? Will it hold itself when closed in upside position or I need to use some locking mechanism?

Thank you. Looks great. The link to the step by step and details does not seem to be working though. Is there a page with the step by step?
